The Enhanced Doctor

Chapter 81: 081 is hospitalized

Liu Banxia was now very enthusiastic about his job. Although the daily tasks were a bit tedious, they certainly earned him Glory Points.

Glory Points were definitely a good thing. While they might not be as valuable as attribute points, they offered good value. Nowadays, he spent most of his time in the Dreamscape. Only through continuous training could he achieve results.

This was probably a special feature of the system. It offered some convenience, but in a real sense, it was essentially an auxiliary tool. If you wanted to gain, you had to work hard yourself.

With a total of 432 experience points, 180 Wound Dressing Skill proficiency, and 5 Glory Points, Liu Banxia was very satisfied.

"Hello, Director Jiang."

Upon seeing Jiang Tao, Liu Banxia greeted him warmly.

Jiang Tao looked at him in surprise. "You still have the leisure to run over here?"

"Um... Director Jiang, what's going on?" Liu Banxia asked hurriedly.

Jiang Tao took a good look at him. "So you genuinely don't know? Didn't you see the announcement? The hospital committee has approved your position. I reckon they'll be looking for you to sign the contract today."

Liu Banxia was stunned. He instinctively thought Jiang Tao was joking with him. How could it be? It can't be this fast.

Licking his somewhat dry lips, he said, "Director Jiang, don't tease me; I get scared easily. My training isn't finished yet, I don't even have a training certificate."

"Why would I tease you? It was a matter of special approval anyway. Now that you're allowed to stay in the hospital, wouldn't the training certificate be issued directly?" Jiang Tao shook his head.

Liu Banxia forgot to say thanks. He dashed off. His speed truly pushed his agility and endurance to their limits.

If he had been on the verge of madness from joy in Zhou Shuwen's office yesterday, then he was already mad now.

He ran to the outpatient hall and saw the latest announcement posted on the bulletin board. Liu Banxia's grin was so wide an oral surgeon could have examined his teeth on the spot.

Director Jiang hadn't lied to him; it was clearly written there, with the official stamp of the Second Hospital below.

DING! Task: Secure a position at the hospital - Completed. Task Reward: None.

There were quite a few doctors watching. After all, it was the first time many of them had seen the hospital issue such a public announcement for hiring a resident doctor. Usually, such announcements were only for management positions like directors and deputy directors.

However, some observant people noticed that the announcement stated Liu Banxia was hired as a resident doctor in the Emergency Department of the Second Hospital. This meant Liu Banxia belonged to the Emergency Department, not the General Surgery Department.

In other words, aside from Qin Hai, the current director of the Emergency Department, he was the only doctor exclusively assigned to it.

Liu Banxia saw this too, but he didn't care; Zhou Shuwen had mentioned it yesterday. As long as he could stay at the Second Hospital, he was very satisfied.

After reading it, he took out his phone and snapped a picture. Then, he dashed towards the Emergency Department. This officially announced news had to be shared.

"Not bad, kid! You definitely have to treat us to a good meal when you have a day off." As soon as he reached the Emergency Department, Liu Banxia got a friendly thump on the arm from Zhou Li.

"Dr. Liu, congratulations!"

"Guardian, well done!"

"Dr. Liu, keep it up!"

"Ha ha, Guardian, that's awesome!"

"Dr. Liu, congratulations, congratulations! Where are the celebratory candies?"

Various congratulatory and teasing voices came from all directions, instantly overwhelming Liu Banxia.

"Heh heh... HA HA HA... Heh heh..." Liu Banxia, practically mad with joy, could only manage a goofy laugh, oblivious to how long his mouth had been hanging open.

"Alright, let him go to the Human Resources Department to sign the contract first," Wang Ying called out with a smile.

"Sister Wang, you all knew?" Liu Banxia ran to her side.

"Silly boy, we have the announcement here too. Why didn't you look when you came over? Shi Lei was just here; he said you should go directly to the Human Resources Department when you get back," Wang Ying said with a smile.

"Yeah, I'll go now," Liu Banxia responded cheerfully.

He eagerly trotted off to the Human Resources Department. To his surprise, he was received by Chief Chu of the Human Resources Department.

"Dr. Liu, I've been waiting for you. Here's the contract; take a look first." Chief Chu handed over two contracts.

Liu Banxia opened one and was stunned after a quick glance. "Chief Chu, there's no mistake with the contract, is there? Signing for five years? Isn't it usually three years?"

This was definitely something he had to ask about. There were, after all, conventions for signing employment contracts in hospitals.

Normally, there were hospital-hired positions on flexible contracts, with personnel files stored with the public talent agency. The benefits were similar to those with permanent, established positions. Another type was department-hired positions, which were purely contractual employees, and this distinction would also be reflected in their salary.

Neither of these typically came with an established position, and contracts were usually signed for three years. A five-year contract was different; it implied a formal, established position, and the personnel files had to be kept by the hospital.

To put it simply, the essential difference was this: the state mandates annual salary increases, right? When salaries went up, those with established positions received back pay starting from January. Those without established positions only started receiving the increased wage from the month the raise was officially confirmed.

"Dr. Liu, it's not just you; even I initially thought we'd prepared the wrong one. But this is the hospital's decision. As the first dedicated doctor in the Emergency Department, you're entitled to certain privileges," Chief Chu said with a smile.

Liu Banxia nodded, not bothering to read further. These were all standard-form contracts. If his abilities were more substantial, reaching expert level, he might have been able to negotiate terms like salary with the hospital.

Right now? Just sign it, no need to be difficult.

"Dr. Liu, congratulations. Your new work badge will be sent to you in the afternoon. Once you confirm where your personnel file is located, I'll issue you a file transfer letter," Chief Chu said.

"Thank you, Chief Chu. My personnel files are still in my home county. I'll contact my family in the next couple of days and see if they can help bring them over," Liu Banxia said.

"Okay, just let me know when you're sure. The transfer letter is easy to arrange," Chief Chu said with a smile.

After leaving the Human Resources Department and seeing no one around, Liu Banxia gave a joyful leap. This wasn't the place for it; otherwise, he would have wanted to let out a few joyful shouts.

He truly hadn't expected that not only would he get to stay at the hospital, but it even came with an established position.

To put it a bit dramatically, he felt like a common farm chicken that, even if it hadn't transformed directly into a phoenix, had at least soared to a high branch.

Consider this: at the Second Hospital, there were still quite a few attending physicians without established positions. One could only imagine how precious his established position was.

He didn't go straight back to the Emergency Department. He absolutely had to thank Zhou Shuwen in person for this.

Perhaps it was a stroke of luck, but without Zhou Shuwen's staunch support, what would he have amounted to?
