The Eight Empresses Betrayed Me, Only to Deeply Regret It After Being Reborn

Chapter 71:

Chapter 71: The Parasitic Celestial Demon:

On the first layer of the Ancient Battleground, Lu Ye stood drenched in blood—none of it his own. Around him lay mangled corpses, scattered and broken across the ground.

Gripping half of a corpse in his hand, he yanked it out from the swirling vortex. His blood-red eyes stared intently at the vortex. Was there someone behind it?

Lu Ye’s primary consciousness tensed slightly. Stepping through it wasn’t a big deal. After all, he would simply fight, kill, and continue killing. With every life he took, he absorbed their Nascent Souls, ensuring he never ran out of energy.

As he approached the vortex, the boundless thirst for slaughter driving his soul forward, his steps abruptly halted. His gaze shifted in another direction, the red glow in his eyes intensifying.

“BOOM!”

Lu Ye shot into the sky, hurtling toward the northwest. There, he sensed countless living beings—a teeming multitude.

At the exit of the Demon Realm vortex, Zhuque (Vermilion Bird) fully concealed her aura.

She employed a powerful secret technique that excelled in hiding her presence. Without it, she could never have survived under the watchful gaze of the Ten Thousand Spirits Demon Emperor, undetected despite her Vermilion Bird bloodline.

Her only hope was that Lu Ye wouldn’t notice her. If she remained unnoticed, she still had a chance to etch her name onto the Eternal Prodigy Ranking. If not, she could flee immediately—she was already at the exit.

Too terrifying!

Zhuque trembled inwardly.

One could doubt many things about Lu Ye, but never his strength. In his previous life, he had faced hardships; in this one, he was utterly invincible.

Even when others were at the same realm as him, they were no match for him. Even if he were a realm lower, no one could oppose him.

Suddenly, a young demon emerged from the vortex. It appeared to be no more than 15 or 20 years old, its strength merely at the Core Formation stage.

Zhuque blinked, puzzled.

What was such a young demon doing here in the Ancient Battleground?

The young demon paused upon seeing Zhuque and studied her carefully but found nothing unusual about her.

“Hey, what are you doing here? The Ancient Battleground is extremely dangerous right now. You should leave quickly!” Zhuque warned.

Her philosophy was simple: there were good and bad people, just as there were good and bad demons. Lu Ye, who had once masqueraded under the name of the Ten Thousand Spirits Demon Emperor to slaughter countless weak demons, was undoubtedly an evil one.

The young demon ignored her and instead let out a loud roar.

Zhuque panicked and rushed to cover its mouth. She had underestimated the existence of foolish and reckless demons. But just then, a second young demon emerged from the vortex.

Zhuque: ???

Then a third, a fourth, a fifth…

Young demons of all kinds, as if in the midst of a demonic tide, began streaming out of the vortex.

Zhuque: ???

“What are you doing? Who sent you here? Go back now! There’s a god of slaughter here—you’ll all die if you stay!”

But the demons kept coming, roaring loudly as they arrived. They seemed intent on drawing Lu Ye’s attention. Even juvenile beasts appeared among them.

Zhuque felt like she was going insane. She abandoned all attempts to conceal herself and unleashed her full demonic power, forming a shield to block the vortex.

What was going on? Why were they rushing here to die?

At the exact moment she released her power, every young demon turned to stare at her. Their eyes gleamed with a mixture of greed and malice.

Zhuque!

It was Zhuque!

“Stop coming in! Go back! If you enter, you’ll die!” she shouted desperately.

A wolf pup crept up behind her and suddenly bit her neck. But it was far too weak to pierce her defenses, even with the element of surprise.

Zhuque’s eyes widened in disbelief. This wolf pup was attacking her?

With a gentle shake, she sent the wolf flying.

Why? Why would they do this?

“Ding!”

A dagger stabbed into Zhuque’s body, its wielder attacking with all its might, trying to wound her.

More young demons swarmed her, using weapons, claws, and teeth.

“Pfft!”

Zhuque bled. A peculiar energy swiftly entered her body through the wound.

Letting out a piercing cry, she sent all the demons flying.

At the vortex, more young demons stood with malevolent expressions, their gazes chilling Zhuque to the core.

Undeterred by their inability to harm her, the demons resorted to humiliation. They spat at her, cursed her, and even threw filth at her.

Zhuque’s expression became numb.

These juvenile demons were far too malicious, their eyes filled with venom no young being should possess.

It was him.

It was the Ten Thousand Spirits Demon Emperor.

It was the Blood Demon Sutra of All Spirits.

Zhuque’s mind buzzed as the realization struck her.

Retracting her power, she watched as countless young demons, like mindless zombies, surged into the Ancient Battleground.

They no longer bothered to hide their true intentions. Their faces twisted with anticipation and malice.

Every single one of them was a fragment of the Ten Thousand Spirits Demon Emperor.

Lu Ye… Lu Ye had been telling the truth all along. In his previous life, he hadn’t deceived her.

Every demon he had slaughtered was part of the Ten Thousand Spirits Demon Emperor. Even the weakest of them, once parasitized, allowed the Demon Emperor to rise again.

He hadn’t lied to her.

But wasn’t the Demon Emperor’s cultivation method the Blood Demon Sutra of All Spirits?

That technique wasn’t supposed to have such terrifying abilities!

She had been wrong—completely wrong!

Staring at the twisted faces of the young demons, Zhuque’s tears began to fall like rain.

A small demon approached her, its domineering and malicious gaze sweeping over her.

“What technique did you cultivate to achieve this?” Zhuque shouted in despair.

“You seem to know quite a bit about me,” the Ten Thousand Spirits Demon Emperor replied.

“The Blood Demon Sutra of All Spirits doesn’t have such abilities! What technique are you actually using?”

The Demon Emperor paused, then laughed.

“Blood Demon Sutra of All Spirits? What a fine name. Hahaha! I didn’t even know my technique—True Law of the Parasitic Celestial Demon—had such an elegant alias. Hahaha!”

His laughter echoed ominously.

Zhuque froze.

True Law of the Parasitic Celestial Demon?

So he was the Parasitic Celestial Demon!

The Blood Demon Sutra of All Spirits was a lie—a scheme created to target her and Lu Ye.

The Parasitic Celestial Demon and the Ten Thousand Spirits Demon Emperor were one and the same.

He didn’t gain power by collecting the blood of all living beings; he parasitized their blood to make their essence fuel his cultivation.

At that moment, the sky turned blood red.

Lu Ye had arrived!
