The Forgotten S Class Hero

Chapter 23: An Unexpected Visitor

Days upon days of training continued to go by with Haru slowly remembering his ways of fighting once again. He's regained memory of some skills but not all of them.

The possibility of him becoming a stronger hero grows more and more by the day with him learning from his comrade.

"Dumbass are you focusing?" Sorakami questions with a bit of an annoyed tone.

I had lost my focus when I noticed someone out of the corner of my eye, it wasn't Mai which is why it caught my attention so quicky. A woman stood in the corner of the room watching us.

Curly long purple hair that went past her shoulders, an angelic aura all around her as she stood there staring, grey eyes, wearing a white dress with two white wings behind her.

Who the hell was this girl?

"Sorry. I don't know why I got distracted." Haru answers while wiping his eyes.

The girl he saw had disappeared after he wiped his eyes and the two of them continued on fighting for awhile. Mai focused on reading some of the scrolls Sorakami had handed her.

Since she was half demon and could read the language of demons, he wanted her to translate some scrolls while they trained. An annoying task but it would be worth it if she could do this for him.

(Hours later. Inside of a small room with a bed and some bags on the other side of the room.)

I don't know who I saw earlier but I do know that Sorakami didn't notice or else he would've said something. He's stronger than me so I'm sure of that.

Though other than all this fighting lately I haven't remembered any other skills so I don't know if I'll ever get them back. What does this fighting prove exactly?

Sorakami claims that it'll help me surpass the limits within me which will help me reach the level he's at. I don't know if that's entirely true or not but I'm getting to the point where I'll have to ask him about a better way to do this.

Training is going to get more intense in the coming week since he wants to fight like our lives are on the line from now on. Creating a sense of reality makes sense but will it truly help awaken more of my power?

Haru laid back on his bed as these thoughts continued to race through his mind but he couldn't help but remember the person he saw earlier today. The girl was engraved in his mind and it felt like it was impossible to forget.

"I wasn't mistaken, you did see me didn't you?" A woman's voice asks.

Immediately jolting up in his bed he looked around the room till he noticed the girl once again.

"Are you real or am I just imagining things?" Haru responds with his own question.

A confused look across his face as he stared at the woman.

"Yes I'm real. A goddess like me shouldn't even be seen by you." She says with a coldness in her voice.

I never said I wanted to see her but she's the one who decided to appear before me and her she's acting like it's a problem.

"Then why am I seeing you." Haru replies with an annoyed tone.

The girl walks over and takes a seat next to Haru before she starts to talk.

"Lots of things are said about you so I had to investigate but you don't seem so special." The girl says with a harsh tone.

God's and goddesses are speaking about me, did I hear that right? I could only wonder why they'd be speaking about me and I didn't even think they existed.

They were always said to be myths or stories made up by people to give something for everyone to believe in. Interesting to see one in person, unless I'm hallucinating.

"See you're not really giving me any good responses so if this is how it's going to be then I'm going back to bed." Haru says before starting to lean back.

Immediately she grabs the collar of his shirt before he could fall back. "I'm just having a hard time okay. You don't seem like a bad choice for once, usually they send people who aren't worth the time to me." The girl says while holding onto his collar.

"Maybe don't just assume things. I don't control what your people do so don't take it out on me." Haru responds with an annoyes tone in his voice.

I don't even know her name or anything about her yet she's talking to me like I'm some piece of garbage on the street. Not really into people like that which is why again I prefer to travel by myself.

Letting his collar go he falls onto the bed and she lays next to him.

"You genuinely want to save everyone, it's not all about fame is it?" The girl asks with a bit of curiosity in her voice.

"Yeah, but no one knew I did anything in the past so I'd at least like to be remembered." Haru answers while looking up at the ceiling.

Fame would be great and all but I just want to be remembered for the things I've done for everyone. That's another reason I want to be the one to kill the demon lord so badly.

"What about your sister? Don't you want to see her again?" The girl questions.

Lena. Yeah it would be nice to see her again but she probably doesn't remember me.

"Some day it'd be nice but right now it's better she doesn't see me." Haru responds with a serious tone in his voice.

The goddess then pulls out an artifact from thin air, something that resembled everything Haru was looking for. An orb with all different engravings on it, but the orb was almost completely shattered.

"I'd love to say that this would've helped but it's broken. You can still fix everything somehow." The girl says while holding the orb.
