Chapter 18: Strong and Strong
Sarah's heart suddenly tensed up.
She habitually pressed the switch of the living room light by the door.
"Snap!"
No response, the light is broken again.
The voltage of this shabby apartment is unstable, and it is common for electrical appliances to break.
Just as her eyes focused on the figure behind the curtain, the street lights outside the street kept flickering, and it felt like the shadows of the furniture in the room bathed in intermittent light suddenly lengthened.
The light and shadow of the electric lamp kept flickering, and the next second, the street lamp seemed to be unable to support it, and it made a crackling electronic wail, and then most of the light in Sarah's house disappeared, leaving only the night wind blowing in from the open window, lifting the curtains.
At two o'clock in the morning on the edge of the Upper East Side of Gotham City, there may be brilliant lights in other places, but in this boundary community between the slums and the bustling city, it seems dark and quiet everywhere, and even the window has become like the mouth of a beast that chooses people to eat.
Sarah just whispered, but the other party did not answer. She could only be sure that the person behind the curtain was definitely not an illusion she saw.
"Hoo--"
The other person's breathing was dull and hoarse, which aroused Sarah's fear of the unknown and her terrible imagination of the indescribable. A chill ran from Sarah's tailbone to the back of her head, and goose bumps appeared all over her body. She knew her face was pale without looking in the mirror.
The only thing that kept her from turning around and running was the body outline that was very similar to hers.
Without getting close, she bent her knees slightly, prepared to jump out of the door behind her, and called out softly again: "Dana, is that you?"
This time, the other party finally responded.
"Sarah...La..."
The familiar and unfamiliar voice did not sound like a response, but more like some kind of desperate roar.
This is not the voice of her sister!
Why does it sound more like...Sarah's own voice?
Sarah did not blink, secretly moved her bag to her left hand, and touched the T-shaped stick that she had hung behind the door all year round on her right hand.
In this shabby apartment, she had encountered more than once a crazy homeless man who got drunk and knocked on doors in the middle of the night.
Sarah's heart was pounding wildly, and the tension accelerated the blood flow in her veins. She tried to calm her breath and widened her eyes.
As luck would have it, at this moment, not only did a gust of wind blow into the room and blow up the curtains. Coincidentally, the moonlight also peeked out from the clouds.
With the bright moonlight, Sarah finally saw the "person".
No!
She was no longer a person.
Ignoring her half pale face without a trace of blood, all of Sarah's attention was attracted by the right half of the face that was completely rotten.
What a terrible face it was!
The skin was completely gone, revealing the eyeballs that were dry like dead fish eyes, black cheek muscles, and disgusting gums with several broken teeth.
Her left chest was completely rotten, not only revealing a terrible cavity, but also the light and shadow behind her body could be vaguely seen through her body.
Zombies! ?
The most outrageous thing was that the half intact face of this female zombie was actually her Sarah Lance!
"Ah——" Even with her impressive martial arts skills, even if she lived in Gotham City every day full of violence and death, Sarah in this life was just an ordinary person.
This terrifying face immediately aroused her stress response. With a fierce kick of her left foot, a round stool facing the gate was kicked away by her and flew towards the other party with a whistle.
The flying stool, which was enough to smash an ordinary person's head and bleed, just flew in front of the female zombie, and the monster suddenly waved its bony left claw and slapped the wooden stool into pieces with a slap!
The aura of fear filled Sarah's chest in an instant.
She could well imagine that if she didn't do something, the damn zombie would tear her body apart and eat her flesh and blood in the next round.
Without even a second's hesitation, Sarah looked at the female zombie that was rushing over and yanked the one-and-a-half-meter-high shoe cabinet next to the door out.
"Bang!"
Another blow blew up the shoe cabinet.
At least the tragic death of the shoe cabinet bought Sarah a second of time, and she left the house without looking back. She didn't go to the stairs, but flew to the window at the end of the corridor, and jumped directly from the window that was only about half a meter long and wide, jumping from the third floor to the ground, adjusting her posture in mid-air, and doing three front flips when she landed.
Turning back!
I saw that the zombie was unlucky enough to be stuck at the window, and her uncoordinated limbs hit the window frame hard, making a loud noise.
The lights in many rooms of the apartment building came on, and then quickly went out.
In the slums of Gotham City, the most unreliable people are your neighbors.
No one knows whether any loud noise in your room is caused by a bad domestic violence? Or a bloody purge by a local gang? Or a failed arrest by a crappy policeman?
In short, they have done everything except saving your life and provided all support except practical help.
Besides yourself, the only one you can rely on is your loved ones.
Seeing that the zombies could not catch up for a while, Sarah ran hard and took out her mobile phone to call her sister.
"Answer it! Answer it! Answer the phone! Damn sister——"
Sarah almost cried.
Of course she knew that her elder sister had gone to Dubai with that mysterious rich second generation to live happily ever after. Regardless of whether her elder sister could fly on a branch and become a phoenix, just because she mentioned that the black mask might be Ange's, she dismissed her elder sister. Consider it a life-saving straw.
At this moment, a second loud noise came from behind Sarah, and the female zombie actually smashed the window sill on the third floor of the apartment building and jumped down.
Many of the wood chips and glass fragments that exploded in the sky were stuck on the female zombie's body, but she didn't notice it and stepped heavily on the ground, even breaking several old sidewalk tiles.
Seeing Sarah who was already a hundred meters away, the female zombie chased after her with a somewhat uncoordinated pace.
Sarah heard the noise and turned around, only to find the monster chasing after him relentlessly. She was even more frightened.
Finally, the phone was connected.
"Sarah? What a coincidence, I just got off the plane." Dana was stunned by her sister's scream as soon as she answered the phone.
"Sister! Come and save me! There is a zombie that looks a lot like me and is chasing me! That thing can call my name, so it's probably coming for me."
Sarah's screams on the phone echoed on Black Canary's phone.
Normally, Ange would not care.
As a time traveler, he was sensitive to the huge crisis hidden in Sarah Lance's words.
When Black Canary saw Ange approaching seriously, she immediately realized something and turned on her voice.
"Sarah, are you kidding me?"
"What a joke! Fxxk! If you don't come to save me, I'm going to collect your sister's body. Oh my god! That's a zombie. Maybe I'll turn into a monster like that if I get bitten. For mom's sake Please save me," Sarah screamed.
"Where are you?"
"I was just at home. I definitely can't wait for the police, and I don't know how to contact Batman. How about I lure the monster to the old place where we used to hide and seek, and you bring your invincible boss over." Sarah spoke very fast. Quickly, mixed with her breathing, there was the sound of destruction of objects not far away in the background, and occasionally one or two weird growls.
Ange grabbed the phone from Black Canary: "I'm Ange."
"Boss! Save me! As long as you save me, you can do whatever you ask me to do!"
"Okay! I'll be there in ten minutes."
"So fast!?" This time, even Sarah was shocked.
After cutting off the phone, Ange's eyes fell on a helicopter not far from the Gulfstream aircraft that was ready to take off.
Without saying a word, he took the people over directly.
"I have commandeered this plane!" Angela opened the cabin door and got on.
The pilot was confused, but as a professional pilot with principles, credibility and professional ethics: "Sorry! Sir, this plane was booked by Mr. Dupont, you have no right..."
Before he finished speaking, Louis next to Ange very alertly opened the chained suitcase in his hand. Ange very smoothly took out two stacks of [Franklin] and threw them in the pilot's face.
"Okay! Boss, where are you going?"
There is no beauty in professional ethics! ?
