The Devil's Sweetheart

Leena stood there dumbfounded after getting played by him again. She pushed him away with a little more force, and she did it successfully this time around. Devin also released his tight grip on her.

What's wrong with this idiot? Why was he speaking sweet things into her ear earlier? Shameless man. He has almost touched my ear with his tongue and strangely she was still feeling his wetness.

"What happened to your ears?" Giving her space, Devin stood a little far away from her.

"Wh_at?" Unconsciously Leena touched her ears which were smoldering hot. Her cheeks burned up and looked away trying to avoid any eye contact with him.

"They are red." Devin bit his lower lip to curb his laughter which was dangerously emerging out. This heartless woman is also capable of blushing? He was thinking ways to thwart her anger but here they are. She has turned into a blushing apple and he is back again with teasing. What Devin never expected was, they would have an indirect kiss. He was in cloud nine but enclosed his happiness.

"Are you unwell?" He asked again when he didn't receive any response.

"I am fine. I just got my ear pierced in the morning to wear jewelry for Leah's marriage. So, obviously, they will turn red right?" Leena immediately came up with an excuse to cover her embarrassment. She glanced at his eyes which were now twinkling at her with mischief. There he goes. He is deliberately doing and started his monkey tricks again.

Devin chuckled at her alibi. What a creative excuse darling. Let's see how long you will keep up with your act. But he was happy that she is slowly opening up to him. Making her comfortable around him when she doesn't stand the existence of a man was the biggest step in their relationship. He doesn't know why she creates a distance around them but he made a vow to earn her trust and bring her to open up for him. Devin only hoped everything would go well until the wedding because he could feel some uneasiness was surrounding them.

"No one can beat your stupid creativity." He stirred up her hair lovingly.

"Thank you, Mr. Adonis. Get a charger. I will pass some to you." Saying they Leena fled away leaving him dumbfounded.

Shaking his head, Devin smiled. He already got used to her crazy behavior. When he was about to follow her into the house to get fresh, Leena appeared in front of him again.

Her earlier sparkling face was filled with a grimace and this time she was inspecting him from top to bottom which was pulling him into utter awkwardness. Why is she looking like that? Is something wrong or did she see something down there which she shouldn't?

"Why are you examining me like a fine-tooth comb? Is something wrong with me?" He asked with hesitation. Not that he minded if she sees but his sweetheart is throwing bomb after bomb today which is getting hard for him to digest everything at a time.

"Don't you have any shame?" Leena asked in a deadpanned voice without realizing there were hundreds of thoughts running over Devin's head with just one statement of her.

"Huh?"Unconsciously, Devin looked down and when he felt there is nothing to be afraid of, he sighed. I really thought she has seen something which she shouldn't. It's still not the time for it.

"What is this so-called almost non-visible outfit you are wearing?" She asked taking his outfit into consideration. She glanced at her surroundings and there were some women ogling at him as if he is their possession. Except for his shoes, Leena did not like his outfit which was barely covering his body.

"I_I am playing basketball. So, I have to wear a comfortable outfit right?" Devin carefully answered her question. He was stuttering in front of her which never happened.

"Wow! What an excuse chance to show off your naked body." She gave off a scoffing laugh at him.

"I am not naked!" Devin shrieked short. Which part of my body she is considering naked? I am only wearing shorts and it's just disclosing the legs.

"I can see your shoulders, legs, and little big of your thighs also. Isn't it considered naked? Showing off seems a highly valuable and necessary activity for you." Leena implored.

"Right now, I don't have any comfortable outfit other than this. But I am open to your recommendations darling." With gritted teeth, Devin replied with still holding a smile that was bursting inside.

"I guess suit would go better. Why don't you wear that and play? By the way, did you forget our house rules Mr. Adonis? You are supposed to wear pants in front of me." Shaking her head, she looked at him scornfully.

"Should I play a basketball game wearing a full suit? I would be laughed at by everyone." What's wrong with this idiot suddenly? She has turned into a scary wife trying to interrogate her cheating husband. Their conversation literally would have made others have that idea.

"But is there a need to expose your body to get labeled beautiful? Look at my decent outfit and try to learn from me." Devin opened his mouth to counteract, but he could utter nothing as if his tongue was cut off by a sword.

"Is she jealous that someone is seeing me or envious that I look good?" Devin asked himself. He wanted to ask and confirm but then again he knew she would not tell the truth. She would use the situation according to her advantage. He has to carefully deal with her now.

"Alright, darling. I have learned my lesson. I will seriously consider your opinion and wear a suit when I am playing next time." Devin declared. He prepared a note to wear full clothes even while sleeping. He was scared this brat would come and lecture him even at the time of sleeping. She is the only girl he has ever seen who would compete with men over beauty. How should I handle this narcissistic brat in the future?

Everything is getting fired on him when he opened his mouth. Devin only wished someone would come and save him from the situation and his saving grace arrived right at this moment when he felt a light tap on his shoulder.

"Are you both pulling out some adulterous movie here?" Austin whispered into Devin's ear. He had seen how Devin was flirting with her when he was grieving his basketball match loss with Trent. Even though Trent was listening, Austin still could see Trent's burning jealousy when Devin and Leena were acting lovely Dovey. He had not expected he would like her and hastily felt bad for raising his hopes on this monster.

"Leave all that. Currently, I am in a deadlock situation. If you pull me out of this, I will sponsor your one month Bora Bora honeymoon for free." Devin whispered back.

Austin wide opened his eyes and gave a double thumbs up. Even when he failed in the game, luck still seems to be on his side. He is getting a free villa under Wang properties and now a free honeymoon to his favorite spot. This monster has started eating his friend's bank balance even before they have started their relationship.

"You still have time to consider Vincy. You will surely go bankrupt feeding this glutton and paying for her infinite dresses." Austin talked lowly in a murmur.

"What are you whispering into his ear since you were here," Leena asked with a frown.

"Nothing." Turning to Devin's side Austin stated to distract her. "You are still the same in basketball Vinci. I could only pull out one basket."

"Hey, useless fellow. It was still a betrayal shot." Leena joined their conversation.

Devin released a deep sigh. Finally, she has set me free and it's time for Austin.

"At least it's better than your ridiculous photography skills." Austin grinned hitting her sour spot.

Devin looked at her abruptly when he caught something. Does my sweetheart like photography? I should ask her about it when they get into the room.

"Don't bring my photography into this." Gritting her teeth Leena added. "Stop by my room. I have a surprise gift."

"I am a family man." Austin hugged his chest in a protective manner.

"Even if you are put on auction in White House, no one would dare to spend a dollar to buy you." Leena scoffed at him.

Austin was about to hit her head when Devin evaded his arm even before he could touch her.

"Don't you want your hand till the wedding to put a ring on Leah?" Devin threatened him.

"Bro, she is crushing my ego." He whispered back.

"I don't care about your ego. Stop bullying my_"

Before he could finish his statement, he felt a shot pat on his shoulder. Turning back, he scowled looking at the sudden intrusion of some unwanted nuisance.

"I never knew you were good at basketball. Not bad. I guess you played ok." Austin smiled and winked at Leena deliberately to provoke someone.

Shortly after his statement, there was a burst of laughter. All three looked at the woman who was holding her stomach trying to control her giggles.

"If his performance is mediocre, then what should I call yours? He made mincemeat of you single-handedly." Devin blushed at her protective nature. Winning the game was after all not a bad idea.

While Devin was grinning like a lovesick puppy, there was someone fuming in anger. Losing in the game was a pure humiliation to him in front of Leena.

Devin signaled Austin to take her away when he knew it's not good to keep her in front of Trent for a longer time.

Even though Leena was throwing tantrums, Austin force dragged her into the house.

"What do you want?" After Leena was not in his sight he turned to him. His earlier smiling face was now replaced with a cold and mysterious aura.

"It seems she doesn't know your name. Looks like you are deliberately hiding your identity, Mr. Wang? " Trent knew from the beginning something was wrong with them and when Leena screamed his name while playing the basketball, he understood. Devin is keeping secrets about his identity. It was a wonder that Leena has not seen him anywhere with his popularity.

"Even you are not the same as the media portrayed. What are you hiding?"

"Did you made a background check on me?" He warily asked.

"Why? Are you hiding something?" Devin chuckled watching his alarmed expression.

"Don't provoke my bottom line," Devin warned and walked away into the house.

Trent scornfully gazed at his back.. He watched many fuming in anger when Leena and Devin were together earlier and his eyes caught one particular person already.
