Chapter 572: Wedding Planning Company
After much coaxing, Su Qingyu finally turned around, and Ye Shikai knew that she was no longer angry; she was merely pretending to be in order to make Ye Shikai completely give up the idea of returning to his military post.
"Darling wife, please calm down," Ye Shikai pleaded, trying his best by offering water and massages.
"Alright, let's talk about the wedding then," Su Qingyu said. Since her graduation, she seemed to have thrown herself into the fiercely competitive world of business. To be honest, her experience with romance wasn't extensive, and after several years of intense work, she didn't even know how to date anymore.
"Uh, I'm really not good at wedding planning," Ye Shikai said with an awkward smile. For someone who had been focused on survival in battle, romance felt quite distant. At most, he had dated Ji Qian overseas, but he had never been married.
"I'm not good at it either," blushed Su Qingyu. The pair looked at each other and suddenly burst into laughter. It seemed neither had much of a romantic or artistic bone in their bodies.
"How about we don't involve Qingqing? She's always quirky and probably understands these things better," Su Qingyu suggested after they had puzzled over it for a while.
"That would be great, but..." Ye Shikai was startled and then a bit worried. Considering Su Ziqing's personality, she might add some "little tricks" or "little surprises" to the wedding, which could potentially cause trouble since she was the type who wasn't afraid of stirring things up.
"But what?"
"Uh, it's nothing. How about I visit the wedding company tomorrow? After all, they are the experts," Ye Shikai decided, after some thought, to outsource the wedding planning.
"Okay, that sounds good. I'll have Qingqing accompany you then," Su Qingyu nodded.
"You're not coming?"
"I... have some work at the company to take care of," Su Qingyu said apologetically. It was her own wedding, and logically, she should be going to the wedding company with Ye Shikai. Su Qingyu was quick to explain the reason, worrying that Ye Shikai might overthink it.
"Well, if you're busy, then that's fine," Ye Shikai said, somewhat disappointed. "Then, I'll go with Qingqing tomorrow."
"What, go where?" At that moment, a voice came from the doorway, and Su Ziqing bounced in, diving onto the bed.
"Wow, brother-in-law, why are you wearing a military uniform? You look so cool," Su Ziqing exclaimed in adoration after seeing Ye Shikai's attire.
"It's my old uniform; still fits me well."
"Well, you've made it to Major, what a high rank," Su Ziqing edged closer to Ye Shikai, touching his epaulette and said with a laugh.
"Alright, Qingqing, it so happens we need your help."
"What is it?" Su Ziqing asked curiously.
"Cough, Qingqing, could you accompany your brother-in-law to the wedding company tomorrow?" Su Qingyu spoke in a soft voice.
"What, you guys are finally planning the wedding, but wait, why is it going to be with my brother-in-law, why aren't you coming?" Su Ziqing said excitedly, but then her thoughts shifted, and she felt something wasn't quite right.
"I have to deal with some work."
"Sis, you are such a workaholic. A wedding is important, and you're rushing through it," Su Ziqing said unhappily. "Aren't you worried that your husband would be upset?"
"It's okay; if Qingyu is busy, I can understand," Ye Shikai said with a light smile.
"Well, then, long live understanding."
.............................
The next day, Ye Shikai drove Su Ziqing to the wedding company. It was a well-known venue, which many celebrities had chosen. Rumors had it that the company's behind-the-scenes owner was also a super beauty.
"Sister-in-law, aren't you overthinking that my sister didn't come with us?" Su Ziqing asked nervously from the passenger seat.
"Think what? Your sister's got a lot to handle, I understand," Ye Shikai chuckled. Was he considered narrow-minded? Su Ziqing even thought of such things.
"Then let's hurry and go."
Crown Wedding Company.
Ye Shikai thought the name sounded noble but remained curious about their services. Among all the women he had met, the most noble was certainly Princess Anna. She was born into nobility, a pureblood princess, a perfect blend of elegance and poise. The last time he saw her was on Holy Mountain; he wondered how she was doing now.
"Brother-in-law, what are you thinking about?" Suddenly, Su Ziqing's voice snapped him out of his reverie, and he coughed awkwardly at the sound. As they entered, they were met by a woman dressed in office lady (OL) attire who seemed to be an employee of the place.
"Please have a seat," the woman respectfully invited them to sit across the table. "Are you two getting married?"
"No, she's my niece."
"Ah," the woman's expression changed, showing surprise. Ye Shikai rushed to explain, understanding why she might have gotten the wrong impression. But coming to a wedding company with a niece, that was indeed an odd combination.
"Oh, I see," the woman replied, relieved after the explanation.
"Would you prefer a Western-style wedding or a Chinese one?"
"Western-style, my spouse prefers it."
"Then..." Before the woman could finish, her desk phone rang.
"Excuse me, I need to take this call."
"Take your time," Ye Shikai took a sip of coffee while browsing through the various styles in the album. No wonder modern women value weddings so much; these designs were truly romantic, and even Ye Shikai was looking forward to it.
"Sorry, sir, could you please wait for me for a while?" the woman stood, apologetically speaking to Ye Shikai.
"Of course, no problem." Ye Shikai was puzzled, as the employee had to leave just after taking the call.
Three minutes later.
"Sir, the lady who was helping you before had to step out. I will be assisting you further," a pleasant voice sounded. Ye Shikai looked up and was suddenly stunned. A stunningly beautiful woman with long, black, straight hair flowing down like spilled ink and a lovely face was sitting across from him.
The employees of the wedding company were generally good-looking, but this woman seemed excessively so.
"Sss," Ye Shikai felt a sharp pain under his foot, quickly jolted back to reality, as he found Su Ziqing's high heel grinding into the back of his foot. Turning his head, he saw Su Ziqing staring at him fiercely.
"Sir, are you alright?" the woman smiled gently, brushing her hair subtly.
"It's nothing, let's continue," Ye Shikai retracted his foot and spoke awkwardly.
