Chapter 14: Chapter 28-29-30

Chapter 28

It was a sunny and cheerful day as everyone prepared to board Kim's private jet. The Kardashian-Jenner family was gathered and excited for their trip to the Caribbean, where they had rented a yacht for a weekend of fun and relaxation. Kim, Tom and the kids, along with Kim's sisters Kris, Corey, nephews and nieces, were all looking forward to their time together.

As soon as the jet took off, the atmosphere was one of pure excitement. Kylie, always curious and full of questions, took the opportunity to strike up a conversation with Tom, who was sitting next to Kim and the kids.

"Tom, I have to ask... how did you meet the royal family?" Kylie said with a curious smile, leaning towards him.

Tom laughed lightly, already knowing that Kim's family always had curious and surprising questions about her past.

— Well, it was about a few years ago, at a special event that the British royals organized to celebrate the founding of the SAS — he began, as everyone paid attention. — The event was attended by members of the royal family, including Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip, and Princes William and Harry. My team and I were invited to demonstrate the techniques we use on operations, and it turned out to be a unique experience.

Kendall, who was sitting across the aisle, heard and leaned in to join the conversation.

"You mean Queen Elizabeth? Like… the actual Queen?" she asked, impressed.

"Yes, exactly. It was quite an honor." Tom smiled. "After we did the demonstration, we were introduced to her, and she was extremely polite and friendly. They have great respect for the military, and the Queen asked us a lot of questions about what we do."

Kourtney, who had been watching the conversation intently, commented with a smile:

"So, have you ever met the royals, Tom? Not bad for our sister's boyfriend!"

Everyone laughed, and Tom continued, feeling more comfortable sharing this part of his story.

"It was an unforgettable experience. They were very interested in the stories we told about our missions, and that's how I ended up talking to Princes Harry and William. They were very curious, especially Prince William and Harry. We hit it off quickly, and we've maintained a friendship ever since. We've met a few times since then, at smaller, more private events."

Kim held Tom's hand as she listened to the story with a proud smile. She loved how Tom connected so well with her family, always patiently answering questions, even those about his past military missions and his surprising connections.

"And what was it like for you to see the Queen up close? Is she as imposing as she looks?" Khloe asked, her eyes shining with curiosity.

"She really is," Tom replied, laughing. "She exudes a very strong presence and, at the same time, is incredibly kind. But Prince Philip, he had a great sense of humor." He made a few jokes about how insane what we did in operations seemed.

By now, everyone was engaged in the conversation, laughing and asking questions. Even the kids were paying attention, delighted with the idea that Tom had met a real queen and princes.

North, especially, seemed fascinated.

"Tom, do you think the queen still remembers you?" she asked, looking at him with wide eyes.

Tom smiled at her, amused by the question.

"Who knows, North? Maybe so. The last time we saw each other, she still remembered my name, which was a great compliment for me."

Kim looked at him proudly, squeezing his hand.

"Tom, you never told me all these details. Who would have thought my boyfriend was practically friends with royalty?" she joked, making her sisters laugh.

The jet continued to fly smoothly over the ocean, and the conversation flowed in a relaxed and lively manner. Each of the sisters shared stories, and everyone got involved in the conversation, exchanging laughs and memories.

Finally, the jet began to descend towards the Caribbean, and the paradisiacal landscape began to appear through the windows. The crystal clear waters and white sand islands were breathtaking, and everyone gathered around the windows to admire the view.

As soon as they landed, they were taken to the port, where the yacht was waiting for them. The vessel was huge, with several floors and a luxurious design. The children ran to explore every corner, while Kim, Tom and the rest of the family settled in.

As soon as the yacht set off, Kris suggested a toast to the trip and the time they would spend together.

"Let's toast to this family trip and the new memories we will create!" she said, raising her glass of champagne.

Everyone toasted, smiling, and soon began to relax and enjoy the day. Tom, especially, felt welcomed and happy with Kim's family, as if he were already part of it.

The hours passed quickly as they sailed across the sea, and everyone was enjoying the sun and the Caribbean waters. The Kardashian and Jenner sisters took turns sunbathing and playing with the children, who loved the open space on the deck.

Later, Kim and Tom watched North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm playing with their cousins in a safer area of the yacht. Kim's look, full of tenderness, said a lot about what she felt at that moment.

"I never imagined that you would adapt so well to my family and that everyone would love you so much," Kim said to Tom, smiling.

"I didn't imagine it either, Kim. But I'm so happy to be here with you and to feel so close to all of them. It's something I've never had in my life, and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

She leaned in to give him a kiss, and they stayed there together, watching the children and enjoying the sunset that painted the sky in orange and pink tones.

That evening, the group gathered for dinner on the deck, and the atmosphere was pure relaxation. Kris, always playful, asked Tom:

"So, now that we know you know the royals, there's just one detail left... When are you going to introduce me to Prince Harry?" she joked, making everyone laugh.

Tom laughed, joining in the fun.

"I'll see what I can do, Kris. Who knows, maybe one day I'll be able to organize a meeting between the two families!"

Kendall, taking advantage of the joke, added:

"What if he could come with us on a skydive too, Tom? What do you think?"

Everyone laughed, and the night continued with laughter, stories and lots of joy. They spent hours talking under the starry sky, enjoying every moment together.

It was a magical night, the kind that stays in your memory. Tom felt completely at home and grateful to be a part of something so special. He knew this was a unique chapter in his life, and at that moment, he was exactly where he was supposed to be: with Kim, with her family, and with a heart full of love and gratitude.

Chapter 29

On the way back home, everyone seemed tired but happy. The children were calm and sleepy, and Kim's sisters were talking quietly, laughing and remembering funny moments from the trip. Kim was sitting next to Tom, holding his hand, while her eyes watched the sky through the small window of the jet. She sighed peacefully, feeling complete.

Tom, however, was immersed in his own thoughts as he looked at his cell phone. Unintentionally, he had opened an old folder of photos that he almost never looked at. Photos from old missions, of faces and places that seemed so distant that he almost didn't recognize them.

They were images that showed a completely different Tom: a serious and focused soldier, always ready to go into action, always carrying the responsibility of his team and state secrets. He slid his fingers through some of the photos, stopping at one that was especially striking.

It was a photo of him and his team in Afghanistan. They were sitting on the floor, taking a moment to rest after a long mission. He remembered every face in the image, every story, every reason why they had chosen that life of sacrifice. Tom smiled slightly, with a mix of longing and nostalgia. How he had changed... Who would have thought that that soldier, who only knew chaos and discipline, would now be dating Kim Kardashian?

"Thinking about what?" Kim asked softly, noticing Tom's distant air.

He smiled at her and turned off his cell phone, putting it in his pocket. He held Kim's hand tighter and looked into her eyes tenderly.

"I was just remembering the past." He shrugged, as if trying to deflect the weight of his thoughts. "How my life took a huge turn. If someone had told me that I would end up like this, with you, with a family, and a completely different future... I would never have believed it."

Kim smiled and rested her head on his shoulder, embracing what he was feeling.

"Life really is like that, isn't it?" I never imagined I would find someone like you either. But I'm glad our paths crossed.

Tom was silent for a moment, letting those words echo in his mind. It was true. He had never imagined he would feel something so deep and light at the same time. Kim was a point of peace in his life that he never thought he would have, a side of life he had never experienced. The family, the unconditional love, the sense of home that he had always sought.

"You know, Kim…" He began hesitantly. "My life before I met you was full of things that no one can imagine. I saw and did things that still haunt me, and somehow, that shaped me. But when I'm with you, all of that seems to be in the past."

Kim lifted her head to look at him, noticing the intensity of Tom's emotions. She placed her hand on his face and gave him a warm smile.

"I know, Tom. And I respect every part of you, including what you went through before you got here." I know there's a lot you can't tell me, but I also know that it's part of who you are. And I love every part of it.

Tom smiled gratefully and ran his fingers through her hair, enjoying the moment of peace and understanding. For so long, he had kept everything a secret, almost like a suit of armor he wore to protect himself from any closeness. But now, with Kim, he felt safe enough to be himself, without masks.

"You're unique, Kim," he murmured. "I never imagined anyone could truly understand everything I've been through. But you… somehow, you do."

Kim laughed softly and pulled him into a light kiss, enjoying the intimacy of that moment.

As the jet continued its journey back to Los Angeles, Kim's sisters dozed off, and the children slept peacefully. The atmosphere was peaceful, almost magical, and Tom felt like this was his true home. He had never felt that way before, not even in his own home.

With his arm around Kim, he found himself lost in more memories, thinking about how before he had always kept his heart closed and his eyes focused only on his work. But now, for the first time, he thought about the future with hope and a sense of calm. It was almost surreal to be here, with Kim by his side, and with her children who he considered part of his own life now.

As soon as the jet began to descend for landing, everyone began to settle in, still a little sleepy, but excited to go home. Tom and Kim helped the children get organized, while the sisters stretched and tried to wake up.

When the plane landed, Kris approached Kim and Tom and gave them a warm smile.

"It was an amazing trip, wasn't it?" Kris said, looking at them.

"It was, Mom." Kim smiled. "And I'm so glad everyone got to spend this time together. It's been a blessing to have you here with us, Tom."

Kris gave her a warm look, and Tom smiled respectfully in return.

"I'm the one who thanks you. Being with you, being part of your lives, is something I never thought I would have. So, thank you."

They all got off the jet and headed to the cars that would take them back home. Tom and Kim decided to go together, and the kids were beaming, still talking about their adventures on the yacht and the memories they had made in the Caribbean.

As the car drove through the streets of Los Angeles, Tom couldn't help but feel a little nervous. It wasn't bad nervousness, but a mix of anxiety and happiness. He knew his life was changing in a way he never expected, and with Kim by his side, he felt stronger, more alive and more true.

Back home, after putting the kids to bed, Tom and Kim sat in the living room, with a glass of wine each, relaxing and enjoying the silence of the night.

"I was thinking…" Tom began, looking at his drink. — Life has been a rollercoaster ride since we met. And to be honest, I've never felt better.

Kim smiled and leaned against his shoulder.

"I feel the same way." She paused, looking at him with a twinkle in her eye. "And I'm looking forward to everything that comes next, with you by my side."

Tom hugged her, squeezing her gently.

"I'm looking forward to it too, Kim. I really am." He smiled at her, his heart open and genuinely happy.

And there, in the silence of that night, they knew they were exactly where they were supposed to be.

Chapter 30

On the morning of September 8, 2022, Tom woke up as he would on any other day, feeling the lightness of the first rays of sunlight coming through the bedroom window. Beside him, Kim was still sleeping soundly, her hair spread across the pillow in a peaceful sight. He smiled when he saw her and got up silently, heading towards the kitchen to make coffee.

However, as soon as he picked up his cell phone, he saw a series of notifications and unread messages. His chest tightened when he saw the name of an old friend flashing on the screen, followed by several other messages. When he finally opened the messages, the impact was immediate.

"Queen Elizabeth II has passed away."

Tom stopped, staring at the words as if they were not yet real. Elizabeth II, the monarch he had had the privilege of sharing moments with and serving under her leadership, was gone. The news was everywhere, and he knew that the world would soon feel the weight of this loss.

He took a deep breath, trying to absorb the information. He knew this moment would come someday, but he could never really be prepared. He closed his eyes and, for a moment, allowed himself to relive the memories with her: the formal meetings, the times he had met the royal family at special events and, of course, the day he had received his medal from the Queen herself.

Still wrapped up in these thoughts, Tom went to the living room, trying to gather what he needed. He grabbed a suitcase and began to sort out more formal clothes, including the dark suit he would wear to the funeral. Not only to pay his respects to the monarch, but also to be with the people who had become part of his life, William, Harry, Kate, and even Meghan.

They would be there, they would need support, and he knew that, somehow, he had to be there. While he was focused on packing his suitcase, Kim entered the room, still looking sleepy. She watched him, wondering at Tom's seriousness.

"Tom? What's going on?" she asked, noticing his worried expression and unusual movement so early in the morning.

He sighed and turned to her, trying to choose his words carefully.

"Kim…" he began, his voice grave. "Queen Elizabeth has passed away. I just got the news."

Kim put her hand over her mouth, surprised and clearly saddened by the loss. She knew how important the British monarchy was to Tom and how he had always had a deep respect for the Queen.

"Oh my God, Tom… I'm so sorry. I know how much she meant to you."

Tom nodded, a small smile of gratitude playing on his lips as he continued to pack his suitcase.

"It's strange, you know?" he said thoughtfully. "I knew this day would come, and yet… Elizabeth II always seemed immortal, in a way. And now that she's gone, it feels like part of an entire era has gone with her."

Kim reached out and held his hand, offering silent support. She knew she couldn't fully understand what he was feeling, but she wanted him to know she was there for him.

"You're going to the funeral, aren't you?" — she asked, with a tone of understanding.

"Yes, I will," Tom replied, determined. "Not only for her, but also for my friends. William and Harry will be there, and I want to show them that I'm there for whatever they need."

Kim nodded, understanding the importance of his decision. She sighed, looking at him with a look of understanding, but also of apology.

"I would love to go with you, Tom. Seriously... but my schedule is full and full of commitments that can't be postponed. There are several important events happening for the company, and I've already had to reschedule a few things." She paused, with a sad look. "But I'll be rooting for you from here and following everything."

Tom smiled, squeezing her hand lightly. He understood Kim's responsibilities and knew that, even from afar, she would be there in spirit.

"It's okay, Kim. I know you would be there if you could. And the support you give me here is already enough." They embraced, and Tom felt the warmth of her embrace. That connection helped him get through what would be a difficult but necessary time. He knew he had to be strong and pay his last respects to someone who, for him and millions, was a symbol of stability and dignity.

A few hours later, Tom was on his flight to London. He watched the clouds outside the window as the plane crossed the Atlantic, lost in thought about the role Queen Elizabeth had played in his life and the impact she had had on the United Kingdom and the world.

When he arrived in London, the atmosphere was somber. The sky seemed overcast, almost as if the city was in mourning too. Tom headed straight to his hotel, leaving his suitcase in the room before heading to Buckingham Palace. As he approached, he noticed the crowds gathered in front of the palace, all with sad and contemplative looks. It was as if the country had lost its was united in a sense of loss.

Tom made a point of meeting up with his SAS colleagues and some friends from MI6 who had also served the UK and, like him, had a deep respect for the Queen. They exchanged stories and memories, sharing the impact that Elizabeth II had had on each of them, not only as head of state but as a constant figure in their lives.

On the day of the funeral, Tom put on his dark suit and headed to the ceremony. He met Harry and William at the funeral, and the look they exchanged was enough to convey the solidarity and support they were offering each other. Even in the midst of their grief, there was a sense of unity.

He stood beside his friends, feeling the solemn weight of the moment as the ceremony continued. The choir sang traditional songs and the voices echoed through the abbey, creating an almost ethereal atmosphere.

Tom lost himself in the melodies, letting each note connect him to memories of the monarch. He remembered the times he had been to the palace for special events and the conversations he had had with the Queen. Despite the formality of their interactions, he had always felt a unique dignity and kindness in her.

When the time finally came to say goodbye, Tom felt a wave of emotion and let himself be overcome by grief. He made a small, silent bow to the coffin, an intimate and respectful farewell, knowing that this farewell symbolized an era that was ending.

After the ceremony, he met Harry and William again. They spoke briefly, exchanging words of support and encouragement. Although the moment was painful, each other's presence brought some comfort, and Tom knew that no matter how difficult the days ahead would be, they would face it together.

At the end of the day, Tom returned to the hotel, physically and emotionally exhausted. He texted Kim, updating her and saying that he was fine, although tired. Soon after, he received a loving reply from her, sending him all her love and support.

Before going to sleep, Tom reflected on everything he had experienced in the last few days. He was grateful to have had the opportunity to pay his last respects and, at the same time, to be able to share his life with someone like Kim, who understood the depth of his loss.

The Queen's death marked the end of an era, and Tom knew that he would carry her memories and lessons for the rest of his life. And with that, he also felt more ready than ever to continue on his own path, building a new story alongside Kim and her family.
