Chapter 137: Now Die!
Gavin pushed himself out of the rubble and staggered back onto the street, gripping his sword with both hands. His eyes locked onto Eliath, filled with blazing rage. His breathing was heavy, his teeth grinding together as he glared at her.
"Face me, you rot!"
Eliath turned her head toward him, then her whole body followed, that same twisted smile still on her face. She spread out her wings, kicking up dust.
"You kids are really something," she said.
She gripped her sword, flapped her wings once, and shot forward like a bullet. Halfway to Gavin, he suddenly stabbed his sword into the ground, releasing a massive explosion of blue flames that rushed outward like a wave.
It caught Eliath completely off guard.
The explosion slammed into her, hurling her backward. She hit the ground and rolled for several meters.
Gavin dropped to one knee, coughing up blood. His ribs were already cracked, and that move had drained an enormous amount of mana and stamina. Still, he forced himself back to his feet, trembling but standing.
Eliath rose again, this time visibly pissed that Gavin had managed to land such an attack. She pointed her sword forward, a purple ball of energy forming at the tip.
"I'm tired of this. Die."
She fired the blast. Gavin roared, lifted his sword, and met the blast head-on. The purple light crashed into his blade, pushing him back as his feet dug trenches into the street. Dust exploded behind him as he was forced backward, muscles bulging, veins straining, every ounce of strength poured into resisting the attack.
At the last second, he deflected it upward.
The blast shot into the sky and detonated like a miniature sun.
Gavin lunged forward, pushing his exhausted body past its limits. Blue flames wrapped around his sword. He leaped high into the air.
"DIE!"
He slashed downward with everything he had—but Eliath was still too strong. She lifted her sword and blocked the attack cleanly. The street beneath her cracked, exploded, dust rising, but she remained standing.
Gavin landed, snarled, and launched again. He attacked from all angles, a torrent of flame and steel, but she blocked every strike with surgical precision. Her eyes never left him. Then she saw the opening—her sword flashed.
Gavin saw it, but he couldn't dodge fully. He twisted his body, and the blade carved into his side, slicing deep but avoiding his vital organs. Blood sprayed into the air.
Before Eliath could pull her sword back, Gavin swung his hand and flicked his own blood into her eyes. For a moment, she was blinded, and Gavin struck—he thrust his sword straight into her center.
The blade stabbed deep. Black blood exploded outward. Eliath looked down, genuinely shocked. He had actually stabbed her. But Gavin wasn't done. He tried to channel his flames through the blade to amplify the damage.
But Eliath punched him square in the face before he could finish. He shot backward like a ragdoll, slamming across the ground.
Eliath ripped the sword out of her own gut and tossed it aside.
"How dare you…" she roared, forming a black sphere of energy in her hand.
She hurled it at Gavin—an execution shot—but a dome of light formed around him at the last moment.
BOOM.
The dome shattered, but Gavin inside was unharmed. Emily stood beside him, eyes furious, having cast the shield in time. Eliath was distracted by them; she didn't notice Ella rising behind her.
Ella unleashed everything—every drop of mana she had, every vein burning, her entire body risking collapse. Normally, going full output would knock her unconscious or destroy her body, but now wasn't the time to hold back.
"Lightning Fall!" Ella screamed.
A massive formation opened in the sky above Eliath.
Eliath looked up, stunned. She wasn't expecting a spell like this. A pillar of lightning as thick as two grown men crashed down on top of her.
The ground melted beneath the heat.
Eliath's silhouette twisted and convulsed as she screamed. When the spell ended, Ella collapsed to her knees, coughing blood.
Everyone looked toward the charred body.
And then—
Crack… crack…
Eliath moved.
Her burnt skin peeled away as fresh flesh regenerated underneath.
"What… impossible…" Ella whispered, horrified. She could barely stand. That had been her trump card—her strongest spell—and Eliath was still alive.
Hopelessness washed through them.
Then, light flashed.
Raze teleported directly over Eliath.
"I'll END THIS NOW!" he roared.
He gripped the bat with both hands and swung downward with the full power of the Yin-Yang Sword Technique. Eliath couldn't react; she was too focused on healing.
CRACK!
The bat smashed into her skull, slamming her into the ground. The pavement split and cratered beneath her.
Raze didn't stop.
He planted his feet, teleported, and slammed her again.
Then again.
Then again.
A relentless, brutal barrage.
Each hit echoing, each blow a quake through the town.
"There are two ways to kill her," Raze growled mid-swing. "Destroy the head… or stab all three hearts. Demonic beasts have multiple hearts. God's Eye showed me she had three."
He struck again and again. His rage, his fear, his desperation—all poured into each swing.
"So we destroy the head!"
The barrage continued, every swing landing perfectly as shockwaves tore through the ruined street. Eliath took the barrage, her rage climbing higher and higher with every strike. Finally—
"ENOUGH!"
She roared, and a violent pulse of demonic energy exploded from her body like a bomb. The shockwave blasted out in all directions, slamming into Raze and throwing him straight through several buildings. The impact tore a massive crater into the center of the town.
Eliath slowly rose to her feet. Her healing accelerated, her flesh stitching itself back together at an unnatural speed as she returned to full strength. She lifted both hands into the air.
"I've had enough…"
A ball of dark purple-black energy began forming between her palms. It twisted violently, swirling with demonic power. It grew rapidly, first the size of a person… then the size of a boulder… then swelling further until it reached the size of a small house.
With a single beat of her wings, Eliath shot into the sky.
"I will end all of you."
She released the massive orb of energy, hurling it down toward the town below.
