The Extra Who Shouldn’t Exist

Chapter 285 : The Villain vs The Devil (9)

The battlefield had become a bleeding wound upon reality itself.

Flashes of Chaotic power split the sky while streaks of pure destruction tore through the air.

The barriers upon the elven and dwarven Empire was was already long gone—As millions died from th destruction alex and the seven deadly sins were causing. Amid this devastation.

Alex fought alone against the seven incarnations of chaos.

Grambell's next strike came like the wrath of gods, cutting through space.

His hand blurred, and before Alex could react, a blade of condensed pride carved through his wrist. Blood boiled in the air, glowing red as his severed hand fell to the ground.

But an instant later, the flesh reformed. Bone, sinew, and skin reconstructed in a flash of divine energy—Alex's body whole again, yet trembling under the strain.

Around him, the seven Sins never relented.

Their endless attacks crashed like storms, giving him no time to breathe. Grambell's subspace of pride folded reality like paper, bending existence itself against him. Inside that area, Alex's body rippled in pain as the green‑haired Sovereign's will turned into law.

Space fractured each time Grambell lifted his hand. His strength was absolute.

Then a roar filled the air—Drathos, the Sin of Wrath, closing in behind him. Alex barely moved his blade in time as a molten fist grazed his arm; the heat alone blistered his skin. The two collided midair, their punches tearing open the fabric of space.

Alex ducked beneath another swing, countering with three quick strikes, each amplified by death energy. The final blow was a brutal kick to Drathos's chest, followed by a crushing elbow to the side of his head.

Drathos shot backward like a meteor, shattering the floating mountains behind him and leaving a crater large enough to swallow cities.

Silence lingered for a heartbeat before Wrath's laughter echoed again. His molten body shimmered as he stood back up, grinning.

"Years," he said, molten blood dripping down his face. "It's been years since anyone hurt me this much."

Alex's expression hardened. He noticed it immediately—Drathos was burning brighter now, his aura thicker. Each attack Alex landed only made him stronger.

'He really feeds off pain and rage,' Alex thought grimly. 'Every hit just empowers him… even his soul is getting stronger.'

Drathos cracked his neck, molten steam hissing out.

"Come on, mortal. Don't slow down now."

Alex tightened his grip, preparing for another charge—Before he could plan another strike, shadows swirled across the ground.

Alex shifted into a defensive stance, recalculating—But the battlefield changed before he even finished that thought.

The Air Darkens

Everything dimmed.

The sky.

The ground.

Even the light from Drathos's molten body flickered.

A foul presence slithered in from the edges of existence, oozing through the cracks in the wrecked terrain like living tar.

Shadows pooled unnaturally.

The smell of rot and hunger filled the world.

Alex's heartbeat faltered.

The sensation hit him instantly—

not pain,

not fear,

but drain.

Like something had latched onto his life force and started sucking.

"…What the hell?" Alex muttered, stumbling.

His limbs felt heavy.

Breathing grew harder.

His mana, aura, and vitality bled out of him as if leaking through invisible wounds.

And then he saw it.

Saw him.

A foul presence slithered through the cracks.

Gorath had arrived.

The Sin of Gluttony was not shaped as any sane being should be—he was a dark vortex of flesh and mouths, each whispering, swallowing, devouring.

The air warped around him. Alex felt his heartbeat falter as his energy drained at an alarming rate.

A dozen mouths opened at once, whispering in overlapping hunger.

"Feast… feast… feeeast…"

"What the hell…?" Alex muttered, stumbling as his limbs grew heavier, his power fading.

From within his mind, his system spoke urgently:

[ Host, the odds are not in our favor. Engaging all seven simultaneously is suicide. At most, we can handle two of them.

That Gorath creature is consuming everything—mana, life force, divine energy. Anything that exists as power, he devours. Even cosmic essence would become his meal. ]

[ His ability is absolute gluttony. Anything that cannot be consumed is negated. ]

Before Alex could react further, a whisper brushed his ear.

A new presence—Valen, the Sin of Greed—stepped from behind reality, his gold‑encrusted clothes glinting with light.

A alluring voice filled Alex's head.

"Tell me, boy… what do you desire the most?"

The world darkened around Alex, the battlefield fading away. Valen approached, his voice smooth like silk.

"What is it you crave? Power? Love? Victory? Give them to me."

He reached forward, placing a hand over Alex's chest.

"These feelings of revenge—give them to me. These burdens of hatred, this endless fight—leave them all behind. Give your soul to me, and you'll be free. Free from pain, from anger, from this cursed life."

For a fleeting moment, Alex's thoughts flickered. 'Free… from everything?' The words of peace was tempting.

Then a sharp voice echoed through his mind:

[ Host, break free! He's absorbing your desires—your will itself! That's his law: the Sin of Greed feeds on what you wish for the most. Snap out of it! ]

Alex's eyes snapped open. A surge of fury filled him. With one clean motion, he swung the blade through Valen's neck—only for the figure to dissolve into shadow and laughter.

"An illusion," Alex hissed through clenched teeth. "This is getting out of hand."

His gaze moved back toward the others. 'Grambell's space is the real problem. As long as I'm caught inside his domain, I'm vulnerable. If I don't deal with him first, every attack is worthless.'

The others circled him like predators.

Maria, the Sin of Lust, stepped forward with a sultry smile. Her rose‑colored hair floated softly behind her, eyes glowing crimson. She tilted her head, licking her lips.

"Boy… you really are something else. To survive this long is no small feat. Even one of us would be enough to destroy a mortal just from a glance," she said, her tone dripping with admiration and promise.

"Besides… for a mortal, you're far too handsome to waste." She lifted a finger, her nails radiating faint pink light. "Why don't you become mine? Submit to me, and I'll protect you. I'll make sure you never suffer again."

Alex gave her a faint, mocking smirk.

"Sorry," he said. "I don't entertain whores."

The word hit like a blade. Maria's smooth demeanor shattered as her cheeks flushed deep red with fury.

"Insolent little pest!" she screamed, raising her hands.

A veil of pink fog burst from her, crawling across the battlefield and wrapping around Alex. Suddenly, his body trembled. His strength began to drain rapidly—energy, vitality slipping out through his pores.

He dropped to one knee, gasping.

'This fog… it's sucking my life force away,' he realized.

Slamming his fist into the ground, Alex shouted, "Enough!"

A pulse of death energy exploded from his body, vaporizing the fog around him—but the effort left him weakened, his breath unsteady.

'Damn it… seven of them at once—it's impossible like this,' he thought.

His system chimed saying host [ we cannot maintain this form much longer th backlash will hit us soon ]

Alex bit his lips hearing that.

Then, a voice—feminine, soft, confident—brushed the air.

"Looks like you're in trouble, Alex."

He looked up sharply, searching. Floating above the broken battlefield was a woman cloaked in blue light. Her hair shimmered blue with streaks of silver, her eyes glowing with quiet amusement.

For a moment, he could only stare. 'Who the hell is she?'

[ Unknown entity detected, ] his system said immediately.

[ Energy reading—identical to the Host's baseline frequency. Confirmed: she shares your essence. ]

"What…?" Alex whispered. Shock flickered across his face.

At the same moment, the seven Sins turned toward her. Their laughter died. Their expressions shifted—from amusement to instinctive tension. None of them could sense her presence. Not even Grambell's subspace reached her.

Her voice echoed like song.

Zara appeared before Alex in an instant, light rippling around her. "In this form, I can't do much," she said gently. "But I can give you one thing—temporary access to the some of your power."

She touched her palm to his chest.

A blinding pulse erupted as her energy flowed into his core, surging through every nerve, every vein, every cell. The ground shattered beneath them.

Up in the sky, Kyle—who until that moment had been enjoying Alex's suffering—froze as he witnessed the scene.

"What the hell are you all doing?!" Kyle screamed, fury twisting his expression. "Kill her! Kill that woman now!"

The Sins turned toward him, their eyes burning with pure murder for daring to command them—but none spoke. They merely diverted their gazes coldly back toward Alex and Zara.

Then, in the next instant—they moved.

All seven blurred forward at once.

A deafening explosion shook the world.

Light and darkness collided violently, erasing the horizon.

And through the chaos, a single word echoed, reverberating across the destroyed realm—Alex's voice, calm and cold.

"Astral Domain."
