The CEO’s Masked Secret Wife

Chapter 194 - Murder Discovery and Growing Terror

Hazel's POV

Last night with the girls was exactly what I needed. I laughed until my sides hurt and completely pushed that disturbing package from my mind. When we decided to wrap up the evening, I texted my husband. Within minutes, six imposing men appeared like shadows materializing from the darkness. Felix protested when Damon suggested she come home with him, but he simply scooped her up and tossed her over his shoulder like she weighed nothing. Adrian gave Stella a similar ultimatum, and she wisely chose to walk out on her own rather than be carried.

Back home, Liam kept every promise he had whispered in my ear that morning. His hands explored every inch of my body with relentless passion, barely allowing me a moment of rest.

"I never get tired of watching you get ready," Liam murmured from our bed.

He lounged against the headboard, chest bare and magnificent, a thin sheet draped across his hips. His arms were folded behind his head, showcasing the defined muscles of his torso. God, my husband was absolutely gorgeous.

"Really? And what exactly do you find so fascinating?" I approached him wearing only delicate lingerie, thigh-high stockings, and mint green stilettos.

"Because I know I get to peel every piece off you later. You are my favorite gift to unwrap," he said, his lips finding the curve of my breast through the sheer lace of my bra while his palm traced gentle circles on my belly.

"Your gift is getting rounder by the day," I teased.

"You will be the most stunning and sensual woman carrying my child," Liam pressed tender kisses to my growing bump. "Good morning, little one. Daddy is already completely devoted to you."

Liam spoke to our unborn son constantly. Every morning he shared breakfast with Leo, and every evening he dedicated time to playing with him. Their bond grew stronger each day. Leo remained unaware of my pregnancy, and anxiety gnawed at me about revealing the truth. I had no idea how he would process becoming a big brother, but I could not keep this secret much longer.

The medication Dr. Evans prescribed had finally conquered the relentless nausea. However, exhaustion clung to me like a heavy blanket, and my appetite had become absolutely insatiable.

At the office, Felix greeted us with an unusually bright smile. I was desperate to hear about her evening with the detective. The moment Liam disappeared into his office, I messaged Stella and Vi to join us for coffee and summoned Felix. We had planned an impromptu virtual gathering so Stella and Felix could share details about their romantic adventures.

Settled in the break room with steaming mugs, I grabbed the tablet and video called Chl, who was already waiting with Thea.

"Alright ladies, did everyone drive their men absolutely wild last night? Because mine looks completely destroyed today," Chloe began with her signature directness.

"Liam barely allowed me to close my eyes. I am running on fumes," I complained.

"I had to wear a turtleneck to hide the evidence," Thea laughed, touching her neck self-consciously. "I was actually envious of Felix's hickey situation."

"I can barely walk properly. Sweet Matthew, that man has endless stamina," Scarlett tried unsuccessfully to hide her satisfaction.

"I tormented Adrian all night long. Every time he got aroused, I made sure he could not take care of it himself. He had to endure a freezing shower this morning," Stella grinned wickedly.

"That explains his absolutely foul mood today. I had to reprimand him twice already. He is prowling around like a caged predator," Chloe observed.

"But how can you be certain he did not handle things himself in the shower?" Felix asked innocently.

"Because I joined him in there. I told him I had already seen every magnificent inch of that body, and what a body it is. I nearly climaxed just watching that gorgeous man with his impressive arousal under the hot water," Stella actually closed her eyes at the memory.

"Enough about us, Felix. How did things go with the detective?" I asked eagerly.

"It was wonderful," she replied, suddenly bashful.

"Details, woman!" Chloe demanded. "We need the intimate specifics. That delicious giant must have completely overwhelmed you."

"Actually, it was not quite like that," Felix blushed deeper.

"Do not tell me that ridiculously attractive man does not know how to use what God gave him," Thea asked, making us all dissolve into laughter.

"Oh ladies, I honestly do not know," Felix squirmed uncomfortably. "We did not have sex. We just talked extensively."

"What do you mean you only talked?" Stella pressed.

"We did more than talk, but we limited ourselves to conversation and kissing," Felix clarified.

"Kissing how exactly?" Thea looked stunned.

"We made out intensely, lots of passionate kissing, wandering hands, and by the way he is impressively endowed everywhere. But he insists on being gentle and taking things slowly," Felix explained.

"I am going to tell Scarlett's man that I found someone to handle your virginity situation," Scarlett commented mischievously.

"Why would you do that?" Felix looked confused.

"Because then your hot detective will abandon this gentleman nonsense and take you right on his office desk," Scarlett suggested, sending us into hysterics.

"Actually brilliant," Chloe agreed.

After our gossip session, we returned to work where I had mountains of tasks waiting. Liam stopped by my desk to mention he was having lunch with the guys but would bring me dessert afterward. That promise sent delicious anticipation coursing through me. Lunch with the girls involved more laughter and stories about their previous evening adventures. The afternoon flew by surprisingly quickly.

Liam had just finished putting Leo to bed when his phone rang. I watched his entire demeanor shift as he listened. When he ended the call, he approached me with deeply troubled eyes.

"Vera, that was Damon with updates on the investigation. Remember I mentioned the forger who created fake documents for Clairemont? Johnny Fica Frio?" he asked carefully.

"Yes, I remember. What about him?" I asked, dread already building in my chest.

"He was arrested this morning," Liam said grimly. "Damon discussed it during lunch. This Johnny character confessed everything during interrogation and revealed all the fraudulent documents he created for Clairemont. Not just passports, but extensive corporate paperwork as well."

"So this man possesses significant information," I observed.

"Exactly, and he is eager to cooperate fully. He provided police with every alias used in fake documentation for Clairemont and his wife. That breakthrough allowed them to trace a fraudulent credit card Clairemont's wife used and obtain an address," Liam continued, and I sensed this news was about to take a dark turn.

"And?" I prompted anxiously.

"They raided the location this afternoon. A remote ranch outside the city limits. Clairemont was not there. However, they discovered disturbed earth in the garden and decided to investigate further. They excavated and found Natalie's body, Clairemont's wife. She died from asphyxiation, still had the plastic bag secured over her head when they unearthed her. The coroner estimates she was murdered approximately three days ago, the same day she used that credit card. Clairemont killed his own wife. He remains at large," Liam finished, visibly shaken.

I bolted to the bathroom and vomited everything I had eaten for dinner. The horror was overwhelming. Terror and nausea consumed me simultaneously. Liam held me as I trembled, whispering reassurances that everything would be fine. He guided me to bed and brought warm milk with cookies, insisting I needed to eat something since my stomach was completely empty. Sleep brought nothing but vivid nightmares.
