Chapter 19: Dog!.
The next morning.
Dave woke up very late today too, he didn't have any disturbing night threatening nightmares.
When he woke up, he was surprised to see that it already two pm. He also didn't have any nightmares last night too.
Why?
It not possible for him to sleep for good two days without have any nightmares, he wondered why that happened.
He looked by his side and didn't see kelvin there, he probably would have woken up very early, why didn't he wake him?
He remembered what happened last night and that made him face palm himself cause of guilt.
He saw how shocked and pained kelvin was last night, he really didn't expect that kind of thing.
"It serves him right though, he should have stop when i told him too, i didn't even know why i apologize to him. His head supposed to have crashed against the wall." He mumbled to himself.
Getting of the bed, he head to the bathroom to freshen up.
After few minutes.
When Dave was done, he went down the stairs and he didn't see his parents nor kelvin in the sitting room.
Heading out, he saw them seated outside.
His parents and kelvin parents were seated outside with basket of fruit and snacks placed on a wooden table in front of them.
" Finally, the sleeping beauty has woken up" kelvin scoffed when he sighted Dave. His face was still a little puff due to the long sleep.
" Wow Dave, you slept for long today too. Your health is already getting better" Elena smiled happily as she beckoned him to seat next to her.
" How're you doing Dave?" Rebecca asked placing a plate of fruit in front of Dave.
" I'm good ma" he smiled at her as he picked up an orange which was peeled by kelvin.
They all chatted and eat and play some mini games.
After a while...
Dave and Kelvin could be seen taking a stroll along the pathway that in a forest which has tall large trees.
Yellowwood trees was lined along the pathway of the forest which made it beautiful. The serene forest unfolds with towering trees, their branches intertwining to create a verdant canopy filtering sunlight. The air is scented with the earthy perfume of moss-covered rocks, and a gentle breeze rustles leaves, creating a symphony of nature's whispers. Sunlight dances through the foliage, illuminating a lush carpet of ferns and wildflowers. The forest floor, adorned with dappled sunlight, invites exploration along meandering paths, where every step unveils a new facet of this enchanting landscape.
" Why did you bring me here?" Dave asked looking around as he walked.
" Can't I bring you here?" Kelvin asked
" Don't ask me stupid questions"
" You're also asking me stupid questions Dave"
" See, don't disturb my life, just let me enjoy this peaceful evening. That why I don't like following you out, you always cause problem" Dave snorted as he kept on walking.
" Really!, Who usually cause problem between the two of us? You know you're exactly saying saying the opposite"
" Blah blah blah blah, just fuck off. You're disturbing my hearing".
" You've start with your naughty act again, I'm gonna spank your ass so hard that.... " He abruptly stop and stood like asif he has seen something.
When Dave heard the abrupt halt in his words he looked back.
" What wrong?" Dave asked as he walked close to him.
" Shh" he shunned him placing his finger on his lips.
" Take your hand off, why should I shut up?" He asked yanking his hand away.
As he was about to talk back again, he heard a whimper which seems close by.
" Do you hear that? " Dave asked walking close to kelvin
" Yes, that why I told you to lower your voice"
They heard the whimpering again and they look around to see where it's coming from. From the sound of it, it sounds like a wounded animal.
The whimpering was followed by a high pitched cry and that made them locate where the sounds was coming from.
Behind a large tree. A majestic white fur dog, adorned in a pristine coat, sits with a gentle demeanor, yet its eyes reflect pain. Whimpering softly, it cradles a wounded leg, the contrast between the purity of its fur and the vulnerability of its distress creating a poignant scene. The canine's gaze, a mix of trust and suffering, beckons for comfort, making the plight of the injured limb all the more heart-wrenching in this portrait of resilience and beauty amidst adversity.
" Oh my goodness!,it a dog! It wound is huge, it must be in so much pain" Dave gasped as the white dog came to sight.
" So?! There's nothing we can do, let's go back" kelvin nonchalantly said as he looked at the dog which was laid on the floor, it eyes sparks as soon as it sighted kelvin and Kelvin eyes also sparked.
He stare at the dog in front of him and gave it a discomfort look.
' What's a wolf doing here?' he asked himself as they stared at each other.
" Kelvin! Stop staring at it. What should we do? It loosing a lot of blood!"
" That none of my business, it will heal on it own. Let get out of here" Kelvin spourt as he held Dave and drag him away.
" Wait! What!?, So you expect us to leave it all alone here?. Pity the dog please" he pleaded yanking his hand away.
Bending down, Dave gently touched the wounded dog. Oh! It fur is so soft.
" How do you get this huge wound?" Dave asked and the dog whimpers in reply.
'Why do he keep calling it a dog, it clearly visible that it a wolf!, A wolf for Christ sake!' kelvin yelled in his mind.
" Kelvin... How about we take it home.."
"...."
" Stop staring at me, say something"
" Take it home?! You must be mad!" He yelled grabbing Dave hand dragging him home.
" Kelvin please, don't leave it there. I promise if it okay, we're going to let it go, we will send it back. Don't be so heartless kelvin" Dave pleaded.
" What if it dies? I will forever be guilty and I'm going to hate you for that" Dave threatened.
Kelvin stop and looked at Dave, he shakes his head in disbelief.
From the look of the so called dog, it clearly stated that it was indulged in a huge fight and it going to take long for it to recover. It might encounter death if it stays here till night.
" After it recover we're sending it out!" kelvin stated and that made Dave beam with joy.
Having no choice, he turned back and went to carry the 'dog?!' home.
