The next day, Yumiko woke up in high spirits. 

Because of tiredness, she slept the whole night and only woke up at noon

Fortunately, her slumber wasn't distributed by anyone, and it was the same case with her two weeks of training.

She washed herself and wore a clean kimono that suited her small frame

She combed her hair into a braid after brushing it, making sure to throw all of her fallen hair in the toilet

After that she sat at her table with her copybook in hand, opening it she thought

'Now that I finished that training, I need to get back ninjutsutsu. This time I must learn some spying seals so that I won't need to use shadow clone to watch my surroundings, also suppressing seals so I can train my Rasengan without anyone noticing

After all, that jutsu requires a lot of chakra to use... well it's a ball of chakra technically

and unlike my Hurricane fist, doing it will attract the attention of any nearby sensor in the village'

She sighed before slumping her head

'Seems like I have a lot of work to do.

I wonder how much time it would take me?

Naruto took him one week to learn it and that's without forgetting his restless training and guidance from Jiraya...'

For a few moments, Yumiko kept looking at her lap silently before finally deciding

'Alright, I'll take a day off, it's not like I need to train my ass off every day, even if I do so my physical and mental health won't take it kindly' Getting up from her seat, She started stretching her sore limbs

'I will reward myself for all my hard work! Going to a restaurant doesn't seem bad.'

She hesitated to change her clothes but she ended up changing them anyway.

Yumiko wasn't planning on going to a specific restaurant. After all, the restaurants she chooses are always random

Well, the only exception is the one that sells tea and mochi.

Konoha was as lively as ever; with children running around and Merchants selling their products.

Needless to say Yumiko loved those moments, they gave her some type of peace.

While walking, she finally found a restaurant

'Yakiniku Q' was the restaurant's name; sadly, Yumiko wasn't attentive enough to notice it.

Entering, she chose the first table before settling. After ordering, her order came fastly after because the grill was on the table

While grilling with her chopstick a sudden thought came to her mind 'That's odd... did I come here before?

Something is telling me I saw this place before' She shook her head, getting rid of the thought. Yumiko started eating the meat that was cooked while adding different sauces that were presented to her with her order

While being in heaven, her eyes suddenly shifted to the restaurant entrance, her senses picked two chakras coming toward her

She wasn't affected that much, that was until two of her former classmates entered the restaurant.

Chewing, Yumiko looked at them while thinking 'That's why I felt like I saw this place before...my memory is no joke really'

While entering, Choji and Shikamaru were in another world, simply because they were bickering on God knows what

Yumiko hesitated to invite them, after all, she hadn't seen them since the tree-walking thing.

Shaking her head at the negative thought, Yumiko raised her hand putting on a casual smile before calling them

"Shikamaru! Choji! Here!" The two of them looked the way where the voice came from only to be met with Yumiko's waving at them with a bright smile

Both fall silent. The last time they met her, they became weirded out, like how can a person's personality change so drastically?

Yumiko in her academy days was a silent, boring person, she rarely talked to anyone and always seemed annoyed, as if something was bothering her

Now she suddenly become a social butterfly

Of course, they could never guess the reason why.

Choji kicked his friend on the shoulder as if asking his opinion, Shikamaru on the other hand glanced at Choji before shrugging

'Forming silent conventions, huh? It's not like I am gonna eat you.' Yumiko rolled her eyes at their hesitation.

They sat at the table facing Yumiko

"Order whatever you want, the bill is on me" she said cooly knowing damn well she was going to regret it later

Choji percked up at her last statement before asking carefully " Really?"

Raising her eyebrow, she looked at him weirdly "Why would I lie to you?" Choji hesitated for a moment before nodding

Deciding to change the subject, Yumiko asked them, "So, how are you doing at the academy? is there any news?" Her tone wasn't that of arrogance or sarcasm, just normal.

Shikamaru shrugged before answering casually "Nothing new, Naruto is still as troublesome as ever and Ino and Sakura are still in love with Sasuke" Yumiko chuckled at his dry answer

"What about you? Can you tell us how it is to be a chunin at such a young age?" Choji was the one who asked curiously, his eyes glinted in anticipation, it was the same case with Shikamaru

'Well I guess at the end of the day they're still kids' She sighed before answering with a smile

"It's hard... especially when everybody you come across underestimates you" She chuckled bitterly remembering her encounter with the missing-nin "Am not doing missions anyway, I am training to create my own cool jutsu which I did created recently with success" She smirked after seeing their awed expressions

The waiter came to their table again and as expected, Choji didn't hold back

Yumiko's brows twitched seeing how shameless he was (or innocent?) Shikamaru on the other hand looked at Yumiko with a small smirk

"Say, Yumiko-chan... can you tell us what jutsu you were working on?" Choji asked hesitantly only to be cut off by Shikamaru

"Choji! We can't ask about other ninja jutsu! remember what Iruka-sensei told us?" He said hurriedly "B-but! you want to know too, don't you?" Receiving no answer from his best friend, Choji nodded in satisfaction.

Unfortunately, Shikamaru was also curious about her jutsu, very curious, and he couldn't deny it. After all, meeting with a prodigy doesn't happen every day

Yumiko began laughing, tears escaped her eyes while doing so

That made both boys blush in embarrassment thinking they made fun of themselves by asking such a selfish request

The waiter came and gave them their order. Alas neither Shikamaru nor Choji moved from their place or intended to eat

When she finally calmed down, she wiped the small tears before saying "Showing you my jutsu? Why not? Let's go to training ground nine since it's dangerous to test it anywhere else" They stared at her with wide eyes filled with disbelief

Shikamaru suddenly suggested "How about we go to the Nara compound? We can be more comfortable while seeing your jutsu" He said pointedly

'Heh smart ass, didn't think he would discover that easily' Yumiko chose training ground nine for being close to the academy

After all, The two boys ahead of her were obviously skipping classes again

'Well you will regret it one way or another, rest assured' She innocently smiled at him

After finishing their meal (with Yumiko paying) they went to the Nara compound following Shikamaru

Yumiko would be lying if she said she wasn't super excited

Choji and Shikamaru were looking at Yumiko carefully. After reaching the compound they went straight to the forest much to Yumeko's dismay

'Well I guess there is no choice huh?' smiling she started forming Hurricane in her arm before punching a nearby tree

Hissing, she took her fist back only to see it all bloody

The tree was sent flying which caught the boys off guard

'Even though I did that intentionally, it still hurts like a bitch'

Seeing her blood flowing in her hand they were once again taken back

Choji gasped "Your hand! Yumiko-chan we should treat it now!" He said terrified

The two boys stopped thinking rationality the moment they saw Yumiko's hand, after all, the wound she applied to her hand caused a lot of blood, even though it wasn't that deep

"No need. Shikamaru, do you have a first aid kit in your house? If so then let's go there since it is closer than the hospital" Shikamaru didn't think much of it and nodded rapidly

He quickly started leading them to his house.

While speed walking, Yumiko wiped her blood with a napkin while Choji was beside her looking all stressed out

Seriously, someone might think he was the one who had the wound not Yumiko

'Hehe hope I find his parents'

Reaching his house, Shikamaru suddenly froze in place remembering his mother

He cursed under his breath before turning to them

"You two wait here, I'll sneak to get the first aid kit..." He bit his lips before adding

"I am sorry Yumiko but I'll be in big trouble if my mom sees me skipping classes again"

'If it wasn't for that white-haired jōnin who told our parents about us ditching classes, I might not be in big trouble as now'

He was talking about Kakashi, who caught them outside many times.

Shikamaru didn't know how they met him every time they skipped class; it was as if he was waiting for them to do it.

Yumiko nodded hesitantly while Choji snapped at his best friend, "What do you mean, Shikamaru? Look at her hand! We can't wait any longer" 

"I'll be fast, I promise" He said before entering his home quietly leaving no room for Choji to argue

"Yumiko-chan I really apologize for his behavior, I'll scold him later" He looked at her sadly

"No, it-" Before she could finish, a loud voice interrupted them "SHIKAMARU" They both looked at the door with wide eyes

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?? DIDN'T I TELL YOU TO STOP SKIPPING CLASSES!" They sweat dropped

"I kinda feel bad now..." Yumiko mumbled

"I can explain mom! my friend is outside injured!" Shikamaru panicked voice could be heard from outside

"You left your friend out? Shikamaru! we will have a long conversion later"

A bang was heard and after that silence fell over the house, not a second later the door opened showing a lovely women with a lovely smile, if someone sees her they would think she weren't the one who was yelling a second ago

"Why hello dea-" She Stopped in mid-sentence after seeing a girl outside her house, a beautiful girl, a girl...

She looked at Yumiko longer than needed.

All of sudden she teleported next to her, literally

Grabbing her shoulder she asked with stars in her eyes "Nee are you Shikamaru girlfriend secretly?" She asked with expectation

Shikamaru who just arrived at the doorframe, eyes widened in horror before correcting his mother "Mom she-"

Yumiko smiled brightly before answering "Yes I am"

Yoshino squealed in happiness while Choji and Shikamaru looked at her dumfounded

"I didn't know my shika has a good taste in women! We have a lot to talk about my dear! come inside and let me treat your wound first"

Grabbing her uninsured hand, Yoshino lead Yumiko to the kitchen

However before entering the kitchen a voice stopped them in their track "What is happening here? you woke me up from my nap with your yelling woman"

Because of her good mood Yoshino didn't mind her husband much "This is Shika-chan girlfriend! He brought her here because she is injured!"

Shukaku was too smart to be fooled, and unfortunately as the jōnin commander he knew almost every remarkable ninja in the village

'The hidden prodigy... I have read her file a few years ago and it was mentioned her knowledge of iryo-no-jutsu' He already placed the pieces together and boy... The look he was giving her made her feel like an open book for him to read.

"Oh right I forgot to introduce myself formally" Letting go of Yumiko hand, she faced her and stood alongside her husband

"My name is Nara Yushino, and this man is my lazy husband Nara shukaku, it's nice to meet you" She bowed her head and forced her husband with her

"My name is Yumiko of the leaf! feel free to call me whatever you want ma'am, I feel like we are going to have a very good and long relationship" Yumiko grinned from ear to ear and so Yoshino

"hmm... Shikamaru did I hear it right?" Asked Choji hesitantly

"I don't know Choji... I don't know whether my ears deceived me or it was simply true what we heard..." Shikamaru answered his best friend helplessly

"I wish we met in more suitable circumstances" Mumbled Yoshino while cleaning Yumiko wound "That Shikamaru! How dare he not invite you sooner! He shouldn't be careless with his girlfriend! I will give him a piece of my mind later!"

Yumiko shook her head while replying "No its okay, really I don't mind" 

"My god, you are too kind! you should sometimes be heartless for your own good dear or else people might think you are weak"
