Chapter 163: World Giant Beast
The next morning.
After Kana and the others had rested well, they were already mounted on the Land Birds, waiting. Soon, they followed Maxim to the outskirts of the lush forest.
Upon arriving at the outskirts of the forest, Abis couldn't help but close her eyes and quietly immerse herself in feeling the vibes.
"The nature of this area is rejoicing, the wind blowing is jubilant, the wind is very excited, very joyful."
Abis, who could "hear the wind," was sensing the situation here.
Judging the overall state of this entire area through the sound of the wind at least gave them some psychological preparation.
"Can't you hear the danger?" Bobo couldn't help but ask.
After all, there was an incredibly powerful and nearly invincible Giant Beast inside. The winds should warn Abis, alerting her to the danger inside.
Abis simply shook her head: "The wind doesn't sense any danger, only joy."
Kana was not surprised by this.
The Giant Beast isn't really a threatening creature; in fact, it is more positive than most of the lives and races in the world.
"Alright, let's go in first."
Kana spoke and let Maxim lead the way.
Everyone rode the Land Birds and began to traverse inward. Normally, being animals, the Land Birds should feel danger, but traversing through this forest, they seemed very happy and excited.
For the animals and plants of the world, the area around the Tree of Life is indeed a very favorable zone.
It allows them to overlook their biological instincts, enabling them to live peacefully within the area.
They hadn't gone very far when Maxim stopped and looked solemn.
"Let's continue on foot from here."
Kana and the others dismounted, took out their weapons, and slowly moved forward under Maxim's lead.
Suddenly, a shimmering light like water ripples appeared in front of Maxim.
Maxim waved his hand: "These are the abilities of the Big Monster, having some deceptive properties."
After speaking, he passed through them.
The others followed closely behind.
After passing through the barrier formed by the Illusion Technique, they saw a more lush area.
The further they went, the more apparent the vibrant energy became, and even the air they breathed felt refreshing.
"Is this within the Tree of Life's range?" Porter couldn't help but sigh. She had only heard about it during previous travels and never thought she'd actually get close to the Tree of Life's range.
From ahead, Miguel West responded: "The true range of the Tree of Life is even more comforting than here. Just standing there can cleanse your body's fatigue."
"Watch out!" Maxim called from the front.
The rest quickly crouched down.
They heard a roaring breath, uncertain what kind of Giant Beast's breathing could sound like thunder.
Kana stood up and looked into the distance.
Within view, a Giant Beast like a small mountain was crouched there.
The Giant Beast was covered in emerald-gray-brown scale armor, which looked more like massive stone slabs.
Neatly and densely arranged upon it, moss and plants could be seen in the gaps between the scales, with additional flora growing on its back.
If it weren't somewhat out of place with its surroundings, it would have been a perfect camouflage.
The Giant Beast's appearance somewhat resembled a combination of a lizard and a turtle, its broad and heavily armored back resembling a turtle shell.
However, it had elongated limbs, with massive and exaggerated hooked claws visible.
The size of one claw, Kana felt, was as large as a grown person.
On its somewhat lizard-like triangular head grew a pair of antlers resembling tree branches.
The antlers boasted branches and leaves, as if trees truly sprouted on its head.
A long tail extended outward, occasionally swaying fiercely, kicking up clouds of dust.
"What a beautiful creature," Abis couldn't help but say.
This creature was filled with elements of nature that, at first glance, wouldn't lead one to label it with evil connotations.
Abis, who could "hear the wind," could especially feel the wind swirling around the Giant Beast and joyfully dancing by its side.
Raelia looked at the Giant Beast's mountain-like form and couldn't help but widen her eyes: "Are we going to deal with such a creature?"
This statement brought somber expressions to the Night Watchers nearby.
If this were the case, it would be extremely terrifying.
No matter how one saw it, this wasn't a creature they could handle.
Even with their blessing as Night Watchers, they'd need to consider what kind of loss they'd incur to take it down.
"Who said we're going to deal with it?" Kana looked at Raelia with an odd expression and spoke.
Then, she directly stepped up.
"Wait!" Maxim hurriedly called out.
However, Kana just waved her hand: "Don't worry."
Alyris followed directly behind Kana, and Bobo quickly ran after them.
Seeing this, the Night Watchers all promptly followed.
"Are they crazy?" An Elf couldn't help but comment on how they went forward without understanding anything.
Even if the Giant Beast occupied their place of life, they didn't lose their heads. Instead, they chose to approach carefully after understanding the situation.
This group of Night Watchers acted far more reckless than them.
