Chapter 15: Chapter 15: The Trial of Devotion
Joo Hyun stood at the entrance to the 15th floor, his gaze steady and composed. The ethereal voice of the Tower echoed around him:
"Floor 15: The Trial of Devotion. Prove your loyalty, resolve, and strength in unity."
He frowned slightly, turning to Dain and the other companions who had joined him along the way. "This sounds more… philosophical than the last floors," he mused.
Dain nodded. "If it's about loyalty, we may have to deal with moral dilemmas or tests of trust."
The group stepped through the gate and found themselves in a massive coliseum-like arena. A crowd of shadowy figures filled the stands, their faces obscured but their whispers carrying an eerie energy. In the center of the arena stood three massive pedestals, each holding a glowing orb.
A towering figure, clad in armor of molten gold and obsidian, materialized before them. Its voice boomed:
"To ascend, you must choose. Each orb represents a path, but only one leads forward."
---
The Dilemma
The first orb glowed a serene blue, radiating a calming aura. The golden knight's voice explained:
"The Path of Sacrifice: One must stay behind to let the rest ascend."
The second orb blazed with crimson energy, pulsating like a heartbeat.
"The Path of Strife: Battle until only the strongest remain."
The third orb shimmered with golden light, warm yet fleeting.
"The Path of Unity: Solve the riddle together, or all will perish."
Joo Hyun glanced at his team, weighing their reactions. Dain's brow furrowed, her hand resting on her blade. The others whispered nervously, torn between the options.
"We choose the third orb," Joo Hyun said decisively, his voice calm but firm.
The knight's golden eyes glinted as it stepped aside. "Very well. Prove your unity."

The Riddle
As the group approached the golden orb, the coliseum's floor transformed into a shimmering platform, inscribed with runes. The orb floated upward, its light casting an intricate puzzle on the ground.
"Three doors stand before you," the orb's voice rang out. "One leads forward. Solve the runes to reveal it."
The group split up to analyze the puzzle, each person focusing on a section. Joo Hyun observed the patterns, his tactical mind piecing together connections.
"This rune represents the constellation Orion," Dain pointed out, her knowledge of myths proving invaluable.
"Over here! These symbols seem to depict time—look at the phases of the moon," another ally added.
Joo Hyun nodded, bringing their findings together. "If it's Orion and lunar phases, it could mean alignment. What if we adjust the platform to match the constellation's shape?"
With teamwork and quick thinking, they shifted the platform's tiles to mimic the constellation. A resounding hum filled the air as the runes glowed brightly. The golden orb split into shards, revealing a hidden door.

The True Test
As they prepared to leave, the knight reappeared, blocking their path.
"You have solved the puzzle, but unity is more than intellect. Prove your devotion to one another."
Suddenly, the group was surrounded by shadowy figures, weapons drawn. Joo Hyun quickly stepped forward, his mana blade igniting with a dazzling blue light.
"We fight together!" he shouted.
The group moved as one, each member trusting the other's abilities. Dain covered the flanks, her speed and precision keeping the enemies at bay. Another ally created barriers of light to protect the group, while Joo Hyun led the charge, his attacks carving through the shadows with ease.
As the last shadow fell, the knight knelt.
"You have proven your devotion. The path forward is yours."

Ascending with Purpose
The group stood before the exit gate, weary but triumphant.
"This trial wasn't just about strength or intelligence," Joo Hyun said, his voice thoughtful. "It was about trust and working as one."
Dain smiled faintly. "You're a good leader, Joo Hyun. People follow you because they believe in you."
As they ascended to the 16th floor, Joo Hyun couldn't help but feel that the Tower was preparing him for something far greater than he had imagined.
