Chapter 233: Murder?
The suburbs of Augusta.
"Billy likes this city!" a puppet in a black suit with a red bow tie at its collar expressed its joy in a quacking, duck-like voice.
Watching the high-rise buildings and vaguely visible pedestrians in the distance, the puppet Billy quickly patted the arms holding it.
"Quick! Quick! Master, Billy wants to go play games with them!"
BANG. A slap landed directly on its head.
"I think I've already said no running around now!" The old woman's voice was full of impatience.
"Oh~"
The previously excited voice suddenly became subdued. Though just a puppet, it seemed almost like a real person displaying its dejection.
"Hey! What is that?"
"Such an ugly doll!"
"Hey, you two, don't start trouble!"
...
Four young people, who looked like they had just finished school, happened to pass by on their bicycles.
Billy's conspicuous appearance immediately caught their attention.
Two of the youths exchanged glances, mischievous smiles on their faces, and then closed in on her.
"Lady, are you carrying that ugly doll to find it a daddy?"
"Hahaha..."
Mary Shaw, standing by the road, was not angered. Looking at the two provocative young men, she instead showed a slight smile and glanced down into her arms.
"Billy, do you need a daddy?"
"No! No! Billy doesn't need a daddy, Billy just needs friends!"
The previously still puppet suddenly spoke, startling the two young men.
"Fuck! What the hell is this?"
The young men took a couple of steps back, eyeing the old woman with suspicion and uncertainty, wondering if she was playing tricks on them.
"I think I've seen this act online. It must be ventriloquism!"
Another young man wearing a peaked cap came over from behind them, looking somewhat excited at the old lady and her puppet.
"Oh? You've seen this Bizarre thing?"
The two young men relaxed a bit when their companion seemed familiar with the Bizarre spectacle.
They had thought they had encountered something Bizarre!
"Billy is not a Bizarre thing! Billy is alive!"
The puppet's argumentative voice made the youth with the peaked cap even more excited. "Xie Te! So the performance in that video was real!"
He slowly reached his hand towards the top of the puppet, as if wanting to touch its body.
Lingering behind the others, the chubby boy pushing his bike felt an uneasy sensation.
"Tom, let's go! Something doesn't feel right!"
The chubby boy's faint voice didn't catch the attention of the three ahead. However, Mary Shaw, who was holding Billy, looked up. Her gaze passed over the three in front of her, and a smile touched her lips.
For some reason, watching the scene before him, the chubby boy felt a chilling sensation rise from the depths of his heart; he instinctively wanted to flee.
"Tom, I... I have something else to do. I'll go first. See you tomorrow!"
Leaving those words behind, without waiting for a reaction, he mounted his bike, ready to leave immediately.
"Master, Billy likes this little chubby boy. Billy doesn't want him to go!"
The puppet's duck-like voice made the heart of the figure already on his bike tremble, and a sudden, ominous premonition struck him.
"Then let's keep him here!" The old lady's voice was light-hearted, as if she was in a rather good mood.
Feeling the pedals under his feet suddenly grow much heavier with the old woman's voice, the chubby boy's heart also sank instantly.
He looked down. The sight below made his pupils constrict instantly.
Pieces of wriggling flesh had unknowingly filled the bicycle's wheels; even the chain had not been spared.
Those strip-like pieces of flesh were still writhing madly upwards, about to make intimate contact with his buttocks.
A middle school student like him had never witnessed such a horrifying and spine-chilling scene.
The little fatty, already known at school for being faint-hearted, lost consciousness before he could even scream.
"Oh! Billy really doesn't like cowards!"
Billy's disappointed, duck-like voice snapped the three stunned young men standing nearby out of their daze.
Three piercing screams erupted, lasting less than a second before abruptly ceasing.
Looking at the three fresh, rosy tongues in her hand, Mary Shaw slowly nodded.
"I still prefer young people!"
As she slightly parted her lips, the three rosy tongues quickly disappeared into her mouth.
"Master, what should we do with this coward?" Billy tugged at Mary Shaw's sleeve and asked.
Mary Shaw's cheeks showed no change, even though she had just acquired three new tongues.
After glancing at the unconscious little fatty on the ground, then looking up at the sports car speeding towards them in the distance, the corners of her mouth curled up slightly.
「Half a minute later.」
BANG. The unconscious little fatty would never wake up again!
The sports car sped forward a hundred meters before slowly stopping. Inside, a man and a woman stared at the crimson bloodstains and an object resembling an eyeball on the windshield, shouting incessantly.
...
In the skies above Augusta, Chu Feng wore an inexplicable expression as he looked down at the "perfectly normal" city below, murmuring to himself.
Her tentacles have already reached here!
He could still faintly hear occasional screams from the city.
Clearly, Mary Shaw was, at that very moment, diligently expanding her puppet enterprise.
Tsk! Let me think, how can I meet this old lady who is so focused on the puppet business.
In the city below, a swirling, Bizarre aura was visible everywhere. Pinpointing her true location would indeed be a troublesome matter.
Footsteps resonated through the streets of Augusta as Chu Feng looked around at the passing pedestrians, raising an eyebrow.
Some pedestrians hurried along, masked and clutching bags full of food, rushing to their homes like thieves.
As for the rest...
ROAR.
Hearing a sudden bestial roar behind him, he slowly turned, his face impassive as he calmly looked at the blond woman behind him.
Apparently not expecting such a nonchalant reaction from Chu Feng, the blond woman shrugged, turned to leave, and scoffed.
"Sorry, mistaken identity!"
Her insincere apology caused Chu Feng to narrow his eyes slightly.
BANG.
With that dull thud, the street erupted with numerous cries of terror.
"Murder!"
"Oh God! There's a maniac here!"
"Help!"
...
The shouts of the surrounding pedestrians quickly attracted an even larger audience.
Then, an even wider range of horrified cries arose.
Chu Feng calmly withdrew his golden-glowing palm from the blond woman's back. A sneer touched his lips as he listened to the surrounding cries of terror. "Heh. Quite a performance!"
