Chapter 7: What is the meaning of life?
As he wandered through the cavers and cave systems from which the level consists. He felt lost within himself, a battle between him and the other entities seemed weird to him and unreasonable. Though the thrill was nice, after it has done it's job he felt empty like most of the times.
Being devoid of something, he himself was unsure was just... Annoying... Confusing... Sad...
His steps echoed through the silence. But no other creature dared to approach him, not because of intimidation. He was now... Something else...
Time passed by in a flash while he was thinking, A moment for him. But for the outside world a few hours.
He didn't know what his purpose was, or why he exists in the first place. He looked around before randomly falling through the floor.
The instant change of surrounding was still confusing to him, even if he remembered that he was a part of the backrooms. As he fell on his back, he looked up and was able to see in his peripheral vision. He sat up slowly as he looked around into another unknown environment, yet something calming, something familiar, worth the nostalgia.
He had a strange look on his face... As he looked around he saw a new entity. It was an eye ball with its red part expanding into what seemed like a failed attempt to create a limb, but it seemed to be moving fine. As it spotted him it did nothing and simply walked away as it watched over the streets of Level 9
Until another wanderer spawned behind him. The person tripped on him, since he hasn't moved yet and the creature rushed toward the person, but then the kid gave a sign for the watcher to stop. And just like that it listened. This gave him an idea for a title for himself, something to name himself with.
The wanderer was shocked at the sight as she quickly stood up and stared at it right in the eye.
After a few seconds the girl began walking backwards slowly, but by now the child has let his hand rest onto his knee. Even if the watcher saw that, it didn't do anything more, but stare at her and occasionally looking at him.
Was he showing off? Should he let the tides of life drown her? He wasn't sure, because he used his power over all entities to stop her from getting torn to shreds... It felt somewhat strange to him. To save a person from death... Something inside of him was telling him to not bother stopping the flow. But another part of him was saying to let her live. He wasn't sure on what to do so he decided to give her the chance to live, at least on this level or for a few hours, minutes.
"Run..." He said with a smile as he gave her the permission to live for an hour. His smile was creepy, as if he knew that she would die the moment his order runs out. The girl began running, as he gave her the advantage, not even letting her know about it. But now it wasn't his problem, He simply stopped the flow, but it would all come down crashing as intended from the very start.
As she ran behind the corner of one of the houses, he gave a signal to the creature before him, that it's free to go. Or just shu shu.
At that command the neighborhood watcher was dispatched as it continued on with the rout it was going to take if that girl didn't appear. As he saw it leaving, he stood up and stretched before wandering off in a random direction.
His mind was now flooding with questions as his inner self began fighting the depressing feeling of emptiness.
Arguments with in clashed. Over what is the meaning of all, Why does he exist, What... is his MEANING?
He was interested in the thought process beneath his skull. Something, fighting over to keep him down and depressed, and another which fights for his peace, happiness...
Perhaps a split personality, he thought to himself at first, but it wasn't that. It was him who protected both, he wasn't fighting anything, but himself over what to do. After a while of walking through the safety of his own home and arguing over what he should do, he remembered the motion which was the life in the frontrooms. The last time, he was proven that there is something interesting, a battle.
After the argument was finished, he came to the conclusion to find something to strive for. Happiness... The formless wish.
As he cheered himself up, he wondered what did he now want... Yes, Finding Happiness, but through what means.
Chaos... Action...
