The Crown's Mundane

The receptionist approached them , " excuse me Sir, the room is ready". His voice had woken Della up. She lifted her head and stood up while Kian walked after her.

He led them upstairs and it seemed to be the only room there. " Except there's only one problem"

"Speak" Kian ordered. " There is no blankets Sir, we apologize greatly for this inconvenience". Oh my days, Kian couldn't defend himself anymore.

Della looked up at him with questions in her eyes. " Best customer service" he uttered in a low voice shaking his head slightly. " we'll be okay". He forced a smile to the receptionist

The receptionist smiled heartily that Kian understood and he bowed slightly and left.

Kian led her in. She walked slowly towards the bed side to grab the first pillow turning around to look at him.

" I need a shower I'll be back" He walked into the bathroom and Della kept looking at his departing figure.

She look at the well dressed neated bed and the room looked newly furbished. She took a seat and rested her back in a sitting position waiting for him.

Kian took off his clothes and of course the heater was broken, he sighed deeply but ignored it, he didn't mind the cold afterall.

When he was done there was a robe next to the towel but he needed a clothing. So he wrapped his lower body in the towel walking out the door.

He didn't expect that she was still awake. When he walked out the door and he crossed eyes with her he was dumbstruck. Della looked at him, her gaze was stuck on his perfectly structured body and his abs were slick because of the water. Why did it look like she wanted to touch it. His short hair drooled on his face covering his eyes giving him a dark aura while his perfect jaw line gave off a good looking villain.

And they made eye contact, she was a cherry at this point and her face blazed red but she was quick to end it. She looked away facing the other side of the room. Realizing what has happening, he walked a bit faster towards the wardrobe and he saw a pajamas, he took it and took a white tee shirt as well. It's the least they could have in such a miniature place. He was grateful.

He took them both and quickly changed into it. When he came out he was drying his hair with the towel and little sprinkles poured onto the ground.

" Why are you awake ?" He asked her with a husky voice. And she had goosebumps all over. " Nothing. Isn't it too cold?" She asked him. Taking a shower this late with the weather condition Soo cold, he was strong for that.

" Uhmm well the heater is working", he chuckled weirdly. " You should get to sleep now it's already too late".

The bed wasn't big enough but they both shared it. Their intense grudge for each other wouldn't let the other suffer enough to sleep on the hard ground that might break.

He laid down sleeping facing the other side and she did so too. It felt awkward being in bed with a man. Her entire life this hadn't happened and she did not have a male sibling to at least suffice for this. It was a new feeling.

She still couldn't sleep and it was getting colder. She thought to close the window but what if this gender gets hot. She sighed and folded into herself to warm up. It wasn't helping. She stood up from the bed causing him to be alert.

She paced a bit around the room to build up heat in her body but it still wasn't working. She stood still warming her hands with her breath when he looked at her. " Are you cold?"

"Yes" she didn't hesitate to respond. " You don't look cold is that possible?" She chuckled asking him. The weather felt extreme because they were in the woods but he seemed to not feel it.

" Do you want to cuddle?" This was the final option and if she refused, he didn't think she would refuse him. She thought within to herself, if we cuddle it would work because of our body heat, but I'm in bed with a man ! She screamed at herself.

Consciously she was scolding herself, unconsciously she was moving towards the bed. He was surprised at her sudden movement but he didn't care. She got on the bed and he held her pulling her down slowly. He spooned her releasing some heat and she felt warm.

Why does she feel Soo warm whenever she made contact with him. Why wasn't he as cold as her, even if she was a girl and he was a man it shouldn't differ that much.

His breathe caressed her neck and she hope she didn't lose herself. She had never felt this before in her life, she had never been this close to a man before. She had to do something to normalize this feeling.

" You... Where...where exactly are you taking us?" That was quite an interesting question to start a conversation that didn't seem like she was an idle mind.

" The fire district" he replied with his eyes closed. " Why are we going that far, aren't there nearby villages ?, why do I have to get married from a district?"

That was right. She could marry from a village, she didn't have to go as far as the district. The district was where their high class , prestige and Honored people were living and they are also known to posses some elemental skill. They are the most unique beings that are found and existed. So why was he taking her there to find a husband and who would marry her if she isn't of class like the rest of them.

" I don't think anyone there would want to marry someone like me from a village" she laughed at the thought of it

Kian Opened his eyes. He saw that she wasn't even joking rather she was serious. " Why do you think that?" He was curious to know her reasons.

" Because I know I don't have anything that would attract these people. You see they are rich, mannerful, filled with ethics and conducts, educated, and have generational wealth, well at least most of them". She turned around looking at him in the eye face to face. " I certainly do not have anything so why bring me here".

" I can compete myself with other people from other villages but not the districts ". She said with her full chest. But did she think this less of herself. This girls have been ridded of their self esteem, respect and confidence they do not have the proper mindset to help them to think correctly. This was insane

" Except you have someone waiting for me huhn she grinned at him. Maybe one of your friends?" She smiled at him widely.

He was in awe. Not only did she look cute in this moment but she looked senseless. And yes, did he have someone for her because she wasn't supposed to just arrive in the district and she was sure she would get married. Arriving in the district was one and finding her suitor was a hard two.

What came out of his mouth next really shocked her. " You look cute".
