The Immortal (twilight fanfiction)

Chapter 6: Passing time (part 4)

Chapter 5 (edited)

Year- 2048 BC

Time in world- 1,952 years 10 months 74 days 4 hours.

For the next few hundred years I dedicated myself to learning and knowledge. Traveling to all corners of land I could reach.

Learning new things and mastering them.

I started with the most important thing. Learning different fighting styles, spears, swords, and hand-to-hand.

I was best with the short sword. Making my own style where I got in close and would attack. not giving my opponent the opportunity to fight back.

In other words, coming in close and staying on the offense. constantly keeping my opponent on the defense by constantly attacking.

Or it should. I have yet to put it to the real test against a vampire.

When I learned how to fight I couldn't practice against regular people at full speed. so instead I would watch people practicing. storing it all away in my brain.

Then go somewhere private and away from any populated places, mostly the woods, And practice. Studying it and learning from it. Feet placements, how to hold the weapon, and different moves and combos.

Practicing it and mastering the moves, molding and improving them to better fit my speed and strength.

Spending most of the years in China itself.

China was packed full of different fighting styles. Especially with the sword, spear, and hand-to-hand. It was very impressive to see it.

My guess is the constant wars fought in those times gave birth to hundreds of different styles.

And every one of them I mastered.

The only problem is the current weapons themself. They are made of bronze.

Bronze is a very weak metal compared to other metals like iron or steel and iron swords won't be made for a while and steel won't be produced for over a thousand years.

The problem was how can I find something strong enough for a vampire.

with my strength anytime I hit something like a rock that might be as strong as a vampire's skin with a sword made of bronze it would break in half or into pieces.

So I did the best I could by mentally fighting an imaginary foe.

Over the years I fought millions of imaginary enemies.

Sometimes multiple enemies all at once.

So for about three hundred years I just studied martial arts.

After learning thousands of different styles I decided to start learning other things.

The first thing after was medicine.

It's honestly amazing what natural medicine can do.

It can heal rashes, and mixing certain herbs with hot water can get rid of coughing or colds. Natural antibiotics. It really is fascinating.

Then I just kept going moving from one thing after another. Seeing Mount Everest in the Himalayas, the Nile River, the Swiss Alps, the Algarve coast in Portugal, and more in my traveling.

[TIME SKIP]

Year- 1000 BC

Years in world-3000 years 8 months 44 days

I was currently sitting on a beach in the boot of Italy, watching the sun slowly drop behind the ocean as I went over the past thousand years.

I learned to fight, medicine, and an insane amount of other things from carving to building, cooking, languages, and all sorts of things.

And I was still traveling to learn more things.

But at the moment I was having a little vacation.

As I was thinking my mind began to wonder.

There was still one thing. One thing I had yet to do. Or even attempt.

And that was to find love.

since I've come here thousands of years ago. I haven't felt the urge to find love.

Of course, I've been with women but only for one-night stands.

I never got attached.

Why get attached when they are destined to die in a blink of an eye for me.

And the last thing I want right now is immortal children.

It felt like I was waiting for them. waiting to meet them whoever they are.

But who are they? I could only guess.
