NOVEL NEXT Chapter 75: The stare of joy
The fights went on, a lot of drama, and some even presented an overwhelming power, but not for him.
As a giant ice wall emerged out of nowhere, scaring the crowd and even his class mates, Eth just smiled and decided to bring out some humor over Todoroki's name. "What? Are you compensating for something?" Eth just laughed at his own joke, for the confusion of his classmates who were still terrified. "Ey Come on guys, Wake up it ain't the end of the world, laugh a bit, show me joy!"
'Hey maybe a parody is truly what i have.' He thought to himself while the ice was being cleared off, he watched with anticipation, judging everyone's moves in the most comedic way possible, but not every match brought this out. As the match of Uraraka and Katsuki happened, he was on the edge of his seat, putting himself into her shoes. He jumped from his seat as she failed with her plan. "Are you serious?!" He yelled out as he stood on his feet, as he imitated her movement but with a few adjustments to make it right in his mind. "Dodge damn it, move quicker!" He continued yelling at the situation, she had so many chances to win and yet she failed in every single one of them, putting an end to the match. He fell back into his seat, "Ay, that sucked." Uraraka was unconscious.
After this nerve wreaking fight, he still felt energized, so with a slight hop he made his way towards the arena, as it was once again his turn to fight, he really hoped that after he won this he would be fighting against Bakugo since he was one of the little ones who don't hold back.
"You know him, OR DO YOU? He is Etheral from Class 1-A! And on the other side, Shoto Todoroki! also from Class 1-A!"
As the two were in place present mic counted slowly, "Well i believe you wanted for Midoriya to win? Too bad, i will be handing you this loss instead of him." Eth said, from the start he was betting that Midoriya would be capable of defeating Shoto, but that was out of the question for now.
"BEGIN!"
Etheral just stood there and smiled, his face semi-serious and his body jumping slightly, showing his anticipation and energy for this fight. Todoroki sent out another wave of ice, and Etheral wondered 'Can i redirect his attack with a bit of reality warping?' His shoulders bounced as he smiled mockingly before doing as he intended, causing the ice cover from the first half to be overlapped by the same attack. "Are you under the influence of alcohol?" Eth asked jokingly giggling like a child.
Todoroki exhaled some air and his face expression changed into a more serious one. He was confused as to how his attack was reflected and not only that, he was forced to dodge or he would be hit by his own attack. "Ey, Todo. Ice ain't making it, i saw how you unfroze Sero, What's that? House heating?" Eth asked once again in a mocking manner. "Give me a fight, man."
"no... I won't allow myself... to become the way he wants to." Todoroki murmured to himself trying to keep things out. "Who?" Eth asked as he suddenly appeared right before him. This was an opening and Todoroki took it, as he attempted to put his arm on Etheral's chest, Eth quickly pushed his arm away while dodging. "Next time say no homo." Eth said jokingly before laughing to himself once again, and returning an attack, being a throw of a little bit of fire salt in a dust form. Which exploded quickly while sending Etheral slightly back.
"New ability is on the list people, Damn this guy's is a whole mesh of mysteries." Present mic commented. Eth's attack was successful as Todoroki was on the edge of losing, only a ice wall was stopping him, he was leaning which meant... "YOU FAILED!" Eth said loudly before causing Todoroki to phase through his own way of keeping the match on track.
But no one seemed to tell that he is victorious, he gave the judge a blank judge. "Check him, I won."
"Not until someone is out of the ring." Eth just looked at him, before snapping his fingers, the ice brock suddenly jumped up onto Todoroki who was trying to melt it away "Wait, Physics left the building." Etheral replied, before getting to the ice block and kicking it off of Todoroki.
"BOOM, I won!" Eth said with his arms going up, moving quickly just like an explosion. "Oh wait, not really." Eth leaned forward and saw that there is a little gap between Todoroki's head and the boundary. "So listen. I will give you another chance, I did like to see you try and surpass me. Give everything that your power has to offer, unless you want to be pushed straight out of the ring, it's either shame or acceptance. Endeavor is the person you are talking about, i saw him behind the scenes, you see..." With those words spoken, Todoroki's secret was revealed, daddy issues. "Stand up and fight, or die without hope of achieving more." Eth said walking away towards his side of the arena. Todoroki with a serious look and gritted teeth unleashed his other side, flame taking half his body. "Thanks for listening, i was getting kinda bored." Eth said Yawning slightly and gesturing his boredom, before appearing next to the flames with a metal cup in hand and in it, lucky o' milk of the rarest kind. "Guess it's my lucky day." Eth said giving a happy grin and shacking his head up and down slightly. Todoroki made an attempt to attack Eth, but it failed as Etheral dodged and dodged his attack while keeping the cup in the fire. "Thanks" Eth said pulling away from the heat and drinking the contents of the cup, it tasted nice. "Agh, good shit. Wowy... Anyways, continue, i will stop messing with you." Eth said before vanishing for a moment, giving Todoroki a tap on the shoulder. Shoto turned and made an ice pillar which hit absolutely no one, as he was knocked down by a swift kick on the legs. "I ain't the type to beat a person while they are down, So get up."
Todoroki make another attempt to immobilize Eth, but it was a failure, after a failure. There wasn't catching this. "I think i made too much mockery of you."
"HEY STOP BULLYING HIM!" The crowd yelled. Eth just turned to his back with a pout, before gesturing them with his hand, Whatever. "Nah." Eth said before turning back, but before he knew it, Todoroki has taken his chance to immobilize him with a single grab on the wrist. Only head was outside the ice. "Good job."
"Etheral is immobilized!" Midnight said announcing Todoroki's victory. "Nah, i did win." Eth said before the ice suddenly exploded off of Etheral, who had his organisuit on, but only the arms Before counter grabbing Todoroki's arm. In response Shoto released a burst of flames around his body, forcing Etheral to jump backwards to avoid any damages. "Wait not yet." Midnight corrected herself as the fight went on. Shoto shoot out a wave of ice before topping it off with some fire, which caused a large explosion. This move allowed Todoroki to see where he needed to improve, it was eye opening, one was getting enlightened while the other was just enjoying the fullest power of his foe. As Etheral began to get more into his own tricks, he decided to put an end to it, as much as he liked it. "Good, you fight fully now..."
Eth said before the suit covered his entire body before he jumped forward with an explosion before Todoroki shoot out another wave of ice followed by fire, which was countered by a larger explosion from a large firesalt crystal. The impact was immense sending a large air wave away from the arena. The referee was quick to react attempting to stop the attack from happening, but the defense was useless as the impact was done, debris and dust were sent outwards. As Eth was the one standing since the armor absorbed most of the kinetic energy and allowed him to stay on foot. "Todoroki is out of bounds, Etheral is victorious." Midnight announced
