Chapter 124: Royal Chamber
The stark contrast from one room to another hit Lucas immediately, leaving him momentarily stunned as he took in the well-lit space before him.
The medieval theme was still there, but that was where the similarities ended. This room actually looked lived in: its walls painted, a massive bed in the center, a comfortable sofa nearby, and colorful paintings spread across the space, giving it a strange yet inviting elegance.
Lucas paused for a second, considering his situation, but then shrugged off his hesitation and started moving slowly across the room.
Honestly, the whole thing screamed "trap," but what choice did he have? With four guardians waiting in the other room, the others would either be cut down where they stood, or they'd make a run for it soon and end up exactly where he was now.
And if that happened would the guardians just stay put? Were they stuck in the other room, unable to follow? He had no clue, and he sure as hell wasn't about to risk his neck figuring it out.
Thinking about the guardian, Lucas realized the only reason he and the others were still alive was because they weren't actually that "skilled".
It had taken him a while to notice, but the longer he watched them fight, the clearer it became: they were just using basic combat techniques, the kind anyone could learn with training.
They seemed experienced, sure, but there was nothing magical or supernatural about their moves, just simple sword play. Actually, if it weren't for their ridiculously high levels, they'd be pretty easy to take down.
That said, their raw power and speed alone made them a nightmare to deal with. Fighting wasn't an option. The only thing they could do was keep running.
With his initial hesitation about the room overcome, Lucas took a longer look around, and a realization hit him; This had to be the personal chamber of the lord buried here.
The luxurious furniture, the paintings, the sheer difference from the previous room—yeah, this was definitely someone's private quarters. But why the hell would they replicate a lord's bedroom inside a tomb? Just how seriously did these people take this whole burial thing?
He shook his head, amused. Someone had gone to great lengths to make sure everything was exactly the same, or so he assumed judging by all the neat details.
Well, not that it mattered to him. Right now, all he saw was a treasure trove waiting to be looted.
He started with the wardrobe, its polished oak doors opening with a soft creak. Inside, rows of luxurious clothing hung neatly in place—richly embroidered coats, fine silk shirts, and boots that looked like they had never touched dirt.
For a moment, he glanced down at his own clothes, tattered, worn, and barely holding together in places. The worst part was that this was just their normal state; they had already looked like this when he first got them. But they came with good bonuses, which was the only reason he hadn't swapped them out for something better-looking.
The pieces in front of him, though, couldn't even be identified, which meant they were just regular clothes. Still… they did look nice, and realistically, there might come a time when he'd need to appear more presentable. With that in mind, he grabbed a few of the better-looking outfits and stored them away.
Next, he moved to the bedside table. The first drawer had nothing but writing supplies like quills, ink bottles, parchment. The second, however, contained a small pouch. When he peeked inside, he found a handful of coins of great value. He pocketed them and kept searching.
His eyes then landed on the massive rug covering most of the floor. Something about it seemed… off.
Kneeling, he lifted one edge and sure enough there was a hidden compartment beneath. Grinning, he wedged his glass into the lock and popped it open. Inside, he found a small chest filled with polished gemstones and a bundle of old letters.
Lucas briefly skimmed one of the letters, but it was just a love letter. Not exactly useful. The gems, however, looked valuable enough, so he used Identify to see what they were all about.

Emberglow Opal
Shimmering with deep reds and flickers of gold, this opal seems to hold the last embers of a dying fire within its core. Coveted by nobles and artisans alike, its warm glow adds a touch of brilliance to jewelry and royal ornaments, symbolizing both passion and resilience.
So… basically just a fancy gemstone?
Lucas shrugged. As long as it was valuable, he wasn't going to complain. He tossed it into his spatial ring and moved on.
Then came the paintings.
Most were generic landscapes, but one, in particular, caught his eye: a lone warrior standing on a cliff, sword in hand, staring down at a burning city. Something about it just looked right. Without much thought, he stored it away, along with a few others that seemed worth something.
As he continued searching, he found an ornate dresser. Rifling through the drawers, he came across a silver ring nestled inside a small velvet box.
A spatial ring.
His pulse quickened. What could be hidden inside?
Excited, he slipped it onto his finger and sent his consciousness into the space.
Nothing. Completely empty.
A wave of disappointment hit him, but it didn't last long. Sure, it was empty, but this thing had way more space than the one he'd inherited from Faruk. His old ring was already getting cramped, having a bigger storage was a massive win.
And that got him thinking.
Why leave all this perfectly good furniture behind now that he actually had space for it?
He still wanted to buy a house someday, and furnishing one wasn't cheap. This was practically free real estate.
Without hesitation, he started storing everything. The massive bed, the wardrobe, the sofa, piece by piece they disappeared into his new ring. Even the bookshelf, and yeah, the books went in too. The rug? Why not. It was fancy enough.
By the time he was done, the room looked almost bare. That's when his eyes landed on a small wooden box sitting on the shelf.
Curious, he picked it up and flipped it open. Inside, he found several of the same red crystals he'd seen in the other room, glowing faintly.
Finally having time to properly examine them, he activated Identify.
Health Jewel
A rare crystal infused with condensed life energy. When used, it permanently increases Health by a small amount.
Lucas blinked.
Wait… permanently?
He'd expected them to just restore Health or maybe be used for making potions, but this was way better.
And that description—"infused with condensed life energy." Did that mean he could make these using his life aura?
It seemed like a possibility, but if it were that simple, he could just keep boosting his Health until he became immortal. That was obviously too good to be true, so there had to be more to it. Still, even as they were, they were an incredible find.
Individually, the boost probably wasn't much, but with the number he'd already gathered from this tomb, it was starting to add up.
He quickly checked the blue ones to confirm a suspicion.
Mana Jewel
A crystal that holds traces of magical energy. When used, it permanently increases Mana by a small amount.
As expected, they followed the same logic.
The difference in rarity was obvious, though. The Health Jewels were clearly harder to come by, which made sense—the ratio of Mana Jewels to Health Jewels in his haul was more than two to one.
Satisfied, he stored them away.
Finally, on the now-empty desk, he spotted a worn leather-bound book. The lord's journal.
He hesitated, hand hovering over it. Digging through someone's personal writings felt… intrusive. Then again, Faruk's journal had been very useful to him.
With that thought, he grabbed it and tucked it away. Maybe this one would have something valuable too.
After giving one last look around the now almost empty room, surprisingly free of hidden traps, Lucas felt a flicker of anxiety creep in.
Sure, he had taken quite the haul, stuffing his ring with valuables, but as his gaze fell on the pulsating orb inside it, he couldn't help but feel a little disappointed. He still hadn't found anything to help open it.
Sighing, he turned toward a door at the far end of the room. The others wouldn't be long, if they were still alive, and once they saw he had completely plundered the place, they wouldn't waste time sticking around. That meant he wouldn't have much time to explore whatever was on the other side.
Better get started, Lucas thought, gripping the handle and slipping inside.
The moment he entered, his eyes swept across the dimly lit chamber, torches casting flickering light over the space. But soon, his attention locked onto one thing.
At the far end of the room stood a massive altar, surrounded by various objects, including a few caskets, but what truly caught his eye were the perfectly preserved fruits resting on top.
His eyes lit up.
That was it. That's what he needed!
Just as he was about to move, a massive figure emerged from the shadows nearby.
Oh god, not again.
Lucas braced himself, already dreading the sight of the guardians so soon after barely escaping them. But what stepped out of the darkness wasn't a guardian. It was something else.
Towering at about 8'2", its entire body was made of solid rock, carved into the shape of a warrior. A massive statue, now moving straight toward him.
Royal Knight — Lvl ??
Of course…
