Chapter 746 Ghost Hand Divine Doctor
"I really didn't expect that we would have an undercover inside our ranks," Ye Shikai exclaimed. It seemed that the undercover was even located within the Netherworld Palace base in Yanjing.
"Boss, this is Yanjing, not Europe. Our roots are not here, so it's inevitable that someone would infiltrate, maybe not from within our ranks, but possibly outer associates," Ghost continued, "This is my responsibility."
"Forget it. Since there's an undercover amongst us, what we need to do is capture him," Ye Shikai coldly stated, "Before that, let's hold our actions."
"Alright, I'll keep the information we've gathered hidden for now and I'll notify Worm. As soon as we spot anyone suspicious, we will make our move."
"Either we don't act, or we take everything down at once."
"Yes, Boss."
"By the way, Boss, I heard that there is a famous doctor in Yanjing who claims to cure all diseases. My sister-in-law mentioned that your symptoms have recently been flaring up; maybe I should talk to him," suddenly, Ghost suggested.
"Let's talk."
"This Divine Doctor is indeed very special, and only treats the destined ones. Even money doesn't work," Ghost joked, "I heard that last time someone tried giving a bag of diamonds and was directly rejected."
"That really sounds like a 'Zen' famous doctor," Ye Shikai was skeptical. He had never heard of such a renowned person, yet capable of curing all diseases – it seemed a bit too presumptuous. Then again, if this person truly possessed such abilities, having some "personality" would be normal.
"Boss, why don't you give it a shot? If it works, great; if not, no harm done," Ghost persuaded.
"That's a good idea. Do you have the address?"
"Of course. His whereabouts are enigmatic; no one ever knows his exact location."
"How do you know, then?"
"This Divine Doctor, before seeing patients, will release eight locations. Seven of them are decoys, only one is real, and these eight locations are far apart. It's impossible for patients to check all eight."
"Isn't it purely luck then?" Ye Shikai couldn't help but smile wryly. What kind of character was this doctor? People always say that doctors should possess medical ethics, save the dying and heal the wounded, and not neglect the needy; otherwise, even if they could revive the dead like Hua Tuo reincarnated, they are still jerks. This 'Divine Doctor', however, seems to do just the opposite.
"That's why they say, seeing this doctor is all about fate, and luck is also part of fate."
Ye Shikai was momentarily at a loss for words. They say luck is part of one's strength, much like how some recruiters randomly discard some resumes, reasoning that they don't hire those with bad luck. This logic was surely paradoxical.
"Not long ago, he just released these eight locations." Ghost pulled out a map from nowhere and marked eight red dots on it, with Yanjing's urban area at the center. The eight points were about twenty kilometers apart from each other—indeed, even for a cultivator, it was impossible to reach all rapidly.
"Even if you're lucky enough to choose his location, he also decides whether to treat based on appearance," Ghost's words made Ye Shikai even more frustrated. Still judging by appearance, is this person a swindler?
"So, the chances of being treated by him are very slim." Ye Shikai scoffed and turned to leave.
"Boss, he's just like that. He only sees patients twice a year, has been doing so for over a decade."
"Has not there been any trouble over so many years?" Ye Shikai was astonished. If what Ghost described was true, this person would certainly have upset some big shots in Yanjing, yet to remain unharmed for over a decade showed that this person indeed had capabilities.
"None."
"Well, that really is a character. When does he accept patients?"
"Tomorrow night."
.......................................
"Boss, are you really sure about choosing this location?" On the map, Ye Shikai casually selected a point on the very south without any hesitation, leaving Ghost confused as to why such an arbitrary choice wasn't given a bit more consideration.
"Since it's random, isn't choosing anywhere all the same? This place is close to home; if I don't meet him, I'll just go home and sleep," Ye Shikai said casually.
"Alright then, I'll also have people keep an eye on the other seven points," seeing no better option, Ghost had to comply.
"Are you sure this guy isn't a swindler?" Ye Shikai confirmed again, astonished by the doctor's unconventional approach.
"Of course he's real; his nickname is 'Ghost Hand Divine Doctor.' I swear on my life," Ghost assured fervently, and Ye Shikai genuinely believed him this time, as Ghost had always been synonymous with reliability.
The following evening.
Ghost drove Ye Shikai to the supposed "location."
It was a decrepit unfinished building, a damaged "dangerous building" which looked too old and run-down. It was hard to imagine someone would treat people in such a place; this 'Ghost Hand Divine Doctor' indeed had a unique personality.
"You sure it's here?"
"Boss, it's right here," Ghost pointed to a nearby parking lot, "Boss, look there." Following the direction of Ghost's finger, Ye Shikai saw an old, worn-out parking lot that surprisingly held more than a dozen limousines worth millions, completely out of place as their owners would definitely not reside here.
"Perhaps there are others who have come here," Ghost said coldly, "The Divine Doctor's location is always a building, as to which room, we might have to search one by one. Also, this doctor doesn't allow assistance, only the patients themselves can search; even if found, he absolutely refuses to treat otherwise."
"Alright then, I'll try my luck; you and the Hidden Guard wait here," Ye Shikai took a deep breath, opened the car door. There were at least dozens of residential units in the area, each building housing dozens of families; nevertheless, he had no choice but to search one by one.
Knock, knock, knock.
"May I ask who you are looking for?"
"I'm looking for...the Divine Doctor."
"Are you insane?"
Bang.
An hour later, having been rudely turned away many times, almost everyone responding with the same phrase, Ye Shikai felt somewhat disheartened and sat on the stone steps for a break.
"Stop the thief!" At that moment, a shout came from a nearby man, and Ye Shikai turned his head, seeing a black-clad masked man with a wallet sprinting ahead, closely chased by an older man.
"It seems I still need to do a good deed first," Ye Shikai casually picked up a stone from the ground and threw it.
Swish.
"Ah!" The stone, leaving Ye Shikai's hand like a sniper's bullet, accurately hit the black-clad man in the shin. Following a sharp scream, the man heavily fell to the ground.
