The Boy Next DOOR.

Chapter 5: The Cullen's.

The next morning, Dave woke up promptly at 8 am and proceeded to freshen up before heading downstairs for breakfast. As he entered the large seating room, he was informed that his parents had already gone to work.

"What the heck! Just like that?" Dave muttered to himself in frustration. Weren't

we supposed to spend today together? They had only moved in yesterday, for heaven's sake."

With a sigh, Dave reluctantly made his way to the dining room to eat breakfast alone. He knew deep down that he might not see his parents in the mornings due to their busy schedules, but he couldn't help feeling disappointed. After all, he had hoped they would at least spend a day with him after moving into their new home.

Dave couldn't fathom why his parents had chosen such a remote location for their new home instead of opting for a place in the bustling city. His frustration mounted as he finished his breakfast alone, feeling stranded in this desolate area.

After eating, Dave decided to explore the surroundings. Stepping outside, he felt the cold breeze gently caress his smooth skin, prompting him to rub his arms for warmth. The area was eerily silent, so quiet that he hesitated to even whisper, scared he might interrupt something

"Damn! What kind of shit is this?" Dave muttered to himself, frustration evident in his voice.

The smooth breeze continued to blow, causing the trees around to sway gently, and he could hear birds chirping and insects buzzing in the nearby forest.

Their house was situated in a remote area, and when he questioned his parents about it, they explained that it was because the school he would be attending wasn't far from there. They chose to buy a house close to the school, but unfortunately, it happened to be in this eerie part of the country. To Dave, it felt creepy, especially with the unsettling house next to them and the absence of any other nearby neighbors.

"Like what the fuck!" he exclaimed inwardly, frustrated with the situation. "It looks like I just have to accept my fate. Well, it's only for a while; it's not like we're living here forever."

Dave looked back at the house next to theirs with disdain, his unease growing stronger by the moment.

He recalled his parents mentioning that they had neighbors next door and advised him to be friendly, but he was taken aback to see signs of life in that unsettling house. While the structure itself seemed decent enough, the atmosphere around it just didn't sit right with him.

Unlike their spacious home in Lyralis, surrounded by expansive grounds and designed with elegance, this neighboring house appeared like it has no life living in it, looking like a old castle with the kind of roofing it has.

As he contemplated these thoughts, the door of the neighboring house creaked open, revealing two couples who seemed to exude an almost magnetic aura. They walked out confidently, their presence commanding attention as if everyone around would willingly bow at their feet. Without a word spoken, it was clear to Dave that these individuals held a strong and imposing power.

Their eyes locked, and Dave couldn't help but feel a strange warmth from their wild smiles, which unsettled him.

"You must be our new neighbor's son, right?" the woman asked cheerfully as they approached Dave.

"Yes, ma'am, I'm Dave Walker," he introduced himself politely.

"Wow, such a cute name," the woman exclaimed in admiration as she affectionately patted Dave's hair.

"We're the Cullens. I'm Haymen Cullen, and my wife here is Rebecca Cullen," Mr. Cullen introduced himself, while his wife continued to gaze at Dave with apparent fascination.

"Nice to meet you, sir and ma'am," Dave responded politely.

"Nice to meet you too. We'll make sure we treat you guys well," Mr. Haymen said, his tone carrying a hint of assurance.

"How do you grow up to be this cute? You were also very cute when you were a kid," Mrs. Rebecca Cullen remarked, her words catching Dave off guard.

"Pardon?..... Do you know me?" Dave asked, his surprise evident in his voice. He was puzzled by her comment about his childhood appearance.

"Don't mind my wife, she can be clumsy sometimes, she just goes on about rambling rubbish whenever she sees cute kids," Mr. Haymen explained, trying to lighten the moment.

"Ohh... I see. It's not a big deal," Dave replied, feeling relieved that Mrs. Rebecca's comment was just a harmless remark.

"Okay, we will get going. Feel free to come visit us. Don't mind our environment; it might get a little too boring. But if we're back, we'll introduce our son to you. I'm sure he would love to know you," Mr. Haymen informed, waving goodbye to Dave as they entered their car.

"Thanks to God they're not some kind of creepy neighbors like those I watch in movies," Dave said to himself, smiling with satisfaction.

"I can't wait to meet their son. I'm sure he'll be nice too," he murmured, heading back into his house with a wide, contented smile on his face.

As he walked in, a pair of smoldering crimson eyes discreetly observed from behind the curtains, casting an intense and mysterious gaze through the window as they watched Dave skip into his house.

A week passed swiftly, and it was time for Dave to begin his university studies. He awakened to the soft glow of morning light filtering through his curtains, reluctantly parting ways with the warmth of his cozy bed.

After his refreshing bath, he slipped into a stylish yet comfortable outfit, carefully selecting accessories that reflected his unique sense of fashion. Following a quick skincare routine, he grabbed a nutritious breakfast, ready to face the challenges of the week ahead with confidence and flair.

His parents had taken care of all the necessary arrangements for him, so all Dave needed to do was head to the university and attend his lectures. His mom had even helped him braid his neck-length black hair into two loose braids, framing his beautiful face perfectly.

The jean denim overall jumpsuit Dave wore exuded a playful yet stylish vibe, blending elements of masculinity and femininity effortlessly. The garment hugged his form with a tailored fit, accentuating his slender silhouette. Its classic denim material was softened by subtle distressing, adding a touch of casual charm. Adjustable straps adorned with delicate details complemented the overall aesthetic, making it a versatile choice that expressed both comfort and a strong sense of individuality. Underneath, he wore a white long-sleeved turtleneck top, adding a sporty edge to his ensemble, paired with crisp white skate sneakers.

Carrying his compact white backpack, Dave descended the stairs to where his parents awaited him, ready to drop him off at school. His mom greeted him with a warm smile as they entered their Mercedes Maybach S-Class luxury sedan, parked elegantly outside and waiting. The driver wasted no time, smoothly pulling away from the curb as they embarked on their way to Dave's new university.
