Chapter 771: Another One Went Missing
In the blink of an eye, Ariel Zimmerman seemed to vanish from where she stood.
Director Clark was the first to go mad, abruptly standing from his chair and grabbing the intercom to shout frantically,
"Where is she?! Where did she go?!"
Where's that big Ariel Zimmerman?!
Cedric Wilder also hadn't expected the Ghost Tower to appear so suddenly, and it could even swallow people without a sound.
Once he realized, he rushed towards the window without any hesitation.
He kicked through the office area's glass and then lunged, intending to climb directly onto the exterior wall of the Ghost Tower from here.
"Ahh!!" It was unclear who screamed first, but the comments exploded into chaos.
After all, to find the restoration location, they had directly made their way to the ninth floor, where the source of the tip-off was.
The wall outside the window looked close, but no one dared to be certain how far it actually was.
He just jumped over like that...
What kind of lunatics are in the Mystical Sect?
Amber Livingston wasn't as crazy as Cedric Wilder; he was very aware of his own abilities, but he was also the first to react, turning his head and dashing downstairs when Ariel Zimmerman disappeared.
He didn't wait for the elevator and instead sprinted down the stairs in one go.
The cameraman behind him ran wildly.
However, the audience in the live broadcast couldn't focus on them.
Everyone was watching Cedric Wilder jump out of the window without hesitation.
Yet, just as he was about to reach the opposite building's wall, another unforeseen event occurred.
The building... moved again!
It was as if it used Instantaneous Teleportation; the wall that originally blocked the window of the building vanished in an instant.
Cedric Wilder didn't even have time to grab onto anything and fell straight down.
"Cedric Wilder!!"
Both Diana Craig and the staff screamed simultaneously.
This is the ninth floor.
Falling from here, there's likely no chance of survival, just straight-up death.
It's over; if Cedric Wilder dies, this will undoubtedly be the most severe fatal accident in their show's history!
Everyone screamed and rushed to the window to look down.
Yet the anticipated gruesome scene didn't appear; Cedric Wilder was standing unharmed on the ground.
Soon, everyone heard a sharp voice through their earpieces that obviously didn't belong to Cedric Wilder or Foxgate.
"Someone come and help me down; I've twisted my ankle."
Director Clark slumped heavily back into his chair, feeling as if his soul had just flown away in that instant.
A group hurried downstairs, only to find Cedric Wilder sitting on the edge of the flower bed, with one ankle clearly swollen.
If he hadn't asked for possession by Huang Xian at the moment of his fall, it would have been more than just a twisted ankle.
However, with this situation, finding Ariel Zimmerman, who was taken by that Ghost Tower, would indeed be challenging.
Yet, this wasn't the most despairing thing.
Amber Livingston's follow-up cameraman somehow came over with a near-crying face,
"What do we do? Amber Livingston also seems to be missing."
It turned out that earlier, while chasing Amber Livingston, who sped downstairs, the cameraman reached the ground floor lobby.
Because he lagged a step carrying equipment, the cameraman watched as Amber Livingston dashed out of the building, and then Amber's figure just vanished outside the door.
"I just ran around the entire office building but couldn't find any trace of Amber Livingston, and it seems there's no signal from his mic either..."
Upon hearing the news of two guests disappearing, Director Clark felt faint and, unable to care about the show's effects, quickly signaled,
"Quick, call Master Jennings and the others over!"
This family needs them!
Scarlett Jennings and Lucienne Xander were already in the building complex, and they rushed over the moment they sensed the Ghost Tower's appearance.
Upon hearing about Ariel Zimmerman and Amber Livingston's disappearance, Scarlett Jennings wasn't as panicked as the others,
"Although it's uncertain why the Ghost Tower appeared and vanished so suddenly, Ariel Zimmerman and Amber Livingston both have amulets provided by the production team, so they shouldn't be in danger."
This season's amulets were still purchased from Scarlett Jennings, who gave out enhanced versions after her demonic power awakened.
Even against a fierce ghost from a hundred years ago, they could withstand at least three attacks.
Right after Scarlett Jennings finished speaking, Diana Craig completed her divination,
"According to the hexagram, they're still safe now, so everyone can rest assured."
The last sentence was directed at the live broadcast's audience.
Knowing two people were missing, Ariel Zimmerman and Amber Livingston's fans in the stream were on the verge of insanity.
The trending topics were flooded with news about the show's Ghost Tower and disappearances.
Fortunately, with the consecutive "guarantees" from Scarlett Jennings and Diana Craig, the audience finally calmed down.
But even though they weren't in immediate danger, the show still needed to find and bring them back quickly.
"Wasn't it said that the Ghost Tower would only appear on foggy, rainy nights? It's clearly daytime now!"
Lucienne Xander voiced her skepticism at this moment.
Director Clark's phone was about to explode with calls; he grabbed a few strands of hair on his bald head, looking agitated,
"The clues gathered by the production team indeed suggest nighttime, who knew something could happen in broad daylight."
If he had known earlier, he definitely wouldn't have let them split up for action.
Originally, he intended for them to gather clues during the day as groups and then act together at night.
He thought the Ghost Tower might not even appear, but it showed up shortly after the show started.
And it swallowed people!
"What do we do now?"
Though Director Clark was asking the guests, his gaze eagerly fell on Scarlett Jennings's face.
Scarlett Jennings looked up at the sky.
The sudden fog and rain had already begun to subside after just ten minutes, and the Ghost Tower had disappeared in less than two minutes.
"If the condition for the Ghost Tower's appearance isn't based on day or night but rather simply due to foggy and rainy weather, we can try to lure it out again."
John Dawn frowned at her words,
"The recent weather forecast is completely inaccurate; it said there's fog and rain, but who knows when the next rain will come?"
What if it rains in the middle of the night?
Scarlett Jennings glanced at him, "Who said we have to wait?"
She said, "If there's no rain, it can be asked for; if there's no fog, it can be created."
As they watched Scarlett Jennings pull an empty Yellow Talisman from her bag, the audience in the live broadcast instantly understood her meaning.
John Dawn also realized, recalling Scarlett Jennings's viral rainmaking video.
Sure enough, Scarlett Jennings said,
"I'll handle the rainmaking, but as for the fog..."
Her gaze shifted to Cedric Wilder, who brightened and was about to step forward when Scarlett Jennings's gaze quickly shifted to Lucienne Xander,
"Can you handle creating the fog? Is it alright?"
Lucienne Xander: ...
Is she still trying to test her at such a moment?
Seeing Lucienne not answer immediately, Scarlett Jennings didn't push, "If it's not possible, never mind, I..."
She was just about to say she could do it herself when Lucienne Xander answered,
"No problem."
Isn't she just trying to make her use Black Mist in front of everyone?
She would never let her succeed.
Even without using Black Mist, just relying on Layla Xalvadora's spiritual power, she could easily create fog!
