Chapter 16: Our God

Ray, heads out of the school and goes to the market to sell his potion, earning him 14 silver.
'Alright, if I keep this up I can build a stockpile of money for later. I should also look into the requirements to open a guild..'
Ray asks around for a bit, and goes off to Baron Ridgewalt's office, Ridgewalt is in charge of registering guilds, as well as the distribution of quests.
When Ray walks in he sees a large office with several rooms, and a small desk with an older receptionist, who has her name on a plate.
"Hello there! Welcome to the office of guild registry! How may I help you?" Anya says.
"Hi, I was wondering what is required in order to start a guild?" Ray asks.
"Oh? Someone as young as you looking into that? How cute! Well, in order to set up your own guild, obviously you have to have a name, a down payment of 100 gold,
and a building to use for the guild. You also need two 4 star guild members in order to apply. Also, depending on the registered guild member, there may be a background check,
and if you are not a guild member yourself, you have to qualify the normal standards to become one yourself." Anya says.
'100 gold?! And I have to qualify as a guild member which I can't do as a student…' Ray thinks.
"Would a student be able to register a guild?" Ray asks.
"Hm… Possibly, but you would most likely have to get permission from your teacher, as well as your principal. You also won't be allowed to go on missions yourself." Anya replies
"Very well, alright then, have a good day." Ray says as he walks out.
Ray walks home, collecting herbs and other supplies, then begins to make his potions for the rest of the night while also channeling his affinities.

Seirai and Modri wake up after spending the night in the small town. She heads out to go meet with the town elder again.
"Hello! So when are they going to show up?" Modri asks, impatiently.
"Have patience Modri." Seirai chides.
"They will be here soon, they show up in the morning when people are mostly asleep…" The elder says as he coughs.
"I guess there is nothing to do other than wait…" Seirai mutters.
*****
After half an hour of waiting, they see a large group of people approaching, some dressed in leather armor, with knives, swords and some lances.
"Head inside elder. We will remove them." Seirai says as she unsheathes her shining golden sword.
'This feels… Powerful.' Seirai thinks.
The elder heads inside, as well as many other villagers nearby. Some of the villagers "guards" try to stay and help.
"Don't be silly! You all won't be able to help!" Modri laughs as he pulls out his Fang of Tyfonas.
Begrudgingly the guards stand in front of civilian doors, just in case.
"Modri, allow me to get the first strike. I want to try something." Seirai says.
Seirai holds the Shard of Ignis in front of her, as the bandits walk up.
"Oi? Did they get themselves adventurers? How interesting! I suggest you stand down though, you are highly outnumbered." The leader in the center says.
"Not going to happen. So if you value your existence I strongly suggest that you give up." Seirai smiles.
"Hm? You think just because you have a fancy sword you are ready for battle? You are probably some new members trying to make a name for yourselves." The leader spits.
'I guess I have to now.' Seirai grins wildly, as she swings her sword. Infusing mana into it, and shouting.
"Blaze of Kaine!"
A massive wall of fire crashes towards the dozens of bandits, wiping out all but 8 of them. In a roar of anger the remaining bandits charge out.
"Hey! No fair!" Modri shouts
"Sorry! You can have the rest." Seirai apologizes.
"Yay!" Modri says as he sinks into the earth, leaping out behind them.
"Wind walk!"
Modri leaps around the air, cutting the bandits deeply with each pass.
"Urgh! You little shit!" A bandit shouts.
The bandit swings wildly at Modri, but he effortlessly dodges out of the way.
"Dang! You guys talked so much… I thought this would be more fun…" Modri pouts.
While Modri is distracted one of the bandits charges at Seirai. She instinctively blocks with her sword.
As she does a translucent golden shell appears around her blocking the swing.
'It even has a shield?!' Seirai thinks.
Seirai shifts the bandit's sword down, then elbows him hard in the face, shattering his nose. While he is dazed she slams the side of his head with the hilt of the sword, knocking him out.
Modri leaps up, slitting the throat of one of them, while snatching the knife from the opponent, then throws the knife at another bandit.
"Wind slip!"
The knife follows a path of wind, striking a bandit in the throat.
The last 5 bandits surrender, knowing there is nothing they can do.
Loud cheers erupt from the villagers as the bandits are tied up and locked away in the town prison.
"W-we can never thank you enough!" The elder says.
"No need to thank us, this is our job!" Modri smiles.
"Well, we shall forever be in your debt. May the primus forever bless you!" The elder says.
"Thank you for the blessing, but our god is not the primus, our God is Lord Kaine. Either way, I wish you all the best!" Seirai says as she walks away with Modri.
*****
After heading back to the guild, with a letter from the elder stating the quest was completed.
"Good job! You completed your first quest. Your reward, as stated, is 23 silver." The receptionist says.
"Yay! Mom, we made money!" Modri shouts
The receptionist chuckles in response. Seirai sighs as she walks back up to the quest board.
*****
'I managed to break through to the second circle with lightning. Hopefully the more adept I get with it, the better I can handle strike armor being stacked up with others..'
Ray gets up and collects half of the 8 potions he made, leaving the rest for Modri and Seirai.
'Time to make as much money as possible… A hundred gold.. From what I can gather that is around 1000 silver, not including marketing for the guild in the future…'
