The Extra is a Hero?

Chapter 120: EXPOSED [7]

The next morning, chaos had already bloomed.

Even before I left my dorm, the sound of buzzing drones and shouts echoed from beyond the Academy walls. My phone was flooded with trending posts, news headlines, and message notifications lighting up like fireworks.

[BREAKING NEWS] – BRIBERY SCANDAL ROCKS THE ARCADE ACADEMY!

[Neutrality in Question: Did Nobles Bribe Academy Instructors?]

[ INSTRUCTORS UNFAIR TREATMENT TOWARDS COMMONER —DailyNews]

[ #Justicforstuden]

I turn off my phone. It seems that the Academy will be in Chaos.

It had only been twelve hours since we decided to "set a fire."

'Looks like the spark caught faster than I expected.'

Then I went to attend my morning class.

---

Outside the Academy's grand gate, dozens of journalists had gathered like a pack of hungry wolves. Cameras hovered, microphones waved, and voices overlapped in a sea of questions.

"Is it true the nobility are controlling the Academy's instructors?"

"Can the Academy still claim to be neutral after accepting bribes from noble houses?"

"What are your views on the evidence released to national media?"

The poor gate guards were sweating bullets. One looked ready to faint; another kept glancing at the sky as if praying for divine intervention.

A third, the captain is a middle-aged man with a scar on his cheek who stepped forward, forcing a strained smile.

"Everyone, please calm down! Our Academy's representative will address your questions shortly, so I request a bit of patience—"

"Patience? We've been here since dawn!"

"Who leaked those documents? Is it true they came from inside the Law Hall?"

"Sir, did the Belnic family fund any Academy programs?"

It was a barrage. The captain looked two seconds away from abandoning his post when suddenly—

Boom.

A wave of pressure hit the area like invisible thunder.

Every microphone trembled, every voice caught in their throats.

The journalists staggered back, their bodies pressed by a heavy, invisible force.

It wasn't just killing intent. It was an S-rank aura — condensed, disciplined, absolute.

And yet, what they felt was barely a whisper of the real thing.

Then, just as suddenly, the pressure vanished.

All heads turned.

From the open gate, a man walked forward — tall, broad-shouldered, his hair pure white, his silver armor polished to a mirror's gleam. His presence alone silenced the crowd.

"I am Zeric Alforn," the man said, voice calm but echoing like iron against stone.

"Dean of the Law Enforcement Hall of the Arcade Academy and I will be answering your questions."

He paused, scanning the crowd with eyes that could cut glass.

"After five minutes, the gates will open. All registered journalists will gather in the Academy's Grand Hall. There, I will clarify every detail regarding this incident."

A murmur rippled through the crowd, excitement and fear blending into one.

Even the most aggressive reporters dared not interrupt.

Zeric nodded once, turned on his heel, and started back inside. But before he could disappear beyond the gate—

A voice, deep and sharp as a drawn blade, sliced through the air.

"Ohhh~. It seems the Law Protectors have gotten lazy by time now it seems the media beat them to their own scandals that were hidden under the nose of Law Hall."

Zeric froze mid-step.

The guards immediately straightened, tension crackling like electricity.

Because that voice… belonged to someone even though he didn't want to cross.

Zeric turned slowly, forcing his tone to remain neutral.

"Who would have thought that scum would sell their morality for money and now everyone is pointing the finger at Academy neutrality…. but the main question is how this media got all the proof, some might Investigate it and send it to them…Who might it be?.

Then Zeric looked at Alastor and said,

"— or perhaps it's your doing, Sword Saint Alastor?"

The man leaning casually against the gatepost smirked, his white cloak fluttering slightly in the wind.

Alastor " the Sword Saint." A living legend. And a man as unpredictable as a storm.

He laughed — loud, genuine, dangerous. "Me? Hah! I'd take the credit if it were true, but sorry to disappoint, old friend. I wasn't the one who called this vulture of the media today."

Zeric's brow twitched. He didn't believe Alastor, but neither could he accuse him.

The man was too unpredictable, too strong, and too admired to corner with politics.

Then Alastor's eyes sharpened — all traces of humor vanishing.

"But," he said softly, voice cold as winter steel, "if I had known earlier.… I'd have killed those instructors myself."

The surrounding air seemed to drop in temperature.

Even Zeric — an S-rank himself — felt the pulse of raw killing intent wash through him like a tide.

"Mr. Alastor," he said sternly, stepping forward, "you cannot. They're under investigation. The law will handle this."

The silence stretched.

Then suddenly Alastor burst out laughing again, the atmosphere snapping back to normal.

"Relax, relax! You Law Hall types are so serious. Of course I wouldn't kill them. Hahaha! But that face of yours, Zeric! You almost turned paler than your hair!"

He clapped the stunned guard captain on the shoulder as he strolled past, still chuckling to himself. "Don't mind me. Just came to watch the show."

Zeric exhaled slowly as Alastor disappeared into the inner courtyard.

'That man,' he thought grimly, 'whether he jokes or not, I can never tell.'

But he remembered vividly the last time Alastor had opposed a noble order on the frontlines.

But not just any ordinary noble but the son of the Duke.

When a duke's son tried to force a squad of commoner soldiers into a suicide charge, Alastor had calmly walked up, smiled, and sliced the noble's sword arm off mid-sentence.

And when the royal court demanded punishment, Alastor's only answer had been:

"If your nobles can't fight, tell them to stay home."

" Just don't order me around like dog that will listen to you"

Alastor is a man who was the embodiment of chaos draped in virtue dangerous, untouchable, necessary.

Zeric sighed deeply and turned back toward the gate.

"Alright," he muttered. "One fire at a time."

Sigh~

" Let me handle this Wolves for now"

(Michael POV)

While the entire nation debated corruption, legality, and the future of the Academy…

…I was sitting in class, watching Leon and Aiden argue over who looked prettier in a childhood photo.

Yeah. Really.

"Hahahaha! Look at this!" Leon practically fell over laughing, holding up his holo-tab. "Aiden, you seriously looked like a little princess!"

"I was five!" Aiden shouted, face red as a tomato. "My mom made me wear that skirt!"

Maria was giggling uncontrollably. Lyra nearly spat out her drink.

Even Selena covered her mouth to hide her laughter.

I leaned forward to look at the photo again — a small, chubby-faced Aiden in a frilly pink dress, sitting on his mother's lap.

"Hmm," I mused aloud. "A beautiful princess and a handsome prince beside her. Perfect match."

Leon froze mid-laugh. "…Wait what?"

I grinned. "You two make a good pair."

The entire class exploded.

Aurelia added fuel to the fire, leaning her cheek on her hand. "Yeah, they do. What do you girls think?"

Maria, Lyra, Selena, and Elara all chimed in unison, "Perfect match!"

Chris raised a thumb. "A match made in heaven."

Leon and Aiden looked at each other like betrayed comrades, then shouted at the same time.

"NEVER HAPPENING!"

The laughter that followed nearly shook the classroom.

Honestly, it felt strange — to laugh like this after the chaos we'd just unleashed.

But maybe that's why everyone was laughing so hard. It was calm before another storm.

Aiden was still sulking, muttering under his breath. "I swear, if I ever catch my mother showing this to anyone again…"

"How did Leon even get it?" I asked.

Aiden groaned. "He saw it at my birthday party! Took a picture of the family album when I wasn't looking!"

Leon smirked smugly. "Hey, blackmail material like that is priceless."

I couldn't help it as I laughed too. "You guys are hopeless."

It was almost easy to forget that just last night, we'd lit a match that could shake the Academy's foundations.

Almost

Shoosh~

---

The door suddenly slid open.

The air shifted instantly. Everyone straightened in their seats.

Instructor Evelyn stepped in, heels clicking softly against the floor. She carried her usual calm, authoritative presence of her sharp eyes sweeping across the class like a silent command.

When her gaze landed on me, it lingered a little longer than usual.

I met her eyes without flinching.

She smiled faintly — the kind of smile that said, I know what you did.

Then she turned back to the class.

"Firstly," Evelyn began, her voice smooth and professional, "today's classes will end at half schedule. You are all aware of the… recent events."

A murmur rippled through the room. She ignored it.

"Secondly, representatives from the Law Enforcement Hall will be conducting individual interviews with every student. You are all to answer their questions honestly."

Her gaze drifted across the room again — subtle, sharp.

So they're starting the internal investigation already, I thought.

"After your interviews," she continued, "you are dismissed for the day. Training grounds and dorms are open as usual."

Everyone nodded, whispering among themselves.

Then she spoke again — this time, my name.

"Student Michael."

I stood up automatically. "Yes, Instructor."

Her smile widened just a fraction. "You have been summoned to the principal office. You should go now."

A dozen eyes turned toward me immediately.

Of course. Attention magnet, as always.

"Understood," I said, keeping my tone steady.

As I gathered my things, I could feel the silent weight of curiosity from every corner of the room.

Leon gave me a discreet nod.

Aiden mouthed, Good luck. Lyra just smirked, like she was expecting me to return with another scandal.

Maria looked at me with confidence.

I didn't look back as I walked out the door.

Because honestly… I already knew what awaited me.

The storm I'd started had only just begun.
