Chapter 22 Where did that bitch go?
Jun Jiu commanded, “Bi Luo, leave her at Jun Haitian’s door. Warn him before provoking me again. This is the end!”
“Very well,” Bi Luo nodded. She glanced at the unconscious maid and asked, “Master, what should we do with her?”
“Kill her.”
Bi Luo immediately retrieved a sharp sword, raised it, and swiftly ended the maid’s life.
Seeing this, Jun Qianqian widened her eyes in shock. Was this really Bi Luo? Wasn’t Bi Luo sent by her father to monitor Jun Jiu? How had she become loyal to Jun Jiu?
She also saw Bi Luo coming to apprehend her. Jun Qianqian struggled in fear and anger, but with her tendons broken, she was nothing but a paralyzed cripple. She lacked the ability to resist as Bi Luo grabbed her and dragged her away. In the process, a small kit fell from Jun Qianqian’s possession.
Xiao Wu narrowed its eyes, jumped off the table, and used its paws to open the kit. It seemed to find something intriguing and carried the kit towards Jun Jiu. “Master, look.”
Jun Jiu had been pouring medicine powder onto the corpses on the ground. The powder fell, and the corpses were reduced to ashes without a sound. In the end, not even ashes remained—only burnt patches on the carpet, bearing witness to what had transpired.
Hearing Xiao Wu’s words, Jun Jiu put away the medicine bottle and turned around. “What’s the matter?”
Xiao Wu opened the bag and presented a small, crystal-clear stone to Jun Jiu. “This is a spirit stone. The energy it contains can aid the master in cultivation.”
“Spirit stone?”
Jun Jiu raised an eyebrow, examining the stone closely. She found the answer in her memories.
A spirit stone was an exceedingly rare treasure, crucial for spiritual practitioners. In comparison to absorbing the spiritual energy of the heavens and earth, the energy within spirit stones was purer and easier to absorb, readily converting into spiritual power.
The original owner had been incapable of using the spirit stone due to their incompetence. In Jun Qianqian’s bag, there was only one the size of a fingernail, which she cherished deeply, highlighting the preciousness of spirit stones.
Jun Jiu’s eyes flickered as she stated, “These few spirit stones won’t be sufficient for my cultivation. But I know where to obtain more.”
“Where?” Xiao Wu appeared even more excited than Jun Jiu.
“There’s a spirit stone mining site outside Fengluo City. They hold a stone appreciation event there on the fifteenth day of every month. You can buy and sell unmined rough stones.”
“Oh, like jade?” Xiao Wu exclaimed. “Master, let’s go! Let’s attend the stone appreciation event!”
Jun Jiu was amused by Xiao Wu’s enthusiasm. She reached out to pick up Xiao Wu. “Alright, let’s go.”
They could still make it to the stone appreciation event in time.
Meanwhile, when Jun Haitian returned to the mansion, he discovered that Jun Qianqian had been rendered completely helpless. In a fit of rage, he dispatched his men to apprehend Jun Jiu. However, to his dismay, Jun Jiu was nowhere to be found in East Lake Garden.
“Jun Jiu! Where has that wretch gone?” Jun Haitian angrily grabbed Bi Luo.
Terrified, Bi Luo stammered, “Master, Bi Luo doesn’t know! Jun Jiu instructed the servant to take the Second Young Lady back, and then she disappeared.”
“You useless fool!” Jun Haitian berated her, throwing Bi Luo out.
Unbeknownst to him, as Bi Luo hit the ground, a dark glint flashed in her eyes as she lowered her head.
Jun Qianqian desperately wished to warn Jun Haitian that Bi Luo was loyal to Jun Jiu. However, her injuries prevented her from speaking, and her entire body was wracked with pain. She could only keep her eyes wide open, unable to halt the tears that flowed freely.
The pain was unbearable. She regretted ever crossing paths with Jun Jiu.
