The Dreamer's POV

Chapter 274: Perfect Conditions For Destruction

I zoomed into the door and I assumed I was leaving the uncertain and self-destroying floor. I felt myself warped once I was in, and a vibrating weight was placed atop my being. It was strange, it was all strange, and it felt like I was more present in that space than I should have been. My vision was entirely white, there was nothing but the color everywhere.

After what seemed like an eternity, I was let out of the door. I stood and I found myself in what seemed to be the middle of a canyon, at the very bottom. Walls of rock rose at my sides, that I struggled to see above, and it was extremely dark in here.

"Where am I?" I questioned the dark terrain, wary of what would happen next.

It was almost as if the system awaited my question, as notifications poured into my mind with a foreign fervour.

[System Notification]

[You have unlocked a special event. You can not in any way refuse to take on this quest.]

"A special event."

[Some of your abilities are partly restricted to make things fair.]

[Special Event: Hellish Enclave starts now]

[No of participants: 1,023]

My eyes widened at that number, we were close to the tens when I first arrived, and now we were a measly thousand. What had happened to the rest? I knew the answer, it was plain obvious, and one would be a fool to think otherwise. They were dead, and I might be as well if I don't clear this special event.

This was strange however, usually, I would get the option to choose either Yes or No at a special event, but here, I was forced, my body translocated to a place I had no knowledge of.

Again, I asked the question, "Where am I?"

There was nothing but darkness and it had no answers.

Suddenly, I heard cracks, and they were spreading from the sounds of it. Soon enough, there was light. It leaked from the cracks, and with it, I was able to see some of the terrain.

I had tried to activate dragon eyes to see what was happening, but it didn't come on, it was like I didn't have the skill in my arsenal any longer, in that it was stolen from me.

'This must be what the system meant as making things fair.' I concluded. I tried jumping and then using <Grand Flight>, but soon enough, gravity pulled me back to the surface.

The black and hard ground beneath me cracked and then burst forth light. It shattered, letting bright violet stream forth from it.

I turned, squinting my eyes over the bright light. The light came like a waterfall that was turned upside down. It leaked and poured like a stream and in it came ugly beings that were such a contrast to the beauty of the light.

I heard their growling, the grumbling of their bellies and their snarls. They wanted me.

The rocks and the ground that had broken all levitated, it was like the streams of light undid gravity, and though I didn't levitate above, I still could steer my way around.

One tore out of the stream of color and began running at me, its ugly feet running across nothing. It carried with it a large spiked club.

The Demon Orcs are a new set of species. Their existence is frown upon by all and they are anomalies. There are two ways to make a demon orc. One is by the copulation of a demon and an orc, and the other and less grotesque one is by flooding the essence of an orc with demonic aura. This new existence surpasses its two parents, and boasts of new strength. They are wild and easily enraged

[End Of Information]

'At least Absolute Appraisal still works.'

Thousands of Demon Orcs were behind the streams, and thousands would come for me.

I called upon my Wyvern Blade and Draconic Dagger in my hands and called dark flames upon them.

"Come to your death, foul beasts." I roared. It was almost like I went berserk in that moment. I was naked, I was enraged and I was overflowing with power. These creatures, these unholy progenies would be the target of my burning rage.

As they came, I sent waves of dark flames their way and they burned. So many of them did, in the hundreds. The dark flames didn't give them time to wail, I doubt they felt pain as they were undone and reduced to nothing. And that was me being kind, I could have had them suffer.

Another wave spilled out from the streams and I noticed some glowing projectiles coming my way. I immediately activated Haven, and an orange energy shield came over me.

The colorful projectiles burst to bits upon hitting my Haven. The demon orcs had devised a way of using the abundant streams as weapons. They coated their clubs with the bright liquid and hurled it my way, and I must say, they packed quite the punch, but nothing posing a threat to me.

"Something is wrong, I can feel it. I need to go to Lyma city as soon as I can." I blurted in my bubble of energy.

"I would have to end this quickly."

I was close to continuing to burn these creatures with my dark flames when I remembered that I had gotten a new and powerful skill from finishing the first floor.

"Energy Manipulation." I muttered. The Emoni Gorilla, The Forger and especially Suphas had the ability and were immensely powerful with it.

The conditions were perfect. An innumerable number of enemies and the absence of innocent people and infrastructure so I need not worry about collateral damage.

I smirked, quite confident that the move wouldn't be locked. It was a silly intuition at the time, but I wasn't wrong.

I called out confidently, "Energy Manipulation."
