The Distant Remnant Mirror (RWBY X LIMBUS COMPANY)

Chapter 19: Chapter 8:The Slayer vs The Duelist

Dante stood near the edge of Beacon Academy's sparring arena, his pad glowing faintly in his hand. His clock-like head ticked softly as he looked over the two teams standing before him. The students waited in silence, their anticipation heavy in the air. Even Glynda and Ozpin stood a little straighter, their interest piqued.

Dante said, breaking the silence.

He tapped the screen of his pad, chains rattling softly as the identities of the students glimmered to life on the interface.

Ruby leaned closer to Weiss, her silver eyes sparkling with excitement. "I can't wait to see which one of us gets picked! This is going to be awesome!"

"Calm down, Ruby," Weiss replied "It's not a matter of excitement; it's a test of skill and strategy."

Yang smirked, leaning against the wall. "Whoever it is, I hope they put on a good show. Gotta make this worth watching."

Blake glance at everyone, her expression unreadable. "This will be interesting."

Dante looked up from his pad, his clock voice cutting through the quiet.

Weiss arched an eyebrow, crossing her arms. "I won't dissapoint you Dante"

Ren simply nodded, his calm demeanor unwavering. "Understood."

Dante stepped forward, holding up two cards that shimmered with a golden glow. On one, Weiss's was adorned with the refined attire of her Cinq Association identity—a white cavalier hat, feathered cape, and rapier gleaming in hand. On the other, Ren's Blade Lineage identity emanated a faint aura of discipline and deadly precision, his sword poised for battle.

He Insert the card to his pad, and light began to wrap around Weiss and Ren. The two students didn't flinch as the light enveloped them, their forms briefly obscured by shimmering light.

When the light faded, Weiss stood in her full Cinq Association attire—a white cravat, feathered cape, and elegant rapier that gleamed with refined purpose. Her calm yet regal demeanor matched her appearance perfectly.

Ren, meanwhile, emerged in his Blade Lineage guise. His black uniform hugged his frame with precision, his blade resting lightly in his sheath. The sharpness in his eyes conveyed a deadly focus, like a slayer ready to slaughter everyone in sight.

The two stepped into the arena, their new forms radiating authority and purpose.

Dante stepped back, watching the scene unfold with a faint air of amusement.

The spectator watch with anticipation as the lights of Beacon Academy's sparring arena dimmed, casting long shadows over the polished floor. In the center of the ring stood Lie Ren, his calm demeanor a sharp contrast to the electrified atmosphere. His Blade Lineage identity was evident in his sharp stance.

Opposite him was Weiss Schnee, her Cinq Association identity in full effect. Her regal posture and sharp, calculating eyes radiated confidence. The feather-lined white cape and white cavalier hat she wore gave her the air of a duelist from a bygone era, her rapier gleaming under the arena lights.

The tension between them was palpable. Ren's blade rested lightly in his hand, its edge glinting with deadly intent, while Weiss held her rapier poised, its point aimed directly at her opponent.

Dante voice echoed through the arena, cutting through the noise.

Ren's body shifted into a low, predatory stance, his blade steady and silent. Weiss, ever the strategist, took a single step forward, testing the ground with the tip of her rapier.

The air between them was still for a fraction of a second before Ren struck like a coiled spring. His blade slashed through the air in a calculated arc, seeking to draw first blood. Weiss sidestepped with fluid grace, her rapier flicking upward to parry.

The clash of steel echoed through the arena as sparks flew.

'Fast' Weiss muttered under her breath, stepping back to reassess her position.

Ren didn't waste a second, pressing forward with a flurry of precise strikes. His movements were almost inhumanly smooth, his blade an extension of his will. Each attack seemed to flow into the next, a dance of relentless pressure.

Weiss deflected each blow with practiced precision, her rapier moving like a needle threading through his onslaught. "Impressive" she remarked, a faint smile tugging at her lips. "But you'll need more than speed to win."

Ren's response was a faint narrowing of his eyes. He feinted left, drawing Weiss's guard before pivoting into a quick thrust aimed at her side. Weiss twirled away, her cape fluttering as she regained her footing.

---

From the sidelines, Ruby leaned forward, her silver eyes wide with excitement. "Wow! Ren's so fast! I can barely keep up!"

"Don't sell Weiss short," Yang said, her golden eyes flicking between the fighters. "She's not just fast; she's precise. Watch her counters."

Pyrrha crossed her arms, her expression thoughtful. "Ren's approach is methodical, but Weiss is waiting for him to make a mistake. This is a battle of endurance and tactics."

Jaune, meanwhile, had his hands clasped together as if in prayer. "C'mon, Ren… you've got this… right?"

---

Back in the ring, Weiss shifted gears, her rapier dancing through the air with elegant precision. She wasn't simply defending anymore; she was testing Ren's reflexes, probing for weaknesses.

Her blade grazed Ren's shoulder, drawing first blood. Aura appeared on his body blocking the attack.

"Got you," Weiss said, her tone calm but victorious.

Ren didn't flinch, his expression unreadable. Instead, he adjusted his grip and exhaled slowly, his blade glowing faintly with poise energy.

Weiss's eyes narrowed. "So you're finally taking this seriously."

Ren nodded slightly, his voice steady. "I've learned not to underestimate you."

The two fighters squared off again, their weapons gleaming under the arena lights.

Weiss narrowed her eyes as Ren shifted his stance. There was a subtle change in the air around him. Hiss movements became sharper, his presence more imposing. Weiss could sense it too, Waiting for the attack.

On the sidelines, Nora leaned closer to Jaune. "Did you see that? Renny different now. He's… scarier."

Jaune folded his arms, his expression serious. "Yeah, he's not holding back anymore."

Back in the ring, Ren's blade glowed faintly as his poise reached its peak. He moved with deliberate intent, his steps steady and unyielding. Weiss adjusted her grip on her rapier, the intricate embroidery of her Cinq Association uniform shimmering under the arena lights.

Ren lunged, his blade slicing through the air in a sweeping arc. Weiss deflected it, but the force behind the strike pushed her back several steps.

"Not bad," Weiss said, her voice tinged with both respect and determination. "But you'll need more skill to win."

Ren didn't respond. Instead, he advanced again, his blade moving in precise, calculated patterns. Suddenly, he shifted his grip, his weapon glowing with an ominous aura.

"To claim their bones" Ren muttered, his voice barely above a whisper.

Weiss's eyes widened as she recognized the shift in his attack. The skill Ren unleashed wasn't just an assault—it was an execution. His blade blurred as it carved through the air, aiming directly for her midsection.

Weiss braced herself, her mind racing. She sidestepped the initial strike, but Ren's follow-up came faster than she anticipated. His blade grazed her side, cutting through the fabric of her uniform and making Weiss aura drop to yellow.

Weiss gritted her teeth, her eyes focusing on Ren. "You're not the only one with tricks Ren" she muttered.

As Ren went for another strike, Weiss spun on her heel, her rapier flashing in a defensive arc. She redirected his blade just enough to avoid a critical hit, using the momentum to leap back and create distance between them.

Her heart pounded in her chest as she steadied her breathing. The intensity of the fight keeping everyone on the edge of their seats.

Ruby gasped. "Weiss got hit! Is she okay?"

"She'll be fine," Yang said, her eyes fixed on the fight. "Look—she's already adjusting."

Jaune let out a breath he didn't realize he was holding. "Man, I thought that was it for her."

Pyrrha smiled faintly. "Weiss is resourceful. She'll use this to her advantage."

---

Back in the Ring

Weiss Regain her breath, her hand swiping away the sweat. She smirked, her icy gaze locking onto Ren. "You're good, I'll give you that. But this match is far from over."

Ren nodded, his expression calm but focused. "Show me, then."

The two fighters squared off again, the tension between them crackling like a live wire. Ren's precise, relentless offense met Weiss's elegant, calculated counters, each move pushing the other closer to their limits.

Ren's blade gleamed under the bright arena lights as he advanced again, his movements as fluid and relentless as a river carving through stone. His poise was unwavering, his strikes precise. Weiss held her ground, her rapier steady in her grip, her piercing gaze locked onto her opponent.

She wasn't just observing his attacks, she was calculating. Waiting for the exact moment to strike.

"Ren's pressing hard," Yang said, her golden eyes narrowing. "If Weiss doesn't make a move soon, she's going to get overwhelmed."

Ruby clasped her hands together nervously. "Come on, Weiss. You've got this…"

Blake's amber eyes flicked between the two fighters. "She's not just holding out. She's studying him. Watch her movements."

Pyrrha smiled faintly, her arms crossed. "She's waiting for the perfect moment to counter. It's a risky strategy, but if anyone can pull it off, it's Weiss."

---

Ren's next strike came with the precision of a master swordsman, his blade arcing toward Weiss's shoulder. The air seemed to ripple with the sheer force of his attack. But this time, Weiss didn't evade.

Instead, she met his blade head-on.

Clang!

The sound of metal colliding echoed through the arena as Weiss parried the blow with practiced ease. Sparks flew as their weapons clashed, her rapier twisting deftly to redirect Ren's momentum.

Ren's balance faltered ever so slightly, and in that split second, Weiss saw her opening.

"Salut" Weiss whispered, her voice as sharp as her blade.

In one fluid motion, Weiss shifted her weight and swept her rapier upward, slicing through Ren's defense. The edge of her blade cut cleanly across his side, drawing a line of red aura as Ren staggered back. Before he could recover, Weiss lunged forward, her rapier piercing through his shoulder with deadly precision.

Ren's weapon clattered to the ground as he dropped to one knee, his breathing ragged. His aura down to red.

Ruby jumped up, her silver eyes wide with amazement. "Weiss Won! She actually did it!"

Yang smirked, folding her arms. "That's my girl. Always pulling through when it counts."

Blake exhaled quietly, her expression softening. "She read his movements perfectly."

Jaune winced. "I hope Ren's okay. That looked like it hurt."

"He'll be fine," Pyrrha reassured, though her tone carried a hint of concern. "Weiss is skilled, but she knows how to hold back enough to avoid serious injury."

---

Back in the Ring

Weiss withdrew her blade and stepped back, her breathing heavy but controlled. She held her rapier at her side, its tip dripping with crimson, and regarded Ren with a mix of respect and triumph.

Ren looked up at her, his expression calm despite his injuries. "You're… formidable," he said, his voice steady but faint.

"And you're relentless," Weiss replied, offering him a small smile. "A lesser opponent wouldn't have pushed me this far."

Dante stepped forward, her voice cutting through the noise.

Weiss turned and raised her rapier in acknowledgment, her white cape fluttering behind her. The cheers of the spectator filled the arena as she made her way back to her team, her posture regal despite her exhaustion.

Ren remained kneeling for a moment, collecting himself before standing with quiet dignity. He retrieved his weapon and walked toward his team, his head held high.

On the Sidelines

Ruby rushed to Weiss, her excitement bubbling over. "Weiss, that was amazing! You were like, whoosh, and Ren was like, ahh, and then you—"

"Yes, Ruby, I was there," Weiss interrupted, though the faintest hint of a smile tugged at her lips.

Nora helped Ren back to his seat, his voice full of concern. "Are you okay, Renny ? That was intense."

Ren nodded, wincing slightly. "I'm fine. Weiss earned her victory."

Pyrrha placed a hand on Ren's shoulder, her voice warm. "You fought well, Ren. You pushed her to her limits."

Jaune grinned, leaning against the railing. "Guess we know who's the top duelist now."

Blake glanced at Weiss, her tone thoughtful. "She earned it. But Ren's composure was impressive."

Dante stood off to the side, observing the scene with his hands in his pockets. The soft ticking of his clock head echoed faintly as he spoke to himself.

The match had ended, but the lessons learned would carry far beyond the arena.

A/N:Happy New Year ! Man 2024 pass very quickly. I hope everyone like the fighting scene, I decided that Weiss will win because of experience and skill of a cinq director. Despite both of the being strong I think Cinq director has more damage than blade lineage salsu. Of course if cinq director fight Blade lineage mentor than it's an automatic win to blade lineage. Okay enough
