X1.6.lore - Encyclopedia Infinita
ENCYCLOPEDIA INFINITA
This section appears at the end of each Act (For example at the end of X1.6 – The Ball). It includes additional info and lore, enriching the story. Think of it as extra reading for those who want a deeper understanding of the world of the story. It also allows the author's writing schedule not to slip out of control with the publication schedule.
Thero the Robot
A class 44 machine, founded and created by the R&D arm of Oilworxx Ultracorp. Its creator, Doctor Hanimah Whirls, was able to merge the aura of a Human being, her own, into the circuitry of a machine. Thero, as it decided to call itself, is capable of Human-like emotions and intelligence. While its hardware is small, its capacities are large, giving it the ability to hack, control and learn from just about anything. While its design is state-of-the-art, it is advised to charge the robot each night before going to bed to avoid it shutting down unexpectedly.
The Heavenly Nobles
They don't eat what we do, live where we do, or think like we do, and yet--they exist. The highest caste of the Old Order, the largest benefactors of Default World, those at the top who have crowned themselves atop the peaks of a most-unrighteous system. While technically Shadows, these members of the Default are not involved in any of the operations of any societies within the Old Order. Their appearance is not typical, allowing for much more freedom of expression, both in terms of personality and aesthetics. The Heavenly Ones have transferred immense wealth from generation to generation, ensuring that their few, special, families, remain at the top of the profane pyramid. This separation from Humanity, as well as from their own humanity, has left them a group of extremely powerful, yet almost completely amoral individuals. So far removed from the life of common folk, they operate as if all is well, proud of their special, and privileged position within the hierarchy of the so-called Order of the Worlds.

Mad Hane
Patient 88. An unknown Jumper known for speaking very little and having one of the largest reservoirs of aura in Free Society. While no one knows his real name, he is said to have been born in an insane asylum within Default World, although no one knows its exact location. Legend states that Hane was born as an experiment to push the limits of a auric wielder to the absolute maximum. Some say that the constant high levels of aura flowing within Hane's body have turned the Jumper insane from a very young age.
Ditto's Gift
The ability to transform, shapeshift, and take the semblances of someone else is called Ditto's Gift. Named after the greatest shapeshifter in Free Society, Ditto Dettagli, one of the leaders of the failed revolution against the Lord, this Gift is among the hardest to master. To start, it needs a large amount of aura to sustain the appearance, therefore, the longer one stays in their new form, the more energy it will deplete in the user. Second, the user must know the image of the person or being they are shapeshifting into well enough not to leave out any details. Oftentimes, shapeshifters are caught because of something out of place, such as eye color, a strand of differently colored hair, unusual height, language and more. Ditto's Gift releases a lot of aura, so one must also know the Whisper Gift to simultaneously suppress its signal to avoid enemies picking up on it. Overall, the Gift is among the hardest to control and master, however, if one is able to wield it correctly, the sky is the limit. The Gift allows for the experienced user to infiltrate enemy lines, escape from harrowing situations, and trick others when needed. Almost all Shadows are able to use Ditto's Gift, allowing them to blend seamlessly among local populations, as government, spiritual and business leaders. Due to the power of this Auric Gift, many Jumpers develop trust issues, unsure whether they are dealing with the real person, or someone who shapeshifted into their form.
