Chapter 380: Chapter 378: Dream of Being a Mother
A while later, she looked up, her golden hair clinging to her flushed face, her lips pursed as she wore a rather peculiar expression.
"What an awful taste! I can't believe you made the Honorable God's Tongue taste that again!"
Erina frowned slightly, her golden locks playfully framing her cheeks, while an odd expression appeared on her otherwise angelic face.
With a pained look, she opened her small mouth and spat out the contents. Embarrassment and anger flared in her eyes as she punched Sui lightly with her fist, exclaiming, "How shameless! You actually made the God's Tongue experience such an awful taste again!"
As the bearer of the prestigious God's Tongue, the daughter of the illustrious Nakiri family, and the Queen of Totsuki, Erina had been accustomed to the finest of cuisines since childhood. Renowned chefs from across the world sought to have their dishes graced by her refined palate, eager for her discerning judgment—even their failures were delicacies to ordinary people.
Yet, this insufferable man dared to subject her sacred tongue to something so terrible! It was infuriating.
After their shared bath, the unpleasant taste still lingered on her tongue, leaving her uncomfortable. Sensing her distress, Sui quickly poured her a glass of juice.
Erina took a sip of the sweet, refreshing drink and felt a wave of relief wash over her.
"Erina, how are you feeling now?" Sui asked, a note of concern in his voice.
Hearing his worried tone, Erina's earlier anger melted away. She gave him a light punch with her soft pink fist, her eyes casting a gentle, reproachful glance in his direction. "Yes, I'm fine now," she muttered, "but this is really the last time! You promised!"
Sui nodded, though he couldn't help but chuckle inwardly. She had said the same thing last time, after all.
Remembering they hadn't had dinner yet, Sui stood up and said, "I'll make us something to eat. Just wait here."
Erina nodded, her demeanor softening.
In the kitchen, Sui began preparing dinner. This time, he was using the egg Blissey gave him, eager to compare the taste of an evolved Chansey egg to its predecessor.
For dinner, he prepared a nutritious, natural egg-based meal: a hot and fragrant shrimp omelet, tangy tomato egg soup, tender scrambled eggs with beef, and a light glass of fruit sake with a very low alcohol content.
After a day filled with activity, Erina was already feeling hungry. The rich aroma of the meal wafted through the air, enticing her. She couldn't wait to indulge.
The omelet was silky and savory, the shrimp inside tender and flavorful. The scrambled eggs with beef were equally delicious—the beef tender, and the eggs meltingly smooth. Paired with the warm, sour tomato soup, the meal was perfection.
At first, Erina tried to maintain her usual dining etiquette, delicately tasting the dishes with small bites. But as she ate, she forgot about appearances altogether. Her cheeks puffed out with each bite, her cherry lips gleaming with a faint sheen of oil, making her look irresistibly adorable.
Of course, in her mind, there were no outsiders present, so she didn't mind her casual demeanor.
Sui watched her eat, his thoughts wandering to their earlier moments together, when she had blushed and shyly reached out to touch him with her awkward yet gentle movements.
Catching him staring, Erina's cheeks flushed. "Why are you looking at me like that?" she asked softly.
Sui cleared his throat, quickly averting his gaze. "Ahem, nothing."
Erina, still feeling self-conscious, quickly changed the subject. "This egg is really amazing! It's so fresh and tender—better than anything we've had before. And… it makes me feel so happy!"
She smiled as the exquisite taste on her tongue washed away the memory of that earlier unpleasantness, filling her with contentment.
Sui nodded in agreement. Blisseys Egg not only tasted better than regular eggs, but they had an unusual quality—a mysterious ability to lift one's spirits and melt away any fatigue or worries. The more one ate, the happier they became.
Erina, now feeling completely at ease, began humming softly to herself—a rare occurrence, usually reserved for moments of pure relaxation, like during a hot bath.
Her mind wandered, and she found herself imagining a scene many years into the future.
She saw herself as a woman who had matured beautifully over time. Her figure had become fuller, and her golden hair cascaded gracefully down her back. The youthful awkwardness of her school days had been replaced by a more refined, elegant beauty.
In this vision, she had given up her career to focus on family life. She wore simple, comfortable clothes while she went about her day, tidying up their sunlit living room, the sunlight spilling through the large windows onto the polished floors.
"Mom!"
A sweet, childlike voice called out. A small girl with golden hair and fair skin, dressed in a princess gown, came running toward her, holding a bottle in her tiny hands.
The little girl couldn't have been more than two years old, with a round, cherubic face that looked almost exactly like Erina's when she was a child.
"Come here, my baby girl," Erina said, picking the child up with a tender smile.
Just then, a group of slightly older children came running in from the garden, their voices calling out, "Mom!" as they ran to her, their clothes covered in dirt.
Erina gently scolded them, "Where have you been? Look at you, you're all dirty," but her eyes sparkled with happiness.
…
As she envisioned this future, Erina's lips curved into a soft, dreamy smile. The thought of such a life—a life filled with the love and warmth she had missed in her own childhood—left her longing.
"Erina, would you like some more fruit sake?" Sui's voice interrupted her reverie.
"Hm? Oh! Let me pour it for you," she said, her voice unusually tender as she snapped back to reality and got up to pour him another glass of fruit sake.
Sui, noticing the sudden change in her demeanor, tilted his head in confusion. "Erina… is everything alright? You seem… different."
Seeing her suddenly in such a gentle, wife-like mode, he couldn't help but wonder if Blisseys had somehow unlocked a hidden side of the usually tsundere Erina.
