THE GHOST ASSASSIN ☠️

Chapter 5: Chapter 5: Commander Vex

As they arrived at the safehouse, Ava and Rachel were waiting, their arms crossed and a stern look on their faces.

"Drinking in the car?" Ava asked, her voice disapproving.

Ryker held up his hands in defense. "Hey, we were just celebrating a successful mission!"

Ava raised an eyebrow. "And dancing in the club? Ryker, you were supposed to be providing overwatch, not getting your groove on."

Ryker chuckled. "Hey, I can multitask. I kept an eye on the crowd while busting a move."

Rachel shook her head. "And Kael, you're not exactly known for your dancing skills. What were you thinking?"

Kael shrugged, a small smile on his face. "I was just trying to blend in."

Ava sighed. "Well, next time, let's keep the celebrating for after the mission, and next time, Ryker do the dancing on the rooftop and not the club's dance floor."

The team shared a laugh, and the tension was broken. They knew they had each other's backs, no matter what.

The Division's commanders gathered in the dimly lit conference room, their faces somber. Director Arlo's eyes blazed with anger, but the others looked worried, even fearful.

"Specter's death is a disaster," Commander Vex said, his voice low. "He was our best operative, and now he's gone."

Lieutenant Krieg nodded in agreement. "We can't let this killer go Scott free. We need to take action, now."

Dr. Elara's eyes were narrowed. "I'm analyzing the data from Specter's mission, but it's clear that this killer is highly skilled. We need to be careful."

Agent Nova spoke up, her voice tight. "I knew Specter. He was a friend. And now he's dead, because of this...this monster."

Commander Vex slammed his fist on the table. "Enough! We need to focus on taking down this ghost, not mourning our losses. We can't let him win."

Director Arlo's eyes locked onto Commander Vex. "You're right. We need to take action. Commander Vex, I want you to lead the operation to take down this killer. Use every resource we have."

Commander Vex nodded, his face set with determination. "I won't fail, Director. I'll take care of this killer, no matter what it takes."

The commanders nodded, their faces grim. They knew the stakes were high, but they were determined to take down the killer before he take them all down and restore the Division's power.

But as they left the conference room, they couldn't shake off the feeling of unease. Specter's death had sent a chill down their spines, and they knew they were in for a fight.

It is now three days that specter has been assassinated and no one is hearing from the killer, still no traces of the killer.

Kael's team have now started working on their next target.

"Who is our next target?" Karl asked

Lena answered him with her eyes still fixed on the computer "thank you for the reminder. With Specter out of the picture, the next target on the list would be commander vex."

Commander Vex is a ruthless and cunning leader, known for his brutal tactics and unwavering loyalty to the Division. He will stop at nothing to eliminate Kael and his team, and take control of the city.

The team knows that taking down Commander Vex won't be an easy task, but they're determined to bring him down and disrupt the Division's operations. They begin to gather intel on Commander Vex's movements and plan a strategic attack.

Meanwhile, Director Arlo is furious about Specter's death and demands that Commander Vex take immediate action to capture or kill Kael and his team. Commander Vex, eager to prove himself, starts to make his move.

Kael's team gathered around the holographic display, their eyes scanning the intel on their next target. Ava's fingers flew across the keyboard, her eyes locked on the screen.

"Alright, I've got something," she said, her voice steady. "Commander Vex's schedule shows him at his private residence tonight. But be warned, his house is a fortress. He's got multiple layers of security, including biometric scanners, motion detectors, and a team of heavily armed guards."

Ryker's eyes narrowed. "That's not going to make it easy. We'll need to be precise and quick if we're going to take him down."

Kael nodded, his eyes locked on the display. "I've got an idea. Lena, can you hack into his security system and disable the cameras and alarms?"

Lena nodded, her fingers already flying across her keyboard. "I'm on it. But I'll need a few minutes to bypass his firewalls.

"You have all the day, we attack at night," Ana replied.

Meanwhile, in the Division, director Arlo's face was grim as he sat behind his desk, flanked by Rachel and Amari. "Specter's death is a blow to our operations," he said, his voice tight with anger. "But Commander Vex has promised to take down the killer."

Rachel's eyes narrowed. "I've analyzed the data from Specter's mission. This killer is highly skilled. I'm not sure even Vex can take him down."

Amari's face was set with determination. "Vex will not fail, Director. He has a personal stake in this now. Specter was his friend."

Director Arlo's eyes locked onto Amari. "See that he doesn't fail, Amari. I want this killer taken down, no matter what it takes."

Rachel spoke up, her voice steady. "I'll work with Vex to analyze the data and come up with a plan. But we need to be careful. This killer has already taken down one of our top operatives."

Amari nodded. "I'll make sure Vex understands the risks. But he's determined to see this through. He's promised to bring the killer's head to us on a platter."

Director Arlo's face twisted into a snarl. "See that he does. I want this killer taken down."

The three of them sat in silence for a moment, their faces set with determination. They knew the stakes were high, but they were ready to do whatever it took to take down the killer and restore the Division's power.

Time was flying so fast, the day was getting dark as the sun went down, in the sanctuary's safehouse, Lena was working on her computer as usual.

Lena: (frustrated) "Guys, I'm trying to hack into Vex's system here... can you please keep it down?"

Jax: "Aww, come on Lena! We're brainstorming our band name!"

Ryker: "Yeah, and I think 'The Shadow Squad' is a great name!"

Kael: "How about 'The Stealthy Ninjas of Doom'?"

Lena: "You're all ridiculous. Can we please focus on the mission?"

Jax: "Okay, okay... but I'm still writing the lyrics to 'Sneaking in the Shadows'... (starts singing) 'We sneak and we slide, through the shadows we glide...'"

Ryker: (laughing) "That's actually kind of catchy!"

Kael: (smirking) "Yeah, Jax might be onto something here."

Lena: (rolling her eyes) "You're all impossible. (pauses) Wait, I've got something... (excitedly) I've hacked vex house alarm and his CCTV camera, now it is time to strike.

Jax: "Now that's what I call a mission!"

Ryker: "Time to put our skills to the test!"

Kael: "Let's get to work, team."

The team huddled around the holographic display, their eyes scanning the blue print of Commander Vex's house.

They planned their approach, kael will sneak as usual Into the house, Ryker on the closest rooftop as usual with his sniper and Jax waiting In the car.

Kael stood in front of the mirror in the safehouse, his eyes scanning his reflection. He was dressed in his ninja attire - a black shinobi shozoku, complete with a hood to conceal his face. His pants were tucked into his tabi boots, and his sleeves were tied back with cord, revealing his muscular arms and he strapped on his sword.

Kael's eyes gleamed with intensity as he checked his gear. He wore a black mask to cover his face as usual. He was a master of stealth, a ghost in the night.

He glanced over at Ava and Lena, who were busy monitoring the situation from their computers. "Ready?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

Ava nodded, her eyes locked on the screen. "Vex is at home, alone. The guards are patrolling the perimeter, but we've got a window of opportunity."

Kael nodded, his face set with determination. "Let's do this."

Kael, Jax and Ryker moved swiftly with Jax at the front of the wheel, when they got close to their destination, they split as usual .

With a final check of his sword, Kael slipped out into the night, disappearing into the shadows like a phantom.

Kael crept through the darkness, his eyes adjusting to the shadows. He was alone in Vex's house, the others waiting in their designated positions.

Ava and Lena were back at the safehouse, monitoring the situation from a distance. Ryker was perched on the rooftop, providing overwatch. Jax waited in the car, ready to extract them at a moment's notice.

Kael saw a guard standing not far away from him, he sneaked forward to take him down, but before he could move closer, the guard dropped, he looked surprised, he looked up and saw Ryker on the rooftop. Ryker gave him a thumbs up and signalled to him to continue moving.

Kael's heart pounded in his chest as he moved deeper into the house. He knew Vex was here, somewhere. He could feel it.

Suddenly, a floorboard creaked beneath his foot. Kael froze, his senses on high alert.

Vex's voice echoed from the room ahead, "Welcome, I've been expecting you, I know you will come for me."

Kael's eyes narrowed, his hand on the hilt of his sword. He knew he had to be careful. Vex was not a man to be underestimated.

And then, the lights flickered to life, illuminating the room in a blinding glare...

Vex's eyes scanned the room looking for the killer, his heart racing with anticipation.

But what he saw made his blood run cold...
