The Exorcism Began in America.

Chapter 241: Oh no, there's an Exorcist!

When Chu Feng opened his eyes again, all he could see was a vast expanse of ghastly white ash.

It was only after he was dazed for a while that he slowly remembered his current location: Maine, Augusta, atop the ruins of the Parliament Building.

Too reckless! Next time I must find a safe place first!

Chu Feng frowned slightly. He felt a slight discomfort from the slowly blurring memories in his mind, a persistent feeling that some changes had occurred within him.

After casually assigning the Attribute Points he hadn't distributed yet, he looked at the brand new Attribute Panel and raised an eyebrow.

Host: Chu Feng

Identity: Demon Hunter (First Rank)

Lifespan: 1,000 (Reached the limit)

Strength: 920

Physique: 918

Spirit: 918

Spiritual Power: 946

Soon! If there were another Bizarre being like Mary Shaw, I should be able to Advance to Second Rank directly!

With his task completed, Chu Feng naturally had no reason to stay. After identifying the direction of New York, he suddenly transformed into a streak of rainbow light and vanished over the horizon.

"COUGH... COUGH COUGH..."

Not long after the rainbow light vanished over the horizon, a staggering figure arrived at this battlefield, which could only be described as ruins.

Staring at the vanished Parliament Building, Mr. Bower, possibly the last surviving legislator in Maine, looked stunned.

This... Did I come to the wrong place? Where is the Parliament Building that was supposed to be here?

He looked around incredulously and finally confirmed from the familiar exteriors of the surrounding buildings that this was indeed the location of the Parliament Building.

"Those damned bastards... they didn't die along with that Bizarre, did they!" Mr. Bower murmured to himself as he looked out over the ruins.

For a moment, unsure whether to feel sorrow or joy, Bower simply stood there, stupefied.

「...」

In Texas, Jefferson, who had just hung up the phone, looked troubled as he turned to the woman beside him.

"Boss, what should we do? Are we going to get involved in this?"

Jessica, sitting in her chair, turned her head to look at the red sky outside.

"Of course! If those Mexicans really break through, the favorable position we've painstakingly built will be hard to maintain!"

"Okay, I'll go notify them now!"

Seeing Jessica had made her decision, Jefferson had no objections. He picked up the phone and walked out.

After all, as a native Texan, he certainly didn't have much affection for the neighboring country, especially under the current circumstances. Preoccupied with their own troubles, they had no desire to deal with these foreigners who had abandoned their homelands.

The Texas border was extraordinarily lively today. The sound of gunfights, like beans popping, had crackled all day long and had only gradually quieted down now, though explosions still occasionally went off.

"Damn it! These hell-bound traffickers, how could they have so much weaponry and ammunition!"

On the wide battlefield, a National Guardsman searched for suspicious targets with his gun drawn, cursing as if to vent his anger.

"You'll have to ask our damned federal government about that!"

A casual retort from a comrade beside him made everyone around burst into laughter.

"That's right, the damned federal government!"

The soldier, having searched for a long time without seeing a soul, shrank back. He glanced at the red sky and shook his head.

"What the hell is going on over there? Why are they running crazily towards us?"

His comrade, lying down and resting, heard him and glanced at the crimson glow in the distant sky, then pursed his lips.

"Must be something to do with this damn red light! Didn't you notice?" he said, pointing to the sky in the distance and shrugging. "The closer you get over there, the thicker that damn red light becomes!"

"Fuck, don't tell me Hell has appeared?"

A sudden remark from the side made them all pause, plunging them into a brief silence.

Staring at the ground, lost in thought, none of them noticed a faint white mist that had appeared out of nowhere and was slowly enveloping them.

Meanwhile, a few hundred meters from their position, a group of people surrounded a black-robed figure, their eyes filled with eagerness, completely ignoring the bloody sacrifice and the strange, rune-covered objects in front of the robed figure.

"Master Jose, how is it?"

Seeing the black-robed figure finally open his eyes, a man in the crowd, wearing sunglasses and holding a long rifle, asked eagerly.

The black-robed man, Jose, glanced indifferently at the impatient man and nodded slightly.

"No Exorcists were found in the selected area. Those soldiers have been dealt with. We can go over now!"

"Really? That's great!"

The man excitedly raised his rifle. He was about to pull the trigger but then, as if remembering something, his finger froze, and he restrained his impulse.

"Did you hear that? Those damn American soldiers blocking our way are dead! Now, grab your weapons and follow me! We have to break through this time!"

Scanning the crowd, the man's lips curled up slightly. "If you don't want to be killed by those things from Hell, then keep moving!

"Now, move out!"

The surrounding crowd, who had been apprehensive, were all thrilled by this news. Gripping their firearms tightly, they turned and swarmed northward in a rush. Their charge lacked any formation or order; they were just a disorganized mob.

After waiting a while and confirming no gunfire came from the distant encampment, the man who had just given the speech glanced toward his homeland. The blood-red vista made him shudder.

"Master Jose, we should move out quickly too!" he urged, his voice trembling slightly.

The sound caused the corners of the mouth of the figure beneath the black robe to twitch. This man has none of the confidence he had during his speech.

He turned his head, his eyes full of apprehension as he glanced behind him, then nodded slightly.

"Mm, let's move out too."

Seeing the black-robed man agree, the leader was overjoyed and immediately called his underlings to help Master Jose pack his things.

"You don't need to. I can... URGH... PTHH..."

Just as the black-robed man watched the group clumsily packing his belongings, blood suddenly sprayed from his mouth.

"Not good... there's an Exorcist!"

After forcing out those words, the black-robed man's eyes rolled back, and he fainted.

The underling who was packing looked at the figure collapsed on the ground, then at his boss, momentarily unsure what to do.

"Boss, do we keep packing?"

The underling's dumbstruck expression snapped the leader back to his senses.

"Pack, my ass! We can't stay here! Let's get the hell out!"

With those words, he immediately turned and ran off in another direction.

"Boss, what about Master Jose?"

Unfortunately, his boss had already run a considerable distance and didn't hear his shout.
