The Hidden Extra: The Lazy Prince Refuses to Ascend The Throne

Chapter 244: A Battle Between Two Demons

Bang!

Malverna struck the demon's head, sending his body crashing to the ground.

A five-meter-deep hole opened, swallowing him into its depths.

Malverna landed a few meters away from the pit, her expression cold and indifferent.

"Is he dead?" She muttered quietly.

Whoosh!

A black figure shot out of the hole—the demon, his face twisted with fury.

"It seems not…" Malverna exhaled a small sigh.

She had no time to think. The demon darted at her with breakneck speed.

Bang!

His punch slammed toward her face, but she caught it with her left palm.

"Die!" the demon roared, twisting his body vertically. The heels of his feet morphed into dagger-like blades aimed straight at the top of her head.

Had the strike landed, her skull would have split in two. But Malverna had already foreseen the move.

She tilted to the side, narrowly avoiding it. Her right hand opened, summoning a reddish-black spear in the air.

Gripping the shaft, she swung it hard at the demon's left side.

Boom!

His body flew again, smashing into a massive tree fifty meters away. The trunk exploded into fragments under the impact.

The demon's body was shattered, his arms and legs torn apart, yet they reformed as if he had never been injured.

Malverna drew a deep breath. How can I kill this demon?

At first, she thought his regeneration could be handled easily. But now she realized she had underestimated him.

His power was overwhelming, and she began to wonder if there was even a way to defeat him.

"Argh… Argh…" the demon groaned, slowly rising to his feet. Drool dripped from the corners of his lips as he glared at Malverna with hatred. "I just want to live… I just want to live and be free! Why are you bothering me?"

Boom!

A violent aura burst from his body, tearing apart everything around him.

Yet Malverna stood firm, calm, and fearless.

Whoosh!

The demon vanished and reappeared above her, both hands raised high as they transformed into sharp blades.

Slash!

The twin blades swung straight for Malverna's neck. But she slipped aside in time, spinning her spear and striking to the left.

The spear's tip sliced clean through the demon's head—only for it to reattach a moment later. The demon grinned coldly.

"You can't beat me!"

He slashed again, his blade-like hands crossing toward her chest.

Caught off guard, Malverna couldn't dodge. The strike carved an X across her chest.

The demon's grin widened as he drew back his left hand, aiming for her heart.

But then, a playful smile curved across Malverna's lips.

"Do you think it's that easy to defeat me?"

Malverna spun the spear in her right hand, dodging the strike with ease. In one smooth motion, she drove it straight into the demon's heart.

"Argh!" The demon writhed in pain.

He grabbed the spear with both hands, desperately trying to push it away—but failed.

Whoosh!

A surge of demonic aura burst from Malverna's body, flowing into the spear and then flooding into the demon.

Although they were both demons, there was a clear difference between them.

Pure demons drew their power from the magic core—the source where demonic power was created before spreading through their bodies.

The artificial demon before her had no such core. Rovert must have replaced it with something else.

The result was clear—his power was unstable. His regeneration was strong, but overall, he was weaker.

"Argh… Argh…" the demon howled, thrashing wildly as Malverna's demonic power tore through him.

He felt every cell in his body being destroyed from within. His healing ability worked frantically, trying to repair the internal damage, but it was futile.

It couldn't keep up with the relentless destruction unleashed by her power.

In the end, his strength drained away until he finally fell still.

Malverna pulled her spear from his chest and gave it a sharp flick, scattering the filthy blood clinging to its tip.

She gazed at the lifeless demon with a cold, yet faintly compassionate look.

"How pathetic," she whispered.

Before dying, the demon's eyes had reflected sorrow and unwillingness. Malverna guessed that Rovert must have promised him freedom.

Of course, she knew that promise was nothing but a lie. Even if the demon had obeyed Rovert's orders, that savage man would never have set him free.

After all, turning a human into a demon was an unprecedented experiment—at least in the era she lived in.

The spear in Malverna's hand vanished. She turned to leave when, suddenly, an overwhelming aura burst out behind her.

Startled, she looked back and saw the demon rising once more. Like a whirlwind, black energy swirled around him, tearing apart the ground, grass, and trees within a hundred-meter radius.

"Argh! I haven't lost yet! Freedom… I want freedom!"

A shrill scream tore from the demon's mouth, a piercing sound that felt like a spear stabbing into the eardrums of anyone who heard it.

Fortunately, no one else was nearby, so there were no casualties. Malverna merely flicked her left hand, summoning a barrier that instantly shielded her from the sound.

"Die! Die! Die!" the demon bellowed.

Both of his hands morphed into long black spears. Leaping high, he hurled them down at Malverna.

Bang!

But his strike crashed uselessly against the barrier.

Bang!

Bang!

The demon attacked again and again, but the barrier held firm like an unbreakable wall of iron.

Malverna sighed lightly and raised her left hand.

"Let's end this. You've suffered enough, haven't you?"

Her words stunned the demon. But before he could react, the sky darkened, and red lightning split the heavens, as if the world itself were on the verge of collapse.

The air grew tense and heavy. The demon looked up, fear filling his eyes. For reasons he couldn't explain, the change filled him with dread.

Whoosh!

At that moment, a massive magic circle appeared in the sky, spanning hundreds of meters. The sight only deepened the fear in the demon's red eyes.

Malverna's expression remained calm and steady. She fixed her gaze on him and whispered, "Now… rest in peace."

Buzz!

From the circle, a colossal red spear, the size of a mansion, emerged—its sharp tip aimed directly at the demon.

As it slowly descended, the fear in his eyes faded, replaced instead with relief.

He parted his lips and whispered, Does this… count as freedom?

Boom!

The spear crashed down, reducing everything around it to ashes.
