The CEO’s Masked Secret Wife

Chapter 165 - Arrested and Caged

Victoria's POV

God, what a nightmare this backwater hellhole turned out to be. The salon I visited today was decent enough, but these people are complete yokels. I needed to escape this pathetic town as soon as possible.

"Bianca, shut that screaming brat up. His wailing is echoing through the entire entrance," I snapped while stepping into this decrepit shack my father had somehow managed to secure for us. "So, what's the verdict?" I struck a pose to show off my fresh transformation.

"Perfect, it's identical to Victoria's style," Bianca nodded approvingly. "But that salon trip was reckless."

"Exactly the reaction I was hoping for. When my gorgeous man discovers that witch in Fresh Foster betrayed him, he'll lose his mind seeing me like this." My pulse quickened thinking about running into Liam. "Plus, I'm a complete stranger in this place."

"This child never stops his tantrum. He was so much calmer when we first took him," Bianca complained.

"Just slip him something from my stash. I've got Xanax right here in my bag, interested?" I suggested casually.

"Have you lost your mind? We can't eliminate the kid before Liam fulfills our demands. Let him exhaust himself with all that screaming."

"Honestly Bianca, maternal instincts clearly aren't your forte." I burst into laughter watching her revolted expression toward the child.

"He simply can't stand looking at you," Bianca shot back venomously. "Your father should have secured better accommodations. This place is absolutely revolting."

"My thoughts exactly, but he insisted we needed to blend into the background here. Still, I'm going out of my mind with boredom."

A sharp rap at the door interrupted us. That pest Ethan had arrived. Bianca rushed to let him in, and he immediately pulled her against him. At least he brought provisions. She dragged him toward the bedroom, and I knew precisely what that tramp was planning. Within minutes, her shameless moaning filled the air like some animal in heat.

Thirty minutes passed before Ethan departed, leaving Bianca hiding in the bedroom. I demanded she handle the screaming child, but she told me to manage it myself. The audacity nearly made me strike her across the face.

I tossed a package of crackers at the little monster, and he hurled every single one back at my face. My rage was boiling over. Fine, I would secure this obnoxious kid to the kitchen table leg and abandon him there while I slept. His problems weren't mine to solve.

I retreated to my room, plugged in my headphones to block his endless crying, and pulled my silk sleep mask over my eyes. Tomorrow I needed to look absolutely stunning for my reunion with my darling.

"Stop violently shaking me, you beast!" I shrieked.

A massive hand tore the mask from my face. My room was filled with enormous intimidating men.

"Someone help me! Bianca, they're going to assault me, help!" I screamed in absolute terror, convinced my life was ending.

"Silence, you worthless piece of trash!" one of them roared. "Police department, you criminal scum! On your feet, you're coming to headquarters. Child abduction, really? Prison is calling your name!"

Suddenly a massive German Shepherd was snarling directly above me. I went completely rigid. Police? What were they accusing me of? I spotted Bianca in the doorway with her arms restrained behind her, and tears started streaming down my cheeks. "Bianca, please tell me this is some twisted prank."

"You think this is entertainment, you complete fool? We're caught, you absolute moron! Your salon adventure did this, I specifically warned you against going, you thoughtless idiot!"

"Don't you dare speak to me that way, Bianca! What is this freezing thing?" I felt something metallic clicking around my wrists.

"Jewelry fit for royalty!" One of the officers laughed mockingly.

"I don't understand," I whispered in confusion.

"Handcuffs, you brain-dead fool. We're under arrest, you circus act!" Bianca screamed furiously.

"Time for your luxury transportation," another officer announced while shoving me forward roughly.

They forced us from the house and stuffed us into an actual metal cage built into the police vehicle's rear compartment. Before being crammed into that claustrophobic prison, I glimpsed the screaming child now peacefully nestled in the arms of an incredibly attractive man. Miraculously, the kid had finally stopped his endless crying.

The reality crashed over me like ice water. My carefully constructed plan had crumbled completely. Liam would never see my perfect transformation now. Instead of winning him back, I was heading to an actual jail cell. The small town I had dismissed as insignificant had somehow tracked us down despite our precautions.

As the police car pulled away from our hideout, I pressed my face against the cold metal bars of our mobile prison. Everything I had worked toward was dissolving before my eyes. My father's plan had failed spectacularly, and now we would face the consequences of our desperate gamble.

The child I had treated as merely an inconvenient tool was safe now, rescued from our incompetent care. Meanwhile, Bianca and I were trapped like animals, heading toward an uncertain fate that would likely separate me from Liam forever.
