The Exorcism Began in America.

Chapter 108: The Collapsing Battlefield

At this moment, Chu Feng, who was lying in a tent at the campsite, had just hung up the phone.

Holy Advent Society... These pesky creatures really know how to stir things up! Chu Feng murmured as he fiddled with his phone.

It was none other than Chu Feng's new liaison officer who had made the call, and it was from him that Chu Feng found out about Terry's ordeal.

However, leaving a survivor... That doesn't seem like something the Holy Advent Society would do, does it?

Although he was doubtful, it didn't have much to do with him. He buried the question in his mind and closed his eyes to rest.

Tomorrow is the last Gate of Breaking Boundary. Ensuring my condition is the most important thing.

「The next day」

The weather was clear, and the early morning air was fresh.

Having already received the second payment, Chu Feng could hardly wait to jump into the off-road vehicle first thing in the morning and set out beyond the campsite.

Weird, where did everybody go?

Driving slowly through the campsite, Chu Feng found the deserted tents around him somewhat odd.

The Exorcism Unit personnel who left with the vehicles definitely returned yesterday. Why are they nowhere to be seen this early?

Forget it, the last one hundred million US dollars is more important! Shaking his head, Chu Feng immediately drove the off-road vehicle out of the campsite.

The last Gate of Breaking Boundary was located to the northwest of Portland, which meant that if Chu Feng wanted to drive there, he would need to find another, more accessible road.

Chu Feng, driving the off-road vehicle, took quite a detour to the north, spending over half an hour crossing the wilderness before finally getting the vehicle back onto the highway.

Glancing at the miles-long traffic jam behind him, Chu Feng just shook his head.

Panic is indeed the fundamental cause of many incidents.

The road ahead of Chu Feng was quite clear compared to the situation behind him. At least he didn't have to take his off-road vehicle off-road again!

Strange. Aren't they supposed to be carrying around little canisters collecting Bizarre? Chu Feng muttered in confusion.

He was already halfway through his journey, yet he hadn't encountered a single member of the federal government's Exorcism Unit. This was indeed odd.

BANG. BANG. BANG... A faint series of sounds started reaching his ears as Chu Feng advanced.

Hm? That sounds like gunfire!

The off-road vehicle continued on, and the sounds by Chu Feng's ears grew clearer.

BOOM! BANG! BANG! A multitude of explosions and gunfire now filled Chu Feng's ears.

The intense sound of shots and artillery made Chu Feng feel as if he were near a battlefield.

Could it be them? Chu Feng murmured, looking in the direction of the sounds.

No, I have to check it out. I can't miss out on such excitement!

Chu Feng, with a certain Talent awakened within him, felt as if a cat were scratching at his heart. He had to see what the commotion was about.

He pressed the gas pedal of the off-road vehicle hard and headed straight towards the source of the gunfire and explosions.

A few minutes later, his off-road vehicle was forced to stop in the middle of the road.

"Mr. Chu Feng, this area has been blocked off by the Military. You cannot go through!" said a masked member of the Lionheart Exorcism Squadron.

Looking at the few people in front of him, Chu Feng narrowed his eyes as he sat in the car and looked around. No one else! It seems that aside from these few, the rest must have gone to the battlefield.

Chu Feng smiled at them, turned the off-road vehicle around, drove away some distance, and then stopped the car behind a tall building.

Having gotten out of the car, Chu Feng glanced at the location where gunfire still sounded incessantly and let out a soft chuckle.

Block my way? You think you can stop me?

His figure instantly vanished from its original spot. After a slight detour, Chu Feng finally approached the battlefield.

With a powerful leap, he jumped onto the rooftop of a three-story building and finally saw the battlefield not far away.

In the center of the battlefield stood a colossal Demon with two horns on its head, howling up at the sky.

"Damn reptiles!"

It casually threw a black shadow at its feet and then stomped heavily. A blood-red flower instantly bloomed on the ground.

The Exorcism Unit members dressed in grey and black Combat Suits paused almost simultaneously at this scene, and beneath their masks, heavy breathing began to sound.

Thinking they can take on a Demon with these people? Were they drunk before leaving this morning? Chu Feng shook his head after comparing the strength of the two sides.

Right! I almost forgot, they still have that thing...

At the rear of the battlefield, several Exorcism Unit members were guarding a box, inching it closer to the battlefield, terrified of being detected by the Demon prematurely.

"Keep firing, suppress it!" a familiar shout erupted in the suddenly quiet center of the battlefield.

Lieutenant Colonel Moody's voice?

Chu Feng looked in the direction of the voice and, sure enough, saw a bear-like figure standing tall in the center of the battlefield.

Isn't one captured Demon enough?

He hadn't expected them to have just escorted one Demon away, only to set their sights on a second one immediately after returning...

Unfortunately, the gunfire wasn't enough to harm the Demon's body. In fact, I faintly feel this Demon is just playing around, not taking Lieutenant Colonel Moody and his men seriously at all.

As if the blood flower that had just bloomed on the ground had caught the Demon's interest, it completely ignored the bullets hitting its body. Its figure flickered, and in an instant, it appeared above one of the Exorcism Unit members.

CRUNCH!

The Demon's dark-purple, massive foot instantly fell, and another bright blood flower appeared on the ground.

"Damn it! Hurry up!"

Anger was written all over Lieutenant Colonel Moody's face, but he was helpless against the Demon's overwhelming power and could only scream into the communicator around his neck, his face full of fury.

The Exorcism Unit members by his side, seeing the Demon playing happily at the center of the battlefield, already had fear filling their eyes.

"Why run? Weren't you having a good time fighting just now?" The Demon instantly appeared behind an Exorcism Unit member who was fleeing desperately, and its huge, dark-purple claw directly grabbed him.

With a mocking taunt, the dark-purple claw instantly clenched, and a stream of fresh red liquid slowly flowed down between its fingers.

Facing the Demon's ghostly figure, gunfire could not aim accurately, and the Exorcism Unit members at the center of the battlefield finally broke down completely.

"Help! I want to go home..."

"FUCK, I can't die in this damned place..."

"..."

The routed Exorcism Unit members scattered in all directions, heedless of Lieutenant Colonel Moody's shouts.

Lieutenant Colonel Moody, having angrily emptied his weapon's ammunition, now desperately wanted to request missile support.

But remembering his superiors' orders, he could only furiously throw his rifle to the ground.

"Damn it..."

He knew the higher-ups, eager to capture another Demon, would never approve his request.
