The Exorcism Began in America.

Chapter 70: Room 1408

At 8 p.m., Chu Feng and James walked into the classically decorated hotel entrance, one after the other.

As soon as he entered the lobby, Chu Feng felt as if he had arrived at a palace. A huge, exquisite Crystal chandelier hung from the ceiling, glittering under the lights. On both sides of the walls hung luxurious and exquisite murals, with countless delicate wall ornaments on each side, all showcasing the hotel's unique style and patina of age.

"Mr. Chu Feng, James, welcome!" A spirited, slightly overweight elder came up to greet them.

"And you are?" Chu Feng asked.

"Graman, the manager of the Dolphin Hotel. The owner specifically instructed me to welcome you here."

"Hello, Mr. Graman," the two greeted, lightly shaking hands with the elder.

Noticing the lack of any guests in the lobby, Chu Feng couldn't help but look at the elder before him.

"Is it because of the Exorcism tonight? There don't seem to be many guests in the hotel!"

Upon hearing this, Graman managed a pained smile.

"Mr. Chu, you must be wondering why the Exorcism needs to be performed at night!"

Chu Feng nodded slightly in tacit agreement.

"The extra room in the hotel actually only appears intermittently at night," Graman explained. "And with it, a hotel manager we've never seen before also appears."

An Evil Spirit? Hearing about another unknown hotel manager, Chu Feng murmured to himself.

"He always recommends that room to guests when we're not paying attention," Graman continued. "We've never seen anyone who entered that room come out again."

"So, this is a room that attracts its own guests and devours them?" Chu Feng asked.

"I believe so!"

After listening to Manager Graman's account, Chu Feng gained a general understanding of this Bizarre situation. Now, all that was left was to wait for it to appear.

「...」

After an indeterminate amount of time, just as Chu Feng was beginning to doubt whether it would appear that night, a figure emitting a faint glow suddenly materialized within his Spiritual Perception.

"Finally!"

He opened his eyes and saw a middle-aged black man dressed in a white shirt and a neatly pressed black suit standing not far away. Chu Feng's eyes brightened as he walked directly up to him.

"Hello, are you the hotel manager?" Chu Feng asked, glancing at the nameplate on the man's chest that read "Samuel."

"Hello, I am the manager of this hotel. How can I help you?"

After hearing the response, Chu Feng's eyes narrowed slightly. The voice is a bit stiff; it doesn't sound human. Could it not be an Evil Spirit?

"Does your hotel have any interesting rooms?" Chu Feng inquired.

Hearing Chu Feng's query, a hint of brilliance flashed in Samuel's pupils, and his speech became much more fluid.

"Dear guest, I recommend our specialty room, Room 1408. It will surely provide you with an unforgettable experience!"

"Alright then! I'll try this room."

While verbally agreeing, Chu Feng suddenly felt a sense of familiarity with the term "Room 1408."

Room 1408... 1408~ That's right! It's from that horror movie I saw a long time ago—this Room 1408!

Following behind Samuel, it took Chu Feng some time to finally dredge up the source of his familiarity with Room 1408 from the recesses of his memory.

It seemed this was another Bizarre entity that had made its way from the movie world into reality.

Following Samuel, the two took the elevator and quickly reached the fourteenth floor of the hotel.

"Please follow me."

Samuel stepped out of the elevator first, guiding Chu Feng toward the far end of the corridor.

A few steps out of the elevator, Room 1408 finally appeared within Chu Feng's Spiritual Perception.

It's actually a room constructed from Bizarre energy! Has a guest room turned sentient?

Through his Spiritual Perception, Chu Feng saw the entirety of Room 1408 and was filled with incredulity.

This was Chu Feng's first encounter with such a form of the Bizarre. A sense of eagerness suddenly surged within him; annihilating an entire room was an experience he had never had.

"Mr. Chu, for you. Here is the room key."

They quickly arrived at the doorway of Room 1408. After Samuel opened the door, he handed over an old-fashioned copper key, smiling at Chu Feng.

Chu Feng took the key but, at the same time, firmly grasped Samuel's hand.

"Why don't you join me inside?"

In the blink of an eye, both Chu Feng and Samuel appeared inside Room 1408.

"Mr. Chu, what do you intend to do?"

Chu Feng sneered at the Bizarre entity that continued its act.

"You filthy thing, take another look at who I am!"

With a mere thought, a golden light instantly enveloped Chu Feng's body. His right hand, already wreathed in Spiritual Power, clenched into a fist the size of a sandbag and hammered down viciously at Samuel's body.

Samuel's expression instantly reverted to a rigid state. He made no move to dodge, instead meeting Chu Feng's punch head-on with his chest.

BOOM!

Under the assault of Chu Feng's Demon-breaking Fist, Samuel's body instantly turned to ash, ceasing to exist.

It really wasn't an Evil Spirit!

Not receiving any reward notification from the system, Chu Feng wore an unsurprised expression.

It seemed Samuel was merely a tool conjured by this Bizarre room to lure "food" for itself, holding no real value.

He glanced back at the still wide-open door. It seemed to be telling him his Exorcism Task was complete and he could leave.

"Heh," Chu Feng chuckled lightly. Without any intention of leaving, he sat down commandingly on the sofa in the center of the room.

"Room 1408, I've heard about you!" Chu Feng picked up the ashtray from the coffee table, toying with it in his hand.

"You seem to enjoy toying with humans, especially harvesting their shattered souls after driving them to despair!"

CRACK! As soon as Chu Feng's words fell, the door of Room 1408 instantly slammed shut.

Seeing this, Chu Feng smirked with indifference.

"What? No more pretense? Good, let's begin!"

With that, Chu Feng hurled the ashtray in his hand violently at the radio on the nightstand.

Sparks flew as the radio, which had somehow begun a one-hour countdown, instantly shattered, emitting a wisp of blue smoke.

The lights on the ceiling and walls began to flicker incessantly, accompanied by the ZZZZT and CRACKLE of electricity. The dimly lit room gave one the distinct feeling of being in a horror movie.

In a flash of golden light, a familiar shotgun appeared in Chu Feng's hand.

He savagely kicked the coffee table at his feet towards the closed door. The wooden door, now seemingly as hard as steel, remained undamaged even as the table shattered against it from the violent impact.
