Chapter 2: Chapter 2
The Los Angeles sun was shining brightly, warming the morning and giving the city that vibrant golden glow. Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Kim Kardashian's younger sisters, parked their car in the driveway of their sister's house, laughing and chatting. The two always had a busy schedule, but they had managed to find a time to visit Kim. It was what they called "quality family time," and Kim made sure to bring her sisters together whenever she could.
"It's been a while since we've been here," Kylie commented, adjusting her sunglasses and looking at the landscape.
"Yeah, it seems like our sister has managed to keep a little peace around here, huh?" Kendall said with a smile. "It almost seems like we're far from all the hustle and bustle."
The two got out of the car and walked towards Kim's driveway, but suddenly something caught their attention. Kendall stopped abruptly and lightly touched Kylie's arm, signaling for her to look toward one of the houses next door.
"Look who's over there," Kendall said, trying not to be obvious, but clearly fascinated by what she saw.
Next door, in the backyard of the neighboring house, a tall man with an impressive physique and distinguished appearance was training. He looked to be in his early forties, maybe a little older, with a marked and expressive face that gave the idea of experience and intensity.
With his torso bare and a focused posture, Tom was completely oblivious to the two, focused on his training. He punched a punching bag hard, alternating quick blows with agile movements, as if he were channeling all his energy into each punch.
Kylie let out a low sigh and looked at Kendall with a mischievous smile.
"My God, he's so... so hot!" Kylie commented, trying to contain her laughter.
"I know!" — Kendall agreed, tilting her head slightly to get a better look. — I didn't know Kim had neighbors like that... Interesting.
The two of them watched for a few moments, enchanted. The way he moved, with silent and controlled dexterity, made it clear that he was no ordinary guy. There was something intense and fascinating about him, a mix of strength and mystery that held their attention.
— Who could he be? — Kylie asked, curious.
Kendall shrugged, but her eyes shone with curiosity.
— I have no idea. But if I were ten years older, maybe I could find out for myself — she replied, smiling.
Kylie laughed and pushed her sister lightly.
— Don't be fooled, Kenny, we don't have to be older to give fate a chance.
Kendall rolled her eyes, still smiling.
— Please, Kylie, a little decorum. But I admit that... he really is quite a sight.
The two said goodbye and headed to the entrance of Kim's house, still laughing among themselves. When they finally entered the mansion, Kim was in the entrance hall, waiting for her sisters with a smile.
"Took you long enough, huh? I thought you had gotten lost on the way," Kim joked, giving each of them a hug.
"You have no idea, Kim," Kendall said, smiling mysteriously.
Kim frowned, noticing the sisters' secretive tone.
"What happened? You look strange."
Kylie looked at Kendall, as if asking for permission to share the discovery.
"It's your new neighbor..." Kendall began, raising her eyebrows suggestively. "He was outside, training. And Kim, he's a sight to behold!"
Kim looked at her sisters, not understanding.
"My neighbor? What neighbor?"
Kylie sighed, feigning impatience.
"Kim, the guy next door! An older man, in his early forties, super fit… seriously, he's different. He has a kind of… secret agent vibe, I can't explain it. And he was shirtless! — he said, with a sparkle in his eyes.
Kim crossed her arms and laughed.
"You two are impossible!" — she replied, shaking her head. "I haven't even seen him yet. I've been so busy with work stuff that I barely noticed he moved in."
Kendall and Kylie exchanged a knowing look.
"You should, Kim. It's not every day you have a neighbor like that, especially one who looks like he came out of an action movie," Kendall suggested.
"Yeah, he looks like he spent years preparing for something. Those muscles don't belong to someone who only goes to the gym…" Kylie added, laughing.
Kim raised her eyebrows, a little intrigued.
"You two are really interested in him, huh?"
Kylie rolled her eyes, trying to hide her enthusiasm.
— "Kim, seriously, you know I like different guys. But he… he has something more. I don't know, maybe it's his mysterious manner, or the fact that he looks like a retired secret agent, who knows?"
Kim laughed out loud.
— Okay, okay! I'll keep an eye on him. But don't worry, he probably just wants peace and quiet. He's probably just another British guy trying to escape the rain.
Kendall and Kylie exchanged a look and laughed, but Kim's comment made them both think. There was something about this man that seemed different from the other neighbors. It was almost as if he had a history that no one in the neighborhood could ever guess.
Kim led them into the living room, where the aromas of fresh coffee and tea filled the air. The sisters settled into one of the plush leather couches, and Kim began serving drinks and snacks.
"By the way, do you guys know his name?" Kim asked as she set the teacup down on the table.
Kendall shook her head. "No, we were just… admiring. Without asking, let's say," she said, smiling mischievously.
Kylie picked up a cookie and nibbled on it thoughtfully. "He has a different energy. Like, if I had to guess, I'd say he used to be in the military or something."
Kim raised an eyebrow curiously. "Military? What kind of thing have you guys been imagining about my neighbor?"
The three of them laughed as Kim served them drinks, but the younger sisters' interest was evident. They continued to chat about trivial matters, but the "new neighbor" kept looming in their minds. Kim, for her part, was already feeling intrigued.
When the sisters left later that afternoon, Kim decided that perhaps she could take a casual peek at the neighbor the next day, just to see if all of Kendall and Kylie's enthusiasm made sense. After all, they seemed genuinely impressed.
As soon as the sisters left, Kim went upstairs to her office, still smiling at their words. She wondered who this new resident was and what story he would bring with him to the neighborhood.
