The Devil's Sweetheart

A few hours before.

Devin marched into the office, his rough and powerful footsteps echoed sharply down the hallway. Those deep hazel eyes that always reflected a light brown with a hint of green colour have changed into dark mysterious ocellus that could freeze the bones of any species that trifled with him today.[1]

His anger flared up again when his thoughts flew back to their airport encounter. How can she turn a blind eye to the concern and worry he was pouring on her. Devin felt like his world has collapsed into a speck seeing her pale, distressed look, but that heartless woman had blatantly used that as a weakness and escaped from his clutches. Didn't she feel the pain in his eyes that was crushing him down when she was in no state to speak? In his anger, he has even turned the crowded pharmacy into a mess looking for the medicine by himself.

Even though Devin was raging at his little kit earlier for lying to him on the most triggering topic of her health, he felt relieved afterwards that she was not ill anymore but looking fit and healthy. Still, with a frustrated mood, he was about to leave the airport, when he heard a familiar voice calling him. Looking up, he saw his little kit calling him over and over again waving at him until his attention was on her. She smiled and winked at him of her victory and when she did not get satisfied with it, she threw a flying kiss at him adding fuel to the fire. He clenched his fists not show his anger in the company, but it was replaying like an echo taunting him further.

When the employees were informed that their CEO would be visiting the Seattle office after a long time, everyone gathered in the hallway to show their respect to him. The female employees dolled up to at least get a little attention from him and the newbies were peeking at the entrance holding their breaths to have a glimpse of the hotty.

"Good afternoon Mr. Wang." The young managing director Blake Ardley walked into the hall to escort their CEO when he was informed by one of his subordinates that he had already arrived. Although everyone was eagerly anticipating his presence today, they did not expect him to visit announced by an hour earlier making the employees squeal in delight, especially women.

"Blake." Devin declared with a voice like a raging volcano. "Convene the meet in an hour." He stated and walked ahead to his private elevator. But most of the employees did not miss his murderous aura when they looked into his piercing eyes. They have always seen their CEO calm and composed. Now that they looked into his bloodshot eyes, all of them wondered who dared to enrage the mighty Wang Devin.

"Noted sir." Blake nodded and escorted him without probing anything. He has been managing the Seattle office for five years and quite close to Devin. But he had never seen his fury like the way he was seeing today. Is it because of her? There were many rumours circulating in the office without knowing him. He did not want to pry further and went out to arrange the meeting.

Design department unit of WD.

"Sir has visited Seattle after a long time." A woman squealed in excitement.

"But he is in the worst mood today. I will ask Blake to prepare his favourite Americano coffee." A young man spoke out. He was the key fashion designer of the WD.

"What are you dilly-dallying here. Prepare the drafted designs. We have a meeting in an hour." One of the senior key designers of WD voiced out. She was already in frustration with the sudden meeting that Blake has informed. Being new to WD, she wants to give the best of her in the meeting in front of their CEO.

"But We haven't fully completed the design for our next collections. I am afraid he would flare up."

"Why are you worrying. Our goddess will be here." a woman said.

Their commotion stopped when a tall woman stepped into the room, her six-inch high strappy heels loud and clear adorning her feet. Her soft pearly legs were exposed giving a sexy look and her usual silky black hair was coloured into cherry red with the curls cascading down her shoulders which perfectly matched with the cherry-red tinted lipstick she applied on her lips. Her skin was flawless showing off her beautiful assets in a sexy red blouse tucked in a black high waisted pencil skirt. She threw a smile at everyone while she passed by the corridor and she knew everyone would be smitten by her beauty.

"Wow. You are looking amazing Regina."

"Looks like you dolled up for CEO Wang Miss Regina Herrera." A girl teasingly flashed a wink at her.

Regina, the chief designer of WD. She is known for producing excellent designs. Holding a degree from the famous Fashion Institute of Technology, NewYork, she has named herself as one of the best designers in the industry. Although she started off her career with modelling, she suddenly stepped down when her career was at peaks and started working as the fashion designer surprising everyone.

"Is that the reason you took a half-day leave to doll up?" One of the employees asked in excitement.

"Can you all stop it. It's nothing like that. I was just feeling happy." She whispered in a low voice but the employees could see her blushing.

"Happy because someone has arrived." one of her friends poked her.

"Don't assume. By the way, I convinced my parents finally. I am leaving to Newyork and will be working from there." She said with a wide smile.

"Congratulations Regi. Now you will be working closely with our CEO."

"Who can match the famous Wang family except for our Regina." A girl voiced out.

"Everyone in the office is assuming that you two are secretly dating."

"Don't believe those rumours. We are maintaining a professional relationship." Although she did not show off in the front, she was internally rejoicing when they were talking about prince charming and her. I will turn our relationship into real.

"Professional? Only you are close to him in the Seattle office, except Blake."

"God! You guys are unbelievable. We are not dating."

"You are still denying? Everyone in the company knows that he has dropped you home when he came to Seattle last time."

"You have seen?" Holding her forehead, she added. "Keep that a secret. We are yet to announce it." She lied. Her car had suddenly punctured and Devin happens to see her at the same time. Being a gentleman, he has given her the lift and she was the one who has made it spread in the company through one of her resources. Although he did not allow her to sit next to him, Regina was happy that she could spend time with him. She has planned everything perfectly.. Now that I will be working from New York, soon I will make him mine.
