The Greece Antagonist

Chapter 135: Lacking Virtue According to the Five Elements, Fated to Be Beaten (6.4k)_4

During Cecrops' reign, both Athena and Poseidon wanted to become the guardian deity of Athens. They agreed to each offer the Athenians a gift for Cecrops to choose the one he preferred.

Poseidon struck the rock of the Acropolis with his Trident, and a spring appeared; but the water was salty and considered of little use, whereas Athena struck the rock with the Spear of Victory and an olive tree grew from it.

Cecrops determined that the olive tree was the better gift because it brought wood, oil, and food. Thus, he accepted Athena as the local guardian deity, and so the city was named Athens.

Moreover, during the reign of Erechtheus, the fourth King of Athens, it was said that he was the child of Hephaestus and the Earth, and was carefully nurtured and taught by Athena.

After him, Kings Pandion, Aegeus, and Theseus, the fifth, sixth, and seventh respectively, all received Athena's help and enlightenment to varying degrees.

Among them, Theseus was the one who sacrificed the Cretan Bull to Athena and brought the high priestess Ariadne to Athens.

It was said that the prosperity of the Mycenaen and Athenian civilizations resulted from the Minosians who escaped the cataclysm and brought with them the seeds of civilization.

Therefore, according to the above clues, Athena had long foreseen the decline of Crete Island and had made preparations in advance.

But what choices to make, she still could not decide.

At this moment, the Goddess of Wisdom paused, then bit the tip of her finger and flicked a strand of golden-red Blood Bead that merged into the forehead of the high priestess as she solemnly instructed.

"From now on, forget your original identity. You are the descendants of the city-builder Pandion!"

Luo En silently nodded. As far as he knew, there seemed to be more than one Pandion in Greek mythology, and whether their collateral bloodlines were authentic was not easy to verify.

Thus, if the King of Athens endorsed it, it was the easiest identity to adopt.

Next, Athena looked toward the Gorgon sisters standing behind Princess Ariadne, finally setting her gaze on the bronze-serpent embossed badge on Medusa's chest. She lifted her hand, gently traced her fingertip over the badge, and the simple serpent pattern transformed into the image of the Gorgon Medusa.

"This is your family emblem; she is your ancestor, her name—Pallas!"

Seeing the scene unfold before him, Luo En's mind suddenly overloaded.

—The widely circulated Gorgon Medusa emblem of Athens.

—The legendary companion of Athena, the maiden Pallas, who possessed sea Divinity.

—The two princesses who were supposed to be abducted went to Athens to cultivate the land willingly.

While everything appeared unchanged on the surface, the core of it all had completely transformed.

After briefly reflecting for a few seconds, Luo En also helped Hestia onto the ship.

As the Goddess of the Hearth boarded the deck, she looked back several times, hesitating to speak.

"You can't stay; it won't change any outcome and will further provoke His Majesty's wariness. Just keep them safe!"

Luo En offered a rational analysis, advising gravely.

Although Hestia was reluctant, she was persuadable.

Eventually, she obediently nodded, settled back into the cabin, and waited for the warship to set sail.

The two stood side by side, watching as several fully-loaded warships closed their hatches and left Crete Island, the center of attention.

"Boom! Boom! Boom!"

The thunder roared in the sky, and the turbulent flow on the ground surged like thousands of horses galloping.

At this moment, the rain was torrential, the wind was wild!

Twelve hurricanes, carrying waves and mud, swept in, almost tearing the heaven and earth apart.

Dark clouds obscured the sun, swallowing the last bit of starlight, looming oppressively,

Innumerable thunder serpents twisted and exploded across the sky, causing the earth to churn and quake.

Yet a wall flickering with weak light and slender human figures repelled the terrifying hurricanes, waves, and wild beasts back to the deep sea time and time again.

"Defying the will of the gods, stubborn and unenlightened!"

A subdued and chilling growl came from the sea, as a massive blue Trident tore through the surface, creating a gigantic vortex. Out of it, a fleet of strangely-shaped dark warships emerged, forming a massive formation of thousands.

Nearby, tens of thousands of Atlantean Soldiers, some riding dolphins, others on gigantic beasts, flanked both sides of the fleet, forming an imposing military stance.

In the end, the old man of the sea Nereus, Queen of the Sea Amphitrite, hundreds of Ocean Nymphs, and numerous sea gods stood on the deck of that dark fleet, their eyes brimming with awe for the Sea King at the center of the flagship.

Clearly, in order to win this battle of revenge easily, Poseidon had chosen to bring out all his forces, revealing his trump cards.

Because he aimed not only to win easily but also to intimidate those restless sea deities.

Even lacking one, he remained the lofty ruler of the Sea of Okeanos!

Meanwhile, Luo En and Athena, standing at a distance, exchanged glances, and the last bit of uncertainty in their hearts settled.

Finally, they had lured out their target!
