The crimson princess

Ambition and a new friend

Pov Grayfia,

This wasn’t supposed to happen like this.

I fought Serafall Sitri, known for her ice power, and we were more or less evenly matched. At one point, she switched opponents with her maid. I thought victory would be easier, but here I am on the ground, vulnerable to a final blow at any moment.

How can someone without noble origins defeat a Lucifuge? Their members are known for being incredibly strong and serving the Lucifer family.

Grayfia: "How can you be stronger than me?"

Rimuru: "You’re not fighting for a cause; you’re only fighting because you were ordered to. I fight for the good of my mistress, Dia Gremory-sama. You lack ambition, and you’re not putting your heart into this fight, while I’m ready to die at any moment for Dia-sama. The only thing I want is her well-being and happiness. If anyone were to obstruct her happiness, I would reduce that person to dust. That’s what sets me apart from you. You claim to serve the Lucifers, but your loyalty isn’t absolute. Rizevim left without you and did nothing to earn your respect. I’ve seen Dia-sama grow, and I saw her power improve. I’ve always been there for every moment of her life since I met her. I’ve trained to stay by her side, and I will always be there for her. My ambition gives me power because I know that if I lose or die, Dia-sama will be sad, and I don’t want that."

What is this crazy woman saying? Even if you have great ambition and determination, that alone won’t give you power.

Rimuru: "Your eyes tell me you don’t believe. Try to find your ambition or someone to serve, and you’ll see that I was right."

And she left without giving me another look.

Pov General,

On Milim’s side, things weren’t going well either. She first fought Rimuru, whose strength was slightly greater than hers, but nothing too troublesome. However, Milim noticed that as time passed, her strength gradually decreased, and at one point, Rimuru switched places with Sera. Weakened and unprepared for the change of opponent, Milim lost miserably, even though she knew she could have had a good fight with Sera.

Milim: "I can’t lose; if I lose, I’ll never have a friend."

Her aura flared up as she attacked Sera. Having heard what Milim said, Sera could only respond.

Sera: "What are you talking about?"

Milim: "If I win my fight and lead my side to victory, the Satans said they would become my friends."

Sera: "Friendship doesn’t work like that. Plus, I know them. They’re just using you for their plans and will abandon you once they succeed."

Milim: "Maybe, but at least I would have had a friend in my life. I never had any. Being an orphan and half-blood, mingled with a human, my race never accepted me. You don’t know what it’s like not to have a friend."

The more she spoke, the more unstable her voice became.

Sera: "I don’t know what it’s like to not have a friend because I’ve had Dia-chan since I was 5, and most of the days I’ve spent have been fun. I can’t understand your sadness, but I can offer to be your friend. I wouldn’t give you any conditions for being one. We may argue sometimes, but if our friendship is sincere, it won’t be broken by a small quarrel."

Milim: "Is that true? You really want to be friends with me?"

Sera: "Yes, I promise. Besides, you’ll also have Dia-chan and Rimuru-chan as friends."

Milim's rage subsided, and she fainted with a smile on her face.

Sera: "We still need to teach her not to be too gullible; otherwise, she could suffer for a very long time."

Rimuru: "I see you’ve finished your fight, Sera-sama."

Sera: "Yes, and I even made a new friend."

Rimuru: "It’s really only you who can make friends during a war."

Despite the tone that suggested a sigh, Rimuru was impressed by Sera’s talent.

Then, suddenly, an aura of immense power approached them.

Rimuru: "That power is coming from Dia-sama."

She started to panic until she realized that the aura was Dia’s POD.

Sera: "It’s transforming. What’s happening?"

Rimuru: "I think she’s trying to reach a new level of power. She’s not just using her power anymore; she’s becoming one with it."

They were shocked to see Dia defeat the four Devils in one move, ending all the battles in the area.
