The First Cultivator - Changing Existence

Chapter 902: Bad Luck - 902

The creature looked at him. "Nie Shanzi?"

"That's me." The first monster said.

"Come. The elder is waiting for you."

The first monster nodded and followed the creature. Everything was a bit weird within this domain. It was simply tailored for the Luck Sovereign clan. And these beings were far less compatible with other races than most species within the Universe.

After walking for a while, he saw a palace in the distance. Unlike most of the places he had seen so far, this place seemed fit for both normal beings and beings like the Luck Sovereign clan.

As he stepped inside, he was able to sense a powerful presence.

Not long later, he was in front of that being. The being was standing in a throne room, though not anywhere near the throne on the top. That most likely belonged to the Luck Sovereign.

"Welcome, Nie Shanzi. Please, take a seat." In front of the figure was a table with a single chair. The first monster sat on it, and the member of the Luck Sovereign clan that had brought him here left. The powerful being stood at the end of the table.

"I will not waste too much of your time. I am one of the five elders of the Luck Sovereign clan, beings directly below the Sovereign of Luck. You will learn my name if you ever join us. That is what I am here to offer you. I am giving you a chance to join the Luck Sovereign clan."

"I thought that one could only be born into the Sovereign clans, and that they never allowed outsiders to join." The first monster said.

"You are both right and wrong. Indeed, we do not allow outsiders to join, but one doesn't have to be born into a Sovereign clan to be a member. In short, the Luck Sovereign herself can simply change your race. This is an ability of all of the Sovereigns."

Hearing this alone made the first monster choose to not join the Luck Sovereign clan. But he was quite interested in the Sovereign's, and he didn't plan to pass up on this chance to gain some information.

"All of the Sovereigns can do it?"

"Of course, it is quite easy for such powerful beings."

"And the Luck Sovereign is the strongest of them all, right?" The first monster asked.

"I don't dare speak on matters of the Sovereigns, but in my humble opinion, none could beat the Luck Sovereign. After all, the Luck Sovereign clan members are almost undefeated against those at the same level across all of history. This should go for the Sovereigns as well, should it not?" The Luck Sovereign clan member said.

The first monster nodded in agreement. It made sense.

He put on an act as if he was thinking before he spoke. "I don't think I can join the Luck Sovereign clan."

The member of the Luck Sovereign clan was surprised. It was silent for a moment before speaking. "All right then, you can leave."

He waved his hand and the first monster appeared directly on the teleportation array.

He was surprised it had been that easy to reject. He had expected to at least be asked for a reason. But he soon realized that this was not a good thing.

The Sovereign clans were arrogant beyond imagination, and they would never allow someone to reject them without facing the consequences. And since this was the Luck Sovereign clan, everything was that much worse. He could forget about being lucky for a long, long time. He would probably have to surpass the Sovereign of Luck before he could hope to gain some luck back.

He quickly returned to the Beast alliance where he informed the first beast and the old man about his situation. He made sure that they would stay away from him and anything regarding him for a while. They both understood.

This was not good news at all.

A few days later, a star fell from the sky on top of the first monster. Normally, this would mean nothing to even a False Immortal, but this star just so happened to have been one personally raised by a being just below the Sovereigns. As it fell and supernovaed, the first monster received painful scorch marks. He barely escaped. A few days later, one of the most powerful beast lords attacked him.

Although he won, it was difficult to explain why they had begun fighting. The first monster wasn't even sure why. Wrong place, wrong time. One could call it bad luck.

The next time bad luck struck, it was in the form of an assassin. A purple mist drifted over him as he sat down cultivating. Just as it struck, he sensed it and dodged.

A huge hole appeared where he had been sitting. He most likely would have died if he had sensed it any later. Where he dodged, a once in a century geyser exploded, distracting him as an arrow flew over. He dodged, clearly superior to his opponent, but he could not fight back.

This was a member of the Luck Sovereign clan. If he so much as touched it in an aggressive way, he would be publicly executed.

He could only run. The Luck Sovereign clan member could not catch up.

It went to a nearby teleportation hub and chose a teleportation array at random.

When it appeared, it saw a familiar back.

It struck instantly, causing the first monster to jump with shock and run again. He had just gotten here, and how did the Luck Sovereign clan member find him?

This time, he did not leave anything to chance. He ran towards an area with nothing near it, no buildings or teleportation arrays.

The Luck Sovereign clan member looked around the teleportation hub, but didn't feel any luck.

But as a shady old man approached, offering a hidden teleportation array, the Luck Sovereign clan member smiled.

The first monster was deep into a forest. This was a nearly untouched area.

Suddenly, a figure burst up from the ground. A cave had been below the spot where he had stood, and a hidden teleportation array built there.

When the first monster saw the Luck Sovereign clan member, he didn't even know how to react. Wasn't this a bit ridiculous?
