The CEO’s Masked Secret Wife

Chapter 188 - Back to Business and Building Security

Hazel's POV

The magic of our wedding weekend still lingered as we stepped back into the corporate world. Our families had returned to their respective homes in Crestwood, leaving behind warm memories and promises to visit soon.

Liam wasted no time securing our future. He offered Miranda a full-time position with substantially better compensation, knowing she would soon care for two children instead of one. The generous offer brought tears to her eyes. More surprisingly, he convinced her to move into our home permanently, allowing her to rent out her small place for additional income.

"You won't be lonely anymore," Liam explained gently. "And George seems to enjoy your company."

I caught the subtle blush on Miranda's cheeks. Those two had been finding excuses to chat whenever possible.

For Leo's daily routine, Liam arranged private transportation. He practically poached Damian's driver, who couldn't refuse when Liam mentioned it was for his son's safety.

The security briefing felt surreal. Liam introduced me to the team who would guard our home around the clock. Jerome, the head of security, impressed me with his professionalism and quiet confidence. George assured us he would contact former employees who had worked with Liam's parents, and for those unwilling to return, he would find equally trustworthy replacements.

"We move only when everyone is properly vetted," George promised. "By week's end, everything will be ready."

Walking into Sterling Enterprises felt different now. Employees approached us with congratulations and warm smiles. The company buzzed with activity as management positions waited to be filled. Liam, Damian, Evelyn, and Allen would handle the selection process together.

Felix greeted us at the elevator with her trademark grin. "Good morning, Mr. and Mrs. Sterling!"

"Cut the formality, Felix. We're friends," Liam chided playfully.

"Friends, yes. But here you're my boss and she's my boss lady," Felix shot back with sparkling eyes.

"The only boss I acknowledge is my wife," Liam teased, making Felix laugh.

"Fine, but during work hours, you're Mr. Sterling to me." Felix's expression suddenly turned desperate as she focused on me. "Speaking of which, can we schedule girls' night immediately?"

"Already trying to steal my wife?" Liam's eyes narrowed in mock suspicion.

"It's an emergency, Liam! I promise to have her home by midnight," Felix pleaded.

"You better," Liam warned, then leaned close to whisper in my ear. "Because I plan to worship every inch of your body when you return."

Heat flooded my cheeks. "As if you need an excuse for that."

"What's the emergency about?" I asked Felix, noticing her glance nervously at Liam.

She clearly wanted privacy for this conversation. I promised to coordinate with the girls and followed Liam to my office.

Fresh tulips waited on my desk, accompanied by a handwritten note that made my heart flutter:

"My beloved wife,

Every sunrise brings deeper love for you. You are my anchor, my certainty in this chaotic world. Thank you for choosing me as your husband.

I will earn your love daily, hoping you continue choosing me.

Forever yours, Liam"

I threw my arms around his neck, pouring my emotions into a passionate kiss. "How do you find time for these beautiful gestures?"

"I wake early for you, my angel," Liam murmured against my lips. "With some assistance, of course."

"I choose you every single day because I love you completely." I kissed him again, whispering, "And I'm coming home in a very playful mood tonight."

"Is that a promise?" His voice turned husky as he kissed my neck.

"Absolutely," I breathed, pressing closer.

"Save the honeymoon behavior for the actual honeymoon," Evelyn interrupted, entering with Allen trailing behind.

"The honeymoon won't be nearly enough time to satisfy my need for my wife," Liam replied shamelessly, still caressing my face.

"We should ask Felix to announce visitors," Allen laughed.

"We can control ourselves. We're adults, not teenagers," I protested, trying to sound mature.

"Speak for yourself, angel," Liam grinned. "But since you're here, let's discuss business. Blake's video call starts soon."

In Liam's office, Evelyn updated us on her transition to the new role. She was thriving and receiving positive feedback from colleagues. However, her expression darkened when discussing Clairemont's legacy.

"Multiple women have approached me about his inappropriate behavior. Sexual harassment was apparently commonplace," Evelyn revealed.

My stomach clenched. "This company must be a safe environment for everyone. We need comprehensive anti-harassment policies and enforcement mechanisms. It's not just ethical, it's legally required."

"Excellent point," Liam agreed immediately. "We have basic measures and training, but clearly they're insufficient. Women still feel unsafe reporting incidents. Would you work with Stella, Scarlett, and Felix to overhaul our approach?"

"Perfect idea," Allen supported enthusiastically. "Female leadership on this issue will encourage other women to speak up."

"I want to participate too," Evelyn added firmly. "This company has dark history with harassment. Years ago, it was even worse, more blatant. I experienced it personally. Your father tried addressing it, but those were different times."

"Then it's decided. We're creating a truly safe workplace for women," I concluded with determination.

Damian and Owen arrived, immediately endorsing our plan. Blake's video call went smoothly, finalizing details for the Boston branch operation. By the time we finished, lunch hour had arrived.

"Collective lunch?" Liam suggested.

"Wonderful idea. I'll invite Vi and Felix," I agreed.

"Don't forget Stella," Liam reminded me.

"Actually, she's having lunch with Adrian. He finally convinced her to hear him out," I reported.

"About time," Owen muttered. "Benjamin needs to fix his mess quickly."

After lunch, Liam headed straight to his office for a client call. I stopped by Felix's desk to confirm our evening plans.

"We're going directly to the Community Guild. Everything's arranged with the girls. Ready?"

"Sort of. I desperately need advice," Felix replied with that adorable worried expression that made you want to hug her.

"Relax, sweetie. Every problem has a solution," I assured her before returning to my office.

An hour later, Felix entered Liam's office carrying a brown paper bag, emerging moments later with a mysterious smile. My phone rang immediately.

"Come here, angel," Liam's voice held a familiar edge.

I found him seated at his desk. As I approached, he pulled me onto his lap in one fluid motion, capturing my lips hungrily.

"I missed you," he growled, hands sliding up my legs. "You wore this sexy dress specifically to torture me, didn't you?"

"Maybe I remembered that day you bought me lingerie after destroying what I was wearing," I replied teasingly.

"That was incredible," he said, slipping his hand beneath my dress. "I keep fantasizing about you giving me another private show like that."

"Which show?" I feigned innocence. "When I modeled the lingerie or when I pleasured myself while you watched?"

"Both were perfection, but this morning you already dressed for me, leaving me aching while watching you get ready." His mouth found my neck and chest while his fingers traced patterns on my thighs. "Maybe I want to watch you bring yourself to climax again."

"Maybe someday I'll recreate that for you," I whispered seductively.

"Don't tease me, angel. Look what I have for you." He handed me the paper bag.

"My favorite dessert!" I exclaimed, discovering the slice of chocolate silk pie inside.

"You're sharing that with me," Liam declared, pulling down my neckline to expose my breast, taking it into his mouth eagerly.

I surrendered completely to his touch as he worshipped my breast while his fingers found my most sensitive spot. Just as pleasure began building, Damian's voice shattered the moment.

"Hey there, lovebirds!" Damian entered without warning, then spun around immediately. "Damn it, not again!"

"Fucking cockblock master!" Liam laughed despite his frustration. "Do you have radar for my arousal, Damian?"

I quickly pressed the bag against my chest while Liam restored my dress with practiced efficiency.

"Blame yourself for not locking the door, Liam!" Damian replied with amusement. "I'm starting to think you want me to join in."

"Not in your wildest fantasies!" Liam snarled protectively.

"You can turn around now," I called out, composed again.

"Sorry, Hazel, but I swear I saw nothing! The bag blocked everything," Damian assured me gallantly.

"I'll take my dessert and leave you two to talk," I said, claiming the bag. "But Damian, next time call first when I'm not at my desk." I kissed Liam goodbye and left, already formulating a delicious plan for later.
