The Goddess Made A Mistake Again

Chapter 468 - Conversation of Queeney's

Inside one of the prosperous restaurant of the capital.

Except for the public space on the floor, the Restaurant had VIP rooms above where some customers could have the secrecy they bought for. And in one of the VIP rooms were two people that were focusing more on the talk than the expansive food laid in front of them.

"So how have you been, sister? Your visit to the place went good, I suppose?" The man in the room said.

He was wearing an expensive red coat with a white fluffy undershirt that showed of extravagance with the combination of white linen pants.

"Good? Of course not! It went horrible! That brat had the audacity to tell me where my place is!" The woman sitting opposite to him had a fair skin and if not for the angry look, many would have gazed at her.

This woman was Potonia Quenney, the stepmother to Henry Van Tax, at the moment.

The angry frown on her beautiful face didn't do nothing for the man sitting in front of her.

The man as if, long gotten acquainted with her tantrums, didn't find it unusual to see her like this after her failure… for him, woman often had tantrums whenever they couldn't get what they wanted.

"It was foolish of you to think that you would get it like that-" He snapped his fingers, "just like you got everything else. Didn't I tell you to be cautious when dealing with him?"

"Damn being cautious! If I can, I would rip his head off and take everything that should rightfully belong to me, DAMN IT!" She banged her hand on the table, moving everything by a bit.

"Sister…" Vaughn Queeney, the older brother to Potonia, spoke calmly with a bored expression, "You must first overcome your own burdens before facing forward, so quiet down for now and think logically."

"Take this, it will soothe your problems." Vaughn filled a glass of reddish purple wine and gave it to her, "It's a trending drink."

Potonia gave out a big breath before taking the glass and drinking it. But instead of soothing her, it only made her twitch her brows, which didn't escape from her brother.

"Is it not to your taste?"

"No… it's just… I had a few bottles of this back at that brat's place." She said with a mock laughter, "That brat may be arrogant but he has good tastes in wine."

Vaughn finally raised his brow, showing some emotion. He had tasted this close to divine wine before and wanted to buy a batch of it. But not only was it sold very quickly, it was only available to a select few people.

Which made Vaughn wonder how many other delicious stuff did Henry had and how far did his connection went… did it surpass the Queeney family?

Probably not… no, it definitely shouldn't.

The Queeney family has been around for a long time than the broken down Tax House. No way could they afford to stand past them on a political standard… the wine matter might just be something else.

Regardless, it made Vaughn speak out to his sister, "Potonia, you know how much Father and I have spent on you, right?"

"Hmm!" Potonia glanced up, her eyes sharpening, "What is that supposed to mean?"

"It means that, it's time for you to return some of those investments… probably through the family you are currently aligned to." Vaughn said, his eyes sharpening in another way.

"And you think that I'm not doing that? Do you know how stuck that bastard is!" Potonia screamed, "I give him the list of people for him to rearrange some of his workplace as you requested and he shot it down."

"They weren't just recommendations that I brought for friends, but capable people and he denied it… He Denied Me!" Potonia gulped down the glass and poured more.

It hurt Vaughn to see his sister gulping down his expensive and limited bottles as he frowned, "He saw through the intentions to get our people in his business, it wasn't wise of us to ask it so soon."

"But that is not what I meant… there are other ways you can get him to benefit us."

"What other way?"

"In terms of beauty, you are quite the woman, sister and your age is relatively fine as well."

Potonia's eyes widened and she spit out what was in her mouth, "You want me to fuck him?!"

"Fuck is such a brutish word… maybe seduce him, even make love to him if possible."

"You believe he'll fall for that?" Potonia laughed, "Even if he did, why would I do something like that?"

"Why wouldn't you?" Vaughn said, "You get a young puppy, large establishments, money… much more than a woman your age could ask for."

Potonia raised her brow at the blatant insult, yet couldn't help but actually think about it.

'Well it's not really a bad idea. The only thing stepping me back is that he is a fucking bastard and is actually a literal bastard, which would mean stooping down to his level.'

'But it's not like I am getting any kind of action and…' Her lips curved up at the thought of Henry's physic, 'And he's not too bad looking… tall, handsome and I'm sure his hiding quite the pecks under that shirt.'

'Now all that matter is, how big is his package?'

It was noon at the Screeching Villa.

Inside were me and the Bishop laughing as we ate some refreshments.

"That is a good story, father. I didn't think you would have such adventures."

"Haha… but you do know that I told all that in confidence, Lord Henry. Please don't speak of this to anyone… otherwise, my reputation would be at stake." The Bishop said with an embarrassed laugh as he flushed at the expansive wine.

"Of course not… since we are free right now, I was thinking of asking something of you." I say.

"Please do. You have already done a lot for me."

I nod, "I was thinking of the Secula Village. Since its already abandoned, why don't you build a church around there?"

"A Church?"

"Yes, the place is big and the souls of that village and people around here could do nicely if a church were to build there." I say with the most innocent smile.

The Bishop smiled, "That would be a fine thought… alas, the church doesn't have money in its coffers to spare at building a new church."

"Then why don't I chime in, surely that would help."

The Bishop's face brightened up before dimming, "No no, child. You have already done so much. I or the church can't ask more of you."

"Don't worry, father. Why don't you first talk with headquarters when you return and then we'll think about it."

Before the Bishop could deny, a guard with a stiff expression, came, "Sir, someone from the church came."

"Oh!" The Bishop gasped, "That was quiet fast of them, let me-"

I sit him down, "Why don't you eat, father. Let me bring them in."

"Alright"

I get up, follow the guard and finally ask, "What's the problem?"

"We've tried telling her, boss. But she just won't listen and just keeps on threatening us."

"What? Who is she and what does she want?"

"She says she's an emissary from the church and wants to enter the Crys Cave."

"The Crys Cave? Why would the church want anything with my Crys Cave?" I wonder and look back, 'That guy didn't say anything about that.'

'So either I'm facing a conman here or trouble has come knocking again.'
