Chapter 2: Awakening of the Mind
Leo's eyes darted around in confusion and shock. 'Who's there?' he called out, his voice echoing through the desolate lab. The emptiness around him seemed to close in, amplifying his sense of isolation as he strained to catch any sign of movement or sound.
You can't see me,' the mysterious voice answered, its tone calm yet unsettling. The words seemed to reverberate through the air, sending a shiver down Leo's spine.
'Don't be scared. I'm your partner. I dwell deep in your soul and mind,' the mysterious voice intoned. 'You might not understand, but I was created to restrict, or should I say, be the boundary for your mind so that it won't wander without restriction.' As the voice spoke, an inexplicable sense of understanding washed over him. He could feel the truth in its words, even though he couldn't comprehend why he was so certain.
'Don't be confused. I am a part of you, in both soul and body,' the voice responded to his bewilderment. Each word seemed to resonate within him, calming his racing thoughts. The connection he felt with the voice was undeniable, as if it was intertwined with his very essence, offering a strange sense of reassurance amid his confusion.
'I will input all the key information you need now so that you will know what to do from here,' the voice consoled. Immediately after, Leo's eyes dimmed and he collapsed to the ground, lifeless. The sudden influx of information had overwhelmed his newly awakened mind, forcing it to shut down in order to process the deluge of data. His body lay still on the cold, hard floor, as his consciousness retreated into the depths of his mind, sorting through the newly implanted knowledge.
The knowledge of the war, the Made Gods, and the Lunarians flooded his mind, each piece of information fitting into place like a puzzle. He understood the monumental events that had led to the devastation around him, the roles played by these powerful beings, and the intricate web of alliances and betrayals. But there was something else, something deeper.
It was the knowledge of the Six Principles and their profound impact on the Made Gods. Each principle was a cornerstone of their existence, dictating their powers, weaknesses, and the delicate balance that governed their interactions with the world and each other. Understanding these principles gave him insight into the very fabric of reality that had been altered by their presence, and how these powerful beings had come to wield such immense influence.
He had to admit, despite his deep-seated hatred for that bastard Singh, he couldn't deny the man's brilliance. Singh's twisted genius was evident in every aspect of the lab and the experiments conducted there. It was a bitter pill to swallow, acknowledging the intellect of someone so detestable, but the evidence of Singh's brilliance was undeniable.
According to the information, the Super Neuro Link implanted in each Made God allowed humans to transcend the barriers of dimensions. The chip's material composition made it theoretically possible to push one's mind to the fifth dimension. However, such advancements were beyond the reach of present-day humanity. After all, where could they possibly find a material compatible with the fifth dimension?
With this augmentation, all Made Gods possessed a range of dimensional abilities. Some had their minds anchored in the second dimension, while others operated in the third and fourth dimensions. This breakthrough allowed humans to become the first race not confined or restricted to a single dimension, enabling them to transcend traditional barriers and explore the multi-dimensional reality in ways previously unimaginable.
Despite all these advancements, no one had ever possessed the materials necessary to ascend to the fifth or first dimension. Humanity was still in the early stages of its interaction with the universe, and their only contact with other species had been with the Lunarians. This limitation left the full potential of dimensional travel still largely unexplored and shrouded in mystery.
But even with all these advancements, each Made God could only root their mind in one dimension. He, however, was different. He could explore different dimensions of existence at his whim, fully grasping the principles hidden within each one. Remarkably, and to his astonishment, he could also reach the first dimension, fully comprehending the principle of energy that resided within. Only God knew how that twisted genius Singh had managed such a feat.
However, despite his incredible abilities, he couldn't reach the fifth dimension. The realms of space and time remained elusive, just beyond his grasp.
He also received information about the voice. It was supposedly a part of his soul that the bastard Singh had separated, designed to guide and limit his mind from wandering uncontrollably through the dimensional barriers and driving him mad. This voice served as an anchor for his humanity, keeping him grounded. Despite being a separate entity, it was still an integral part of him. Apparently, it called itself Lindon.
Finally, upon receiving this information, he was stunned by the reality of it all. The war, the Made Gods, the Lunarians—it was overwhelming. When Singh had kidnapped him and his siblings, alien invasions were nothing more than conspiracy theories. Now, confronted with the stark truth, he was reeling from the sheer enormity of it. Another shocking revelation was that he had hardly aged since then, a fact that added another layer of disbelief to his already tumultuous emotions.
'How long has it been?' he sighed. Decades must have passed. According to Lindon, the reason he went into hibernation for so long was because of the damage caused by separating his soul. The trauma had affected his body as well. To avoid Singh and conserve energy, Lindon had no choice but to shut down his body. This prolonged hibernation was necessary to heal and protect him from further harm.
Pushing all further thoughts to the back of his mind, he stood up and took a deep breath, surveying his surroundings one last time. 'It's about time I leave this place,' he thought to himself. Determined and resolute, he prepared to step into the unknown, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
