Chapter 129: Caught
'Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Why is this loser here? And how does he know who I am? Was I found? But my wives didn't give me away! How the fuck did they know I was here?!' Kai's mind was running through every scenario it could to understand why the hero was here, but one man from the soldiers answered his question.
"Finally! The church is here! They received our call after all! Thank Gracia! May her light shine bright!" A soldier shouted, with more following his example.
"Thank Gracia!"
"Thank you for looking out for us, Lady Gracia!"
'At least they're not thanking Leo.' Kai thought to himself, trying to make light of the situation.
Suddenly, a beautiful woman with purple hair, golden eyes, and large tits spoke up. "Children of Gracia, fear not. We are here to help, and we shall purge these foul creatures from our land!" A massive wave of divine energy not only healed and buffed everyone more than Nadya, but the wave also killed any undead in the vicinity.
"Bless the Saintess!"
"Thank you, Saintess Celest!"
'Great, the saintess is here too. And a shit ton of holy knights from the church. Fuck me. I gotta leave here, fast.'
"So, do you wanna team up. You know, a hero X hero team-up? Pretty rare, you know. Not every day when there are two heroes around." Horith asked.
Kai looked at Horith, then at the saintess who was staring at him with passion, curiosity, and...lust?
He sighed. "Whatever, I'm already caught, so it doesn't matter anymore, I guess." He contemplated using the hero's sword, but opted against it. The church already knew he was the hero, but the populace didn't, and he wanted to keep it that way for now.
"Let's see if you can keep up." Kai vanished from his spot, appearing right behind the necromancer.
"What the fuc-arrrghhhhh!!!!!" A powerful punch blasted the necromancer upward, shattering his spine.
"Heh, asking me if I can keep up? Who do you think I am?" Horith drew back his bowstring, and an arrow made of light shimmered into existence. He fired it toward the sky, then thousands of holy arrows rained down on the necromancer.
Kai clapped his hands and activated his space magic. "Heh, show off!" Spreading his palms apart, the space around the necromancer's arms and legs froze him in place, and another space enveloped his entire body.
"W-What is this?! Let me go!"
"Give it your all," Kai shouted with a smile.
"You're pretty cool, Kai Luforioa." Horith notched another arrow, firing it toward the necromancer, and it exploded in a blazing glory of divine light, killing him.
"Nice work, Kai."
"Sure. Well, now that everything is handled, I'll be taking my leave." Kai wanted nothing to do with him and wanted to go back to his fun adventure life.
"Wait! The saintess and I really want to speak with you. Also, Lady Gracia has requested your presence." Horith knew that Kai didn't understand the customs regarding being a hero since he didn't go through the hero academy, but he was sure that Kai would listen since the goddess wanted to speak with him.
"Pass, not interested." He waved Horith off.
"Ha! I knew you would accept! Wait...What? Did you just say no?!"
"Yerp." Kai started floating toward the ground.
"H-Hold on. You know who Lady Gracia is, right?"
"The goddess of this kingdom," Kai responded.
"And you don't care to meet her?" Horith asked in shock.
"I've been avoiding you all so well up until today. Why did you have to come save the day, man? Everything was going perfectly fine."
Horith couldn't believe what Kai was saying. "W-Wait? You knew we were looking for you?"
"Yeah."
"And you were avoiding us?"
"Mhmm."
"Do you know the lengths we had to go to find where you lived, only to get no answers?"
"No, not really."
"Well, honestly, it wasn't that difficult, but I'm just trying to make a point."
"Sure, man."
"Come on, dude. We're already here. Just speak with us."
Kai sighed. He swiped his hand, killing all of the remaining undead in an instant, and finally landed on the ground. "Fine."
---
Kai sat on his sofa with a non-interested expression as Horith, Celest, a nun, and a paladin sat on the opposite sofa in front of him. They were all interested in getting to know him, but Kai didn't care too much.
'She is sexy as fuck though. I'll definitely get her pregnant.' Kai thought to himself as he looked at Celest.
"It's an honor to meet you, Sir Kai. We've been looking all over for you for the past two months." Celest said with a happy smile on her face. "We would like to welcome you with open arms to Qasyran so you can properly be recognized as the hero."
"Pass," Kai said nonchalantly.
"E-Excuse me?"
"I don't mind being the hero, but I don't want to be it right now. You can bless me, let me meet Gracia, bla bla bla, but I don't want to be publicly known yet." He said
"M-May I ask why?"
"Don't feel like doing hero shit right now." He admitted without any guilt or remorse.
"B-But this is an honor!"
"For whom?" He asked, sitting up.
"For anyone who becomes a hero!" Horith chimed in.
"Well, to me, it's nothing but work I don't care to do. So, you can do all that divine mumbo jumbo to me, but just don't publicly announce me as a hero. At least not until I graduate from the hero academy."
"You plan on going to the hero academy?" Honestly, they were all a bit bummed that Kai didn't find being the hero as interesting as they assumed, but after learning that he wished to enter the hero academy, their thoughts changed.
'He wants to earn the responsibility! What an honorable man!' Celest thought to herself.
The others had a similar thought process to hers.
'No, that's not why you weirdos. I just want to fuck a bunch of girls and get some of them pregnant. That's all. I have no interest in responsibilities.' Kai said in his mind after reading their thoughts.
"I understand. We'll hold everything off until then. However, Lady Gracia still wishes to meet you. Will it be okay if you talk with her?" Celest wondered.
"Sure. I can do that." Kai nodded. He was interested in seeing how beautiful this goddess was.
'Maybe I can get her pregnant as well, hehe!'
Celest handed him a golden medallion and told him to inject his mana into it. Once he did, his consciousness was transferred somewhere else.
