The door creaked open to reveal Damon wearing a matching night wear similar to mine . He looked like he had already taken a bath from his room across mine.

I just stood at the foot of the bed looking at Damon as he approached me, but stopped some distance before reaching me.

Wife , l know you are tired let's get some sleep.

The way he called me increased the butterflies in my stomach. " Wife" ohhh

It was nice and strange to be called that but l had to get used to it.

Selene, are you okay you are just staring. He said.

A...am fine .

Let's sleep . Damon said .

His voice was so sweet.

But l was scared as l knew what the sleeping meant.

I climbed onto the bed and slept at the edge turning my back to him . I could hear my heart beats in my ears.

The other side of the bed dipped indicating that someone had laid on the bed but l didn't turn to look at him and pretended to be asleep.

Minutes passed and l could not sleep nor did Damon try to approach me.

Selene, my name came out.

I know you are not sleeping. Look at me . He said calmly but l could hear the command in it.

I breathed deeply to get courage to face him.

I slowly looked at him and met his green eyes that shown brightly in the dim room. I gulped as he looked at me . My husband was handsome and no one could deny it .

I wont touch you unless you are comfortable and have permitted me to do it . So you don't have to sleep on the bed as if you want to fall down.

Ohhh my ..... Did he realise that l was scared l thought but just nodded to his words.

I know this marriage was sudden but now there is nothing we can do.

I can give you more space and time if you want.

What happened to the rumored devil prince. Wasn't he supposed to be heartless and aggressive as the rumours said . I found my self captivated by his beauty and words .

My voice almost inaudible but l knew he heard me from the way he nodded at me .

Good night. Now you can sleep comfortably without falling. He teased me and the door closed with a bang .

Wow, this that just happen l was surprised.

I comfortably snuggled in my blanket and sleep took over me.

Damon entered the room and poured himself a glass of wine.

He has clearly seen how scared she was when he entered the room and how she turned her back to him .

He didn't want this marriage in the first place but his big brother King Derrick O'berian threatened him about taking away his dukedom if he didn't marry .

His brother has been pressurizing him to get married but he refused even his mother tried but still refused, but he loved his people that's why he could not leave his dukedom . Though he knew his brother couldn't take away his right but he did it for his poor mother.

So far , Selene seemed tolerable compared to the other noble ladies who feared him but also tried to test this patience.

He hoped she would adapt fast so he would get back to work. He knew his brother had spies in his estate so he had to pretend to be a loving husband so that his mother would not die of heart break .
