Chapter 9: 9
A pale man, dressed in a long black coat watched as a Van was slowly, being pulled out of the harbor holding a coffee mug in his hand he glanced at he wrist, where an old dinky watch showed the time at 5:30Am. Shuffling noises surrounded, where numerous police officers investigated the scene to find something, other than the tire marks.
"Captain." From the corner of his vision, a tall blonde man with dark brown eyes spoke approaching him.
"Lieutenant." Acknowledging his presence, with a short nod the lieutenant spoke.
"We traced the plates, it belonged to 20 year old, White male, Ben Rickshaw Who we haven't been able to get ahold of and…also hes a supe Sir." Furrowing his brows, he turned to the lieutenant and said.
"A supe?" The lieutenant nodded, with a hollowed sigh he sipped on his coffee before saying.
"Contact The handler, let them sort out this mess, for god sake I have enough shit to deal with because of them, have everyone go on paid leave for a couple days and….Destroy the evidence."with a nod the lieutenant left, leaving the captain alone with his thoughts, glancing back at the van drenched with water sitting on the concrete, he sipped his coffee in silence.'Bitter.'

Driving through the morning streets of Brooklyn New York, Shane glanced at the young girl sleeping in his passenger sit, Nicole Jane. Thinking back at to their conversation an hour ago, where she revealed to Shane Everything about The Place called The house of cards. He snarled, it was one big trafficking ring Where supes, Paraded their sick fetishes on innocent people.'Again and again, The more I grow closer, To my revenge the more I hear!'
Shane recalled the guilty face she had, when she recounted the moment she had a chance to escape but at the cost of her friends, after that she cried in Shane's shoulder.'she was lucky weither she knows it or not.'
Shifting his eyes back onto the road, Shane was deep into conflict his main priority was exacting his vengeance on termite no matter what it took, thats what he said and he would die by those words, and now looking back at her Shane knuckles turned white. She had nothing to do with him at all, it was just her luck they met in that alley and should stay like that.
'I don't know her and she dosent know me..' his thoughts circled around his mind, whispering to him to follow the path…
'Just a stranger…..'
'Termite is all that matters, I could give a damn what the others do….Termite is all that…..matters.' His thought hounded him to follow the path, to not lose sight on what truly mattered.
"Dad, help me…I'm scared."Shane's thoughts went silent, as his heart pumped violently, turning to look at Nicole who shed a tear in her sleep her muttered words resounded in his mind.
'Abby…..' that single thought, thrashed every conflict he had in a instant as the face of his late daughter appeared in his mind smiling widely.
Before Shane knew it he patted the girl on her head, gently as her crying stopped .After that The drive went silent for a while until Shane stopped right infront of an apartment building." Kid, where here." Nudging her slightly, she opened her eyes and yawned.
"Thanks, I… I'm sorry for stabbing you earlier, I wasent thinking right."she said sheepishly, as Shane rasised a brow.
"Forget about it, didn't even leave a scratch, Go home kid, Rest you hear me."with a slight smile she nodded, before opening the door and waited a sec before turning to Shane who looked at her strangely, as she took him by surprise and hugged him tightly.
"Thank you." She whispered to him, as he looked down at her and just hugged her back.
Giving her a small wave, as she looked back from the door to her apartment building, Shane watched as she entered all the way until the doors shut. Where his mood shifted instantly, his eyes sharp and ready.'The house of cards, you fucked with the wrong person.' His eyes glinted dangerously, as he pushed the petal and drove off.
Arriving at his warehouse, Shane pushed the shutters up welcoming him to a clean sight, grabbing his gear he armed up as fast as he came he went.
