The Goddess Made A Mistake Again

Chapter 494 - VS Peter [ Part 3 ]

"Woah, what is that?"

"I think that's the rumored special attack of Lord Peter!"

"Yes! The one that said to have once killed a horde of thousand monsters!" People started talking about the special attack as they pointed excitedly at it.

For a few seconds, everyone forgot that this wasn't a trial but just an entertaining fight.

Over at the Dragonoir's Side…

"Good!" One of the Dragonoir's clapped his hand loudly, "With that, victory is assured for Peter."

"Peter's greatest attack, Ring of Siegfried, nobody has been able to break through that attack before." Another said as he rubbed a specific spot on his back, "I still feel the pain from back then."

Percival looked at the quartz ring in the sky and asked, "Do you think he'll win?"

His question wasn't pointed at his sister, Marika.

Marika's expressionless eyes looked at the ring brother before looking down at Henry, "If that doesn't work, then no."

Percival frowned at that.

"But this move has never failed before. Surely, it won't fail this time too."

Marika's words couldn't reassure him. He felt something unnerving about this. Subtly, he glanced at his sister who was just looking at the ring.

'Hm… I wonder if…' Percival shook his head and looked ahead.

But his expression wasn't hidden from Marika, who carefully felt her brother's suspicious eyes at her.

Meanwhile, Margaret and Veronica…

"Damn!" Margaret slammed the stand before her, shocking a few, "What the hell is that?"

"That should probably be his strongest weapon." Veronica said, her expression uneasy, "Ring of Siegfried, seems like I heard those words somewhere."

Margaret's brows frowned harder at that.

If someone like Veronica heard it, then it's definitely a dangerous move.

"Don't worry, he'll win."

"Huh?" Margaret turned to Veronica, "What tells you that?"

"Look at him." Veronica had a smile as she looked at Henry, "He doesn't look the least bit scared."

Margaret looked too and smiles, "Yeah, he actually has a face that says 'Man, that's too much work.'"

"Yes!"

"Haha"

Both women laughed for a second before Veronica quickly stopped. She suddenly saw that her own words and reaction wasn't satisfactory.

'No, I shouldn't talk about someone else like that… someone so young.' Veronica gave an inner sigh and her gaze fell at Margaret, 'At least he will have a supportive life partner.'

Down at that stage…

You would wonder that I would be thinking of how fucked I am right now.

I probably would have if not for the Dear Goddess who gave me such a great gift.

My Super Amazing EYES!

So that's why I was looking at the doom ring in the sky with swords dangling like wind chimes, looking for any weakness… and I have to say, I'm impressed.

I couldn't help but smile and think Peter was truly a genius, 'That ring of his has only 7 weak spots.'

That many weak spots may seem bad, but in fact it's quite a low number.

In such a large spell, it was normal for there to be weak spots in every other places, but of course they're not visible to any eye. But that doesn't make the spell or ring user bad. Its normal for spells to have spots where its is easier to break.

If the ring user focuses on the matter then sure, the spots become smaller but it takes a lot of effort for that.

And it should have taken Peter a lot of time to drown out so many spots in such a large spell. Not just anybody can do such even with time in their hands, it also takes talent.

So that's why I believe Peter's a genius.

"But…" I look up with regret, "Until you close off all the spots, your visibly still at a disadvantage against me."

A few moments earlier, when Peter had created the large wall, it was indeed quite durable. Which is why I hit at the one spot that was the weakest of all and why it crumbled so quickly. Otherwise, any other person would have had to exert a lot more power or had to divert to get Peter.

"Cring"

A ringing sound came and the dangling swords suddenly started moving. The ring itself didn't move but the swords tied to it moved counter-clockwise to it as it quickly sped up.

"You are quite an annoying person." Peter said, "But… you are strong… and would become much stronger if given the chance to live. You would have been a powerful ally to the Dragonoir family, unfortunately, that isn't written in the fates."

"Dude… what the fuck are you saying huh?" I cringe at his words, "Who says fate anymore? And those that do are dames or people who are priests or monks, you don't get the authority to say something so cool."

Peter's brow cracked, "This… This is exactly what I meant by annoying!"

"Is that why you're up in the sky avoiding me?"

"Avoiding who! I'm not running away; in fact, it's you who'll be running!" Peter aimed at me with a finger as one of the swords unlocked itself from the ring and flew at me.

Its speed was actually very fast. Not as fast as Roaring Rush attack, but quite potent for something sharp and pointy.

"Pang!"

I swipe it easily as it lost its power and stuck down next to me.

Peter's expression didn't change as he gave a gentle swap and five swords flew at me.

"Clang!"

"Tang!"

"Pang!"

With the ease of a sword master, I deflect all five of them while keeping my gaze at Peter.

"Hm… How is he so…" Peter groans and swiped his right hand as all the swords dangling, unlocked and came flying at me.

My eyes work its magic as I slash one side cutting down three swords, duck to avoid four and bash to break five swords before quickly striking down the others with great fluidity.

"What… that's so cool!" One of the nobleman said.

"How is he able do all that… and that too against Peter's ultimate attack!"

A lot of the nobleman talk and small murmurs flow from all directions towards us.

Peter's face clouds as he felt insult upon insult with each word he heard.

"NO MORE!" He yelled while using his full power.

The Ring suddenly starts creating swords much faster than ever and they all start coming at me.

From where I was standing, there was approximately 30 of them flying and much more coming later.

'Okay, gotta finish this now.'

I raise my hands at the swords and clap loudly.

'Fierce Force - 30%'

'Slap of Doom'

"TONG!"

An ear piercing sound went towards the ring. The sound, almost visible with wind variables surrounding it, broke through all the incoming swords and hit the ring, making cracks at it.

Peter, in the sky, couldn't hold his figure and flew down.

...

"Argh… what is up with that sound?" One of the Dragonoir men said, "Why did the talisman not work?"

"Because it wasn't a sigmat attack." Percival said as the man's eyes widen, "What's worse is… Peter lost."

Down at the stage, Peter groaned loud as he felt something heavy over his chest.

Looking up, his eye widens in surprise as he finds me standing with one leg over him, my big black brick swords pointy end aimed at his neck.

Peter paused for a moment before sighing, "…So, I lost huh."

"You did."

"I admit defeat… can you get off me?"

I was about to do so when I look up at the Dragonoir seats and find Marika. She looked at me with a flash of something before muttering something.

I smile at that and look down at Peter, "It's your lucky day man."

"Let me guess, because you're letting me go." Peter said with an annoyed look but I shook my head.

"It's not that."

"Few people get to die honorably for their family." I give him a smug smile, "Now you do too!"

"Slash!"
