5. Numbers and Distractions
Raj slowly opened his eyes, and was greeted by a beautiful morning view of his little clearing. I really needed that sleep, huh? Raj thought, stretching. He took a second to process what had happened the day before. It was almost unbelievable, but against all odds, he had managed to come out on top. A jolt of pain made him remember how the fight had ended. Superhuman healing can’t fix everything I guess.
Raj decided it was finally time to address the prompts that were cluttering his vision.

Raj excitedly opened his Status to see the changes.

Numbers are crunching, and I am a happy man, Raj giddily thought as he rubbed his hands together in his most sinister impression. As for my Free Points…
Raj put 1 point into INT and 1 point into WIS immediately. He was close to running out of MP in the last fight, and he could always use the boosted mana regen. It seemed like all his regens were the correlated stat divided by 10, but Raj couldn’t be sure. He then decided to dump both of his remaining points into AGI, and closed the screen. He could always use the speed. He preferred to not get hit by deadly attacks and weapons, though that was a personal preference.
With that done, Raj checked on his wounds. His legs were mostly healed up, with only scars left to show. His arms on the other hand were still somewhat injured. They were gouged much deeper by the wolf claws, and would take a bit longer to heal. They were still fit enough for combat, however. and Raj could take the minimal pain. My time with Indian parents has upped my pain tolerance, after all. So I should be good. That thought made Raj shudder, deciding to not take that trip down memory lane.
Instead, he decided to plan out his day. To start off with, he already had shelter, and the lake seemed like a good water source. So the most pressing issue was food. He hadn’t eaten since early last night, and all the physical activity he had been doing had drained him.
Raj vaguely remembered seeing some sort of animal carcass that looked like a boar relatively close to where he fought the wolves, so he made to leave the cave. As he got up however, something caught his eye. He turned to face the end of the cave, about 5 feet from where he currently stood, and saw a glint in the wall. Curious, he walked towards it and leaned forward. He was rewarded for his world-class detective work with a ring. With a thought, he activated Identify(Common).
Spatial Ring(Common-H): A ring capable of storing items within a storage space. Items can be placed into the storage space, and summoned back out at will.
“HAHA, Jackpot!” Raj whooped excitedly, doing a little happy dance. A spatial bag, or ring in this case, was essentially a necessity if you wanted to survive and grow stronger. Based on everything Raj had ever read anyway. But even logically, a spatial storage could allow you to carry everything you need right on your person without having to either juggle all of your belongings, or leave some items behind. He slipped it on his ring finger, and started testing it out. After a couple of minutes of this testing, he finally determined that the storage space was about the size of a bathtub, so nothing too big, but still very handy. The rest of the ring was exactly as the description said. With the joy of his new ring still showing on his face, he decided it was time to finally address the food issue.
He stepped out of the cave, and was immediately assaulted with the same morning sunlight that he was praising earlier. I wonder how much time has passed, Raj mused. That thought prompted him to open the tutorial page.
Welcome to the Tutorial
Information: The Tutorial will proceed for 30 days. The only required criteria for completion is survival. Anything else is extra and will thus be rewarded for.
Countdown: 29 days, 13 hours and 43 minutes
Tutorial Contribution(TC) will be given to all participants for any actions that impact the tutorial or the beings inside it. This includes slaying monsters or other humans, as well as completing or contributing to the completion of objectives. The leaders in terms of TC will be given rewards at the end of the tutorial in accordance to the amount of TC they have. TC is not visible as points by the participants.
Objectives: A power lurks in the grassy plains to the East of the forest. Defeat the monstrosity and its 3 most powerful subordinates to complete the objective.
A new countdown had been added to the page, which is what Raj had been hoping for. What he had not been hoping for, however, was the fact that, despite everything that he had been through, it had not even been half of a day.
“How is that even possible?” He bemoaned. “Whatever, enough distractions. I am going to get some food, even if it kills me!” With that happy thought in mind, he started marching in the direction of the forest where the boar came from, his sword held tight in hand.
