The Bodyguard System

Jaden was completely shocked upon hearing what the system had said. It had actually changed the information about his parents? That was something that was completely out of his expectations.

'System, can you at least explain how much you changed the information?' Jaden hurriedly asked.

[The system understood that the host was currently in a precarious situation. And due to that, he was obviously going to face a lot of danger in the near future.]

[From the fact that the host's parents were the ones that were in charge of the genetic research, it was clear that many people would come looking for the host later on, after realizing that it was impossible for them to be able to realize the same achievement as the host's parents.]

[It was due to that reason, and considering that the host had not yet gotten strong enough, that the system decided to edit that background information. The information was edited in such a way that it was known to all the people that tried to look for the information about your parents, that they died in an accident.]

[All the achievements that they had gotten in their lives had been deleted, which includes the success that they had gotten in genetic research. It is due to this reason that when the host asked the AI to look for the information about his parents, it could not find anything substantial.]

[But it is not possible for the system to edit the background information completely. There are a few people that already know about your parents, but the system made it so that they would not actively seek you, unless you were strong enough.]

[This does not imply that the system is not capable of erasing all the memories of all these people, in order to hide the information about your parents. It is just that the consequences of doing that is going to be bigger than the host might expect.]

[So, in order to solve this problem, the host will have to be strong enough, to be able to deal with the enemies that would arise later on. And, the host facing several mutants is related to this issue. Even though the issue related to the host's parents was suppressed, it was obviously not possible to wipe it completely.]

[And as days continue moving on, the host will face stronger mutants, who are from the two forces that were involved with the death of the host's parents. At that time, if the host does not have enough strength to be able to protect himself, then, the host will die.]

Jaden remained silent after the last prompt from the system. He was thinking so much about what the system had said.

It was completely unexpected that the system was involved in the editing of the information about his parents. To say the truth, it was a good thing, considering that it had saved him a lot.

The last person that came to look for him, just after he had gotten the system, was none other than Lucas Smith. But after he had left, Jaden had never met any other member of the Smith family, coming to look for him because of his parents.

But recently, the appearance of the mutants was just as the system had said. It was clear that he would have to deal with the enemies at the end of it all. In reality, even if all these people had forgotten about his parents, that would not imply that Jaden was going to leave them just like that.

Even if they forgot, they were still involved in the death of his parents. And of course, Jaden was not willing to let them go scot-free. He would have to deal with them, take revenge for his parents.

There was another thing that Jaden had noticed. That was the fact that according to the system, it seemed that he was not strong enough.

With the current strength that he possessed, if he was not careful enough, he was actually going to be killed? Just how strong was the strongest mutant within the two forces?

Jaden could not believe it. He had gotten stronger, not only from the physique enhancing pills, but even from the awakening pill, and the advancement pill. But even with that, he was going to die if he was not careful?

From this statement, it was clear that his power level was way below the strongest being within the two forces. And if it just happened that it was not just one of them that was above him, but instead several, then things could get even worse.

At this point, Jaden immediately decided that he would have to find a method of making sure that he got stronger. He had to get stronger as soon as possible, considering that he had to deal with the two forces within the next 3 months.

Well, it could have been 3 months, but the first month was already elapsing. That implied that he only had a little over 2 months to deal with the two forces.

Jaden did not have to put himself to be within a certain time frame, but still, he felt that was necessary. After all, even if he thought that he had all the time in the world, it was not as those two forces were not going to act as long as he did not act against them.

From the fact that they kept on sending mutants after him implied that they had realized something about him. And with him dealing with the mutants in the forest outside Rezi city, that was something that had obviously alarmed the two forces, making them to send stronger mutants after him.

Jaden currently believed that he would be safe for quite a while, considering that he was currently within the central province. Within the central province, the actions of the mutants was quite limited, considering that if a mutant acted, the government mutants would also act.

The conflict between the two forces was something that had always been restrained. None of them had ever gone all out, and neither of them was willing to do that. The losses that would be suffered by the two sides was something that none of them were willing to bear.

Jaden fell into a moment of contemplation, as he thought of a method of getting stronger, and faster. It was just that no matter how much he thought about it, he realized that they only method of him getting stronger was actually by being a bodyguard.

What could he do? The only way that he could gain rewards from the system was obviously through the rewards that came from being a bodyguard. As long as he's saved John when he was in danger, then he would be rewarded.

But currently, there was a very small possibility of John encountering danger, other than the one that he was heading to head first. It was impossible for Jaden to orchestrate a plan, and lead John into danger by himself. Your next journey awaits at empire

If he actively did something like that, then that was obviously against the conduct of being a bodyguard. As for the danger that John was involved in related to the mutants, that was something that was done unintentionally. And so, he received rewards as long as he made sure that John's safety was maintained.

And just as Jaden was thinking about that, he suddenly realized something. From the previous reward that he had gotten, he had received two technology advancement cards.

And currently, he had been trying as much as possible to study about genetics. Was it possible for him to be able to increase the level of something that was gotten from the genetic research, and make it better?

At this moment, Jaden felt a little painful in his heart. The reason behind that being that he had used the advancement pill without trying something like this.

What if he had used the technology upgrade card on the pill, making it powerful enough to be able to enhance his capabilities by a higher level? Maybe at this point, he would have been more stronger than he was at the moment, and he would not be facing any danger when facing the two forces.

But there was no medicine for regret. The only thing that he could do was to perhaps acquire another advancement pill, or maybe another physique enhancing pill. It was just that it was not that easy to be able to acquire them.

How many times had he completed the tasks of being a bodyguard, but how many pills had he received so far? Additionally, the reward system from the system was kind of random. It was unpredictable, making it impossible for Jaden to be able to tell what reward he was going to receive next.

Suddenly, Jaden thought of something. What if, he decided to go ahead and visit one of the laboratories that was currently used by the government and acquire the pill that they wanted to use in order to convert John and the others into mutants?

Well, there was a possibility that it might not be a pill, but something like a serum, or it was through an injection, but nevertheless, as long as he acquired it, he could use the technology upgrade card on it.

The technology upgrade card could be used on anything, which included something like a serum or a pill. And, the good thing about it was the fact that it could remove the deficiency of something, and improve it in such a way that it seemed that that item came from 5 to 100 years in the future.

But here was the problem. How was he supposed to acquire the serum, or the pill?
